Special Topic: Past Life Regression Using Past Life Regression to connect with a core lesson on love and achievement

By Susana Padilla-Burns, CHt. CH Hypnosis Haven on May 2017 Imagine if you could, allowing your body to relax and release tensions that accumulate within the physical body, all the while allowing your mind to follow as the hypnotherapist guides you along a precise narrative. How does relaxing and storytelling equal to a Past Life experience where the visions then equal to releasing emotions and overcoming challenges? Susana Padilla-Burns, Certified Hypnotherapist, Consulting Hypnotist, Therapeutic Imagery Master and specialist in Hypnosis and Past Life Regression, shares a story from a Past Life Regression session and how it helped reaffirm the importance of family and love in her present life now.

The image began as though I was coming into a moment that was already taking place. Before beginning the session, the Hypnotherapist had asked me if I wanted to experience the life as an observer or as the person, I always opt to Be the person in the life and so I went with that again. Coming into the vision of a past life is like when a movie begins on a screen larger than life, it starts small but becomes the world, and in this life story, the opening scene was under water, in the ocean. There was a pod of mermaids, male, female and children. I was female and the greatest pleasure I had in life was swimming faster than the others. I didn't do it for sport or to boast, it was because I had discovered that if I swam fast enough, I mean really really fast, and allowed myself to go up to the surface, I could break through to the top and fly above the water. Every day I would work on my speed and ability, my breath and span. No other mermaids could keep up with me when I swam in the outskirts of the group's safety, but I would return every evening to be with my family and children. During the day I would teach the young mermaids how to swim like I did and I would encourage the grown-ups to believe they could break the surface and be above water. I taught whoever was willing to learn and it made me feel good, but what made me happiest of all was when I swam with my husband and our merchildren between us. He looked over to me with such love and support, he would watch over the young ones as I'd teach them new things and he would give me the time I needed to be my best. Life was beautiful, full of love, swimming, learning and teaching. It was a happy life and the love we shared was as strong as the currents under the sea. But every life must come to an end and the end of this life was coming. The Hypnotherapist asked me if I wanted to observe it or experience it, and again, I chose to experience the passing. The day this life ended was another beautiful love filled day with sunlight breaking through the surface, and I could feel its warmth on my eyelids as I rose above the water. At this point I was able to skim the water for extended periods of time and would fly inches above the water for moments at a time. I could feel the air and the wind in my hair and on my skin. I could feel the difference between my skin and scales, but the sunlight was the most amazing sensation. Some men had caught eye of me from a not too distant boat that I hadn't detected. I had been skimming and swimming with my eyes closed for so long I hadn't realized how far I'd gone.

Before I could realize what danger I was in, I had been caught in their net. The scream I let out let the others know something was wrong. Quickly they came for me, my husband leading the way, but by then I was being pulled back and was completely caught in the net. If they had tried to save me it would have exposed them all and could have cost them all their lives. My heart shattered into pieces as my husband looked on and tried to keep the young ones from swimming into danger. “Stay back”, I communicated as I extended my hand to let them know it was done. The men took me onto their boat and the next moment I came to consciousness I was in a lab on a table. I was screaming in the pitch all Aquatic Life communicates in, but there were only fish in tanks around me. My screams disturbed them all and everything began to shake around me as I tried to escape the restraints. I died the moment they cut me open in their curious attempt to understand my anatomy. The Hypnotherapist gave me a moment of silence as I cried in her office. She guided me back to the place of white light from where we can all look back on our life and understand the lessons, gifts, messages. The message from this life was strong and pure - as clear as the water that I'd break through everyday on my attempts to fly - The greatest achievement in life was to love my family, to support one another, and to teach each other. Out of everything I did, loving my family was the best and most rewarding achievement I could have ever hoped for. I lived to teach others how to fly, but my true purpose in life was to love. Now I have the emotion of the lessons from that life story with me that speak to me through the love and encouragement I have now from my husband. It gives depth to the look of love when I look over to him and our children are sitting between us, it reminds me to be great at what my heart speaks of, but most importantly, to love my family because that is was grows and continues through life and time again.

Past Life Regression (PLR) is often used to help discover reasons for repeated patterns of behavior, unexplained medical or physical ailments, to understand recurring dreams. Some people come in to discover who their soul groups are, their partner in past lives or even to understand a relationship with a family member. Past Lives, Future Lives and that space of time in Between lives are all accessible to help clients delve into perspectives that can offer solutions perhaps not seen before. Past life memories are the autobiography of your eternal soul-—personal stories that explain who you are now and why you're here on Earth. Past life regression is a therapeutic technique for accessing and re-experiencing your past lives directly. - Carol Bowman When coming in for a PLR session make sure to have a few things in mind: ● ● ● ● ● ●

Eat enough to be comfortable and lying back for 2-3 hours Use the restroom to ensure no interruptions during the session Come with a desired intention in mind, although that's not always needed Know that not everyone will experience a past life vision in session. It is possible to have the visions come in dreams, at a later time or after a few sessions You cannot stay stuck in a past life or in hypnosis you are always capable and able to open your eyes and count yourself out Past Life Regression is not the same as Age Regression

These sessions can be done as a group event as well as an individual, but the group environment can be distracting and not as therapeutic as the individual session.
