HVSF 2 AT THE DEPOT THEATRE The tenth season of HVSF’s popular new works series kicks off in August! Discover new stories and old friends in an intimate theater setting: The Philipstown Depot Theatre inside Garrison Landing’s historic train station.

The “Dastardly Villain” of Peter Pan fame gets his turn at the helm in John Pielmeier’s charming, coming-of-old-age tale. A host of characters lead our antihero, Captain James Hook, along life’s weighty arc–from Youth through Maturity and inevitable Mortality–and the notorious pirate’s story begins to look far different from that penned by J.M. Barrie. Hook’s Tale will have its world premiere in the Spring of 2020 at Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston, TX. This Presentation is made by Special Arrangement with Donald Corren.

As the adulterous Hester Prynne faces a raging public and a vengeful, long-lost husband, Hamill (Pride and Prejudice playwright and adapter extraordinaire) sheds new light and laughter on the sin, shame, and utter insanity of a puritanical society not far from our own mad, modern world. Adapted from the novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne

Storyhorse Documentary Theater’s collection of three one-act plays was inspired by transcribed conversations, historical documents, and other primary sources, and focuses on the social, political, environmental, and medical issues faced by Hudson Valley citizens.
