EXPRO PLACES IN MEXICO 2012 Most of the places for Expro in Mexico are in the surroundings areas of Querétaro City, where it is located the only national committee at Tec de Monterrey Campus Querétaro. These give them the chance to use the facilities of the university, and enjoy the different trips organized by the International Program office, and the IAAS Committee. http://www.study-in-mexico.com/ The expro program in Mexico, and the farms involved, cannot provide payment to the students, but in all cases is provided food and accommodation. It is necessary to know English Language, but also a basic of Spanish is recommended.

Rancho Santamarina. Organic dairy ewe farm. ( 2 Places)
This farm is located 15 km from Querétaro City. It is an organic farm specialized in milking ewe, and start getting involve in ecoturistic activities. The main activities to do is to collaborate in the grassing of the sheep, feeding and taking growing rates of the lamb, and help in the cheese making process. Duration: 1- 6 months.

Hacienda Los Azteca. Horse Riding and wine production. (1 Place)
This farm is located 30 km away from Querétaro city, in an old and traditional hacienda field of Mexico. In Hacienda los Azteca organize many events around Charreria (horse riding tradition of Mexico), and produces its own wine. School farm, in collaboration with Bayer Crop Science of Mexico. (3 places)
The school farm is located 20 km away from Queretaro City. Bayer and the school works together in many investigations in horticultural fields. The main duties of the students will be taking count and control of the pest in the fields, and help in the analysis to determine the efficient of these new products. By being involve in the crops management, the expro students will also being involve in activities such as seeding, watering, field preparation in the tractor, harvesting, etc. Duration 1 – 4 months. It is recommended to not get involved in this expro during June and July, because of the researching period.

In School farm. Dairy cows. (3 places)
The School Farm is specialized in Milk production, having a lot of awards in Mexico because of its efficiency. This is the only place of the Expro options where it is necessary to speak a basic level of Spanish since de beginning. It is possible to combine activities in the crop fields and in the cows farm. Duration 1- 6 months.

Rural development project (3 places)
The school works in collaboration with the government of the state of Queretaro, following the methodology of Special Program for Food Security of FAO. The main objective of these projects is to provide food security in communities of high poverty and marginalization. We have already intervened with the implementation of bio intensive crops fields, based on dietary necessities. The next process is to implement projects of chicken cages, fish ponds (in the communities close to a lake or a river), and water collect and saving systems. Duration 1 – 12 months
