November 11 is Origami Day, celebrating the ancient Japanese art of creating intricate objects and complex shapes out of square pieces of paper.

The word origami comes from the Japanese words ‘ori’ (folding) and ‘kami’ (paper).

Celebrate Origami Day at War Memorial Library on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 November. Take a break and find your zen by practicing this ancient art, and add your own beautiful butterfly to our installation. Suitable for most ages.
