Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week) has been celebrated yearly since 1975. This year is special as it is 35 years since Te Reo Māori became an official language in Aotearoa and 50 years since the signing of the Māori Language Petition!

Noho, directed by Erina Daniels (Ngāti Wai), is a 50-minute theatrical piece featuring extracts from a variety of Aotearoa plays and playwrights, performance pieces, and authors. A compilation of 13 performance works also featuring mōteatea, haka and waiata, seeks to tautoko the learning of our NZ histories, presenting texts to illuminate and investigate colonising narratives.

Join us to celebrate Mahuru Maōri with a special performance from the Muritai School Kapa Haka group. Whakapiri mai!
