Dream Analysis
In Kappasinian Hypnosis we believe that the subconscious mind understands and speaks its own language of symbols. This would be true in waking state as well as in dreams. Symbols represent different things to different people and the unique meaning speaks to individuals through dreams. Generalized suggestions or interpretations cannot work well for dream analysis.
There are three types of dreams. Dreams that take place during approximately the first third of your night’s sleep are called wishful thinking dreams.
wishful thinking dreams These deal with events or thoughts of the day that your mind is accepting. This type of dream has very little value as far as dream analysis is concerned. Dreams that take place in the middle of the night, or approximately the second third of your sleep, are precognitive dreams.
precognitive dreams These are events that your mind predicts will happen. You mind is constantly accumulating information based on what you hear, see, and experience in your day-to-day life; and, sometimes, it expresses its conclusions as symbols in the dream process. Most of the time, this type of dream is lost totally or partially to the memory, and so it becomes difficult to analyze.
Should you be awakened in the middle of the night by such a dream, it is important that you record it in writing for future analysis.
venting dreams During approximately the last third of your night’s sleep, venting dreams take place. These dreams are the most important to dream analysis, since they represent events, traumas, doubts, and fears that you are removing from your past and present. They reflect that which you no longer need to hold onto. They must always be recognized and accepted as a venting process, and not be misinterpreted as having precognitive value. The purpose of venting is removal. If you take these dreams back into your mind literally, instead of recognizing their natural therapeutic value, you are not allowing your mind to let go of the condition that it is trying to release.
Clues for analysis:
In order to make sure that the best analysis is reached, it is imperative that we take a look at some key details.
1.) Timing. Look for details that will indicate if it is present time or another time in your life. 2.)People. Are the people in your dreams the same people in your life now or are they people from your past? Is everything current except perhaps one person in the dream? 3.)What’s going on in the dream? What is the experience? A dream will remove the condition it is reflecting, only if it is understood consciously, based on the symbols and timing.
