Galatians 5:1 As the American Civil War drew to an end, President Abraham Lincoln penned the Emancipation Proclamation, a document which would free all slaves in the United States. In those days with no email or telephone, the Proclamation was physically taken to every individual state. This meant that even after the slaves were freed, most still lived in slavery because they hadn’t yet received the news of their freedom. So they lived under the yoke and bondage of their masters—some even dying in slavery—even though they were legally free!

Many Christians today do the very same thing. In Christ, you are legally free. You’re no longer bound by the law of sin and death. But there are some, perhaps in ignorance of their freedom, who still live in bondage. Maybe you’ve encountered Christ, but find yourself living under the yoke of slavery to sin and works-based acceptance. If so, consider today’s passage your “Emancipation

Happy Mother’s Day Sunday, May 11, 2013 is Mother’s Day! Isn’t it interesting that the only way get onto planet earth is to come through the womb of a mother. As a believer, we know and understand that even our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ arrived on the planet though his mother, Mary. On this special day, do something special for your mother. Unfortunately, there are some who must go through this day without the presence of their mother. Even for you it is a special time to reflect upon the wonderful memories that you have had with your mother.
A Mother’s Day Poem by: Breanna Hargrove
Being a mother is a lifestyle. All day, all night. Mothers have that sixth sense That releases the ultimate power of God when her child is in trouble. That sixth sense enables them to reveal what we never thought God stored inside. To thrive, To strive, And are alive to glorify God through the raising up of their children. Looking at a godly mother Should register the silent Whisper of the name, “Jesus” And when you begin to think, That you are Peter, And you begin to sink, There she is Hand stretched out Having no doubt that She wil save you Even when you don’t want to be saved. Always there, thru and thru On behalf of all the children, Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!

An Apostle is not only one of the five fold, an Apostle is the “messenger of God”. When an Apostle is set in place, neighborhoods, communities and entire cities are shaken in the spiritual realm. In recent years, the Apostolic annointing upon men and women of God has burst forth. From various contries in Africa and in the United States of America, Apostles are bringing the message of God to the people, with POWER! The City of Austin is honored to have received such a honorable man of God; one who is a pioneer of the non-denominational church in Austin.

The Science Olympiad is awesome! It’s breath taking. It all started with these special kids; Grace, Adonis, Anna, Kalaya, Jason, Ivan, Juan, Ashlee, Makalay, Kay Kay, Alahanjra, Yessenia, and Mayra. There were also the coaches, Mr. Garcia and Mr. Teadena “Mr. T”. Every Tuesday and Thursda we studied for 2hours. We worked hard to win a medal. We went to the first tournament and I got 1st place in an event called Picture This. Adonis and Juan were in my event with me. Overall our team got 2nd place. That’s really good! Then once again we had to study very hard. We went to State but I did not get a medal; but it’s okay because I’m gonna do it next year and get a medal. Overall, our school placed 19th. We are Dailey Middle School Science Olympiad! The Science Olympiad is my home. This science thing is what we are...this is hwat we do. By: Grace Brooks
