CHAPTER1

1Nowitcametopassinthethirtiethyear,inthefourth month,inthefifthdayofthemonth,asIwasamongthe captivesbytheriverofChebar,thattheheavenswere opened,andIsawvisionsofGod.

2Inthefifthdayofthemonth,whichwasthefifthyearof kingJehoiachin'scaptivity,

3ThewordoftheLORDcameexpresslyuntoEzekielthe priest,thesonofBuzi,inthelandoftheChaldeansbythe riverChebar;andthehandoftheLORDwasthereupon him.

4AndIlooked,and,behold,awhirlwindcameoutofthe north,agreatcloud,andafireinfoldingitself,anda brightnesswasaboutit,andoutofthemidstthereofasthe colourofamber,outofthemidstofthefire

5Alsooutofthemidstthereofcamethelikenessoffour livingcreatures.Andthiswastheirappearance;theyhad thelikenessofaman

6Andeveryonehadfourfaces,andeveryonehadfour wings.

7Andtheirfeetwerestraightfeet;andthesoleoftheirfeet waslikethesoleofacalf'sfoot:andtheysparkledlikethe colourofburnishedbrass.

8Andtheyhadthehandsofamanundertheirwingson theirfoursides;andtheyfourhadtheirfacesandtheir wings.

9Theirwingswerejoinedonetoanother;theyturnednot whentheywent;theywenteveryonestraightforward

10Asforthelikenessoftheirfaces,theyfourhadtheface ofaman,andthefaceofalion,ontherightside:andthey fourhadthefaceofanoxontheleftside;theyfouralso hadthefaceofaneagle.

11Thusweretheirfaces:andtheirwingswerestretched upward;twowingsofeveryonewerejoinedonetoanother, andtwocoveredtheirbodies.

12Andtheywenteveryonestraightforward:whitherthe spiritwastogo,theywent;andtheyturnednotwhenthey went

13Asforthelikenessofthelivingcreatures,their appearancewaslikeburningcoalsoffire,andlikethe appearanceoflamps:itwentupanddownamongthe livingcreatures;andthefirewasbright,andoutofthefire wentforthlightning.

14Andthelivingcreaturesranandreturnedasthe appearanceofaflashoflightning

15NowasIbeheldthelivingcreatures,beholdonewheel upontheearthbythelivingcreatures,withhisfourfaces

16Theappearanceofthewheelsandtheirworkwaslike untothecolourofaberyl:andtheyfourhadonelikeness: andtheirappearanceandtheirworkwasasitwereawheel inthemiddleofawheel

17Whentheywent,theywentupontheirfoursides:and theyturnednotwhentheywent

18Asfortheirrings,theyweresohighthattheywere dreadful;andtheirringswerefullofeyesroundaboutthem four

19Andwhenthelivingcreatureswent,thewheelswentby them:andwhenthelivingcreatureswereliftedupfromthe earth,thewheelswereliftedup.

20Whithersoeverthespiritwastogo,theywent,thither wastheirspirittogo;andthewheelswereliftedupover againstthem:forthespiritofthelivingcreaturewasinthe wheels

21Whenthosewent,thesewent;andwhenthosestood, thesestood;andwhenthosewereliftedupfromtheearth, thewheelswereliftedupoveragainstthem:forthespirit ofthelivingcreaturewasinthewheels

22Andthelikenessofthefirmamentupontheheadsofthe livingcreaturewasasthecolouroftheterriblecrystal, stretchedforthovertheirheadsabove

23Andunderthefirmamentweretheirwingsstraight,the onetowardtheother:everyonehadtwo,whichcoveredon thisside,andeveryonehadtwo,whichcoveredonthat side,theirbodies.

24Andwhentheywent,Iheardthenoiseoftheirwings, likethenoiseofgreatwaters,asthevoiceoftheAlmighty, thevoiceofspeech,asthenoiseofanhost:whenthey stood,theyletdowntheirwings

25Andtherewasavoicefromthefirmamentthatwasover theirheads,whentheystood,andhadletdowntheirwings. 26Andabovethefirmamentthatwasovertheirheadswas thelikenessofathrone,astheappearanceofasapphire stone:anduponthelikenessofthethronewasthelikeness astheappearanceofamanaboveuponit

27AndIsawasthecolourofamber,astheappearanceof fireroundaboutwithinit,fromtheappearanceofhisloins evenupward,andfromtheappearanceofhisloinseven downward,Isawasitweretheappearanceoffire,andit hadbrightnessroundabout

28Astheappearanceofthebowthatisinthecloudinthe dayofrain,sowastheappearanceofthebrightnessround about.Thiswastheappearanceofthelikenessoftheglory oftheLORDAndwhenIsawit,Ifelluponmyface,andI heardavoiceofonethatspake.

CHAPTER2

1Andhesaiduntome,Sonofman,standuponthyfeet, andIwillspeakuntothee

2Andthespiritenteredintomewhenhespakeuntome, andsetmeuponmyfeet,thatIheardhimthatspakeunto me

3Andhesaiduntome,Sonofman,Isendtheetothe childrenofIsrael,toarebelliousnationthathathrebelled againstme:theyandtheirfathershavetransgressedagainst me,evenuntothisveryday.

4FortheyareimpudentchildrenandstiffheartedIdosend theeuntothem;andthoushaltsayuntothem,Thussaith theLordGOD.

5Andthey,whethertheywillhear,orwhethertheywill forbear,(fortheyarearebellioushouse,)yetshallknow thattherehathbeenaprophetamongthem.

6Andthou,sonofman,benotafraidofthem,neitherbe afraidoftheirwords,thoughbriersandthornsbewiththee, andthoudostdwellamongscorpions:benotafraidoftheir words,norbedismayedattheirlooks,thoughtheybea rebellioushouse

7Andthoushaltspeakmywordsuntothem,whetherthey willhear,orwhethertheywillforbear:fortheyaremost rebellious

8Butthou,sonofman,hearwhatIsayuntothee;Benot thourebelliouslikethatrebellioushouse:openthymouth, andeatthatIgivethee

9AndwhenIlooked,behold,anhandwassentuntome; and,lo,arollofabookwastherein;

10Andhespreaditbeforeme;anditwaswrittenwithin andwithout:andtherewaswrittenthereinlamentations, andmourning,andwoe

CHAPTER3

1Moreoverhesaiduntome,Sonofman,eatthatthou findest;eatthisroll,andgospeakuntothehouseofIsrael.

2SoIopenedmymouth,andhecausedmetoeatthatroll

3Andhesaiduntome,Sonofman,causethybellytoeat, andfillthybowelswiththisrollthatIgivethee.ThendidI eatit;anditwasinmymouthashoneyforsweetness

4Andhesaiduntome,Sonofman,go,gettheeuntothe houseofIsrael,andspeakwithmywordsuntothem.

5Forthouartnotsenttoapeopleofastrangespeechand ofanhardlanguage,buttothehouseofIsrael;

6Nottomanypeopleofastrangespeechandofanhard language,whosewordsthoucanstnotunderstandSurely, hadIsenttheetothem,theywouldhavehearkenedunto thee.

7ButthehouseofIsraelwillnothearkenuntothee;for theywillnothearkenuntome:forallthehouseofIsrael areimpudentandhardhearted.

8Behold,Ihavemadethyfacestrongagainsttheirfaces, andthyforeheadstrongagainsttheirforeheads

9AsanadamantharderthanflinthaveImadethyforehead: fearthemnot,neitherbedismayedattheirlooks,though theybearebellioushouse

10Moreoverhesaiduntome,Sonofman,allmywords thatIshallspeakuntotheereceiveinthineheart,andhear withthineears

11Andgo,gettheetothemofthecaptivity,untothe childrenofthypeople,andspeakuntothem,andtellthem, ThussaiththeLordGOD;whethertheywillhear,or whethertheywillforbear.

12Thenthespirittookmeup,andIheardbehindmea voiceofagreatrushing,saying,Blessedbethegloryofthe LORDfromhisplace.

13Iheardalsothenoiseofthewingsoftheliving creaturesthattouchedoneanother,andthenoiseofthe wheelsoveragainstthem,andanoiseofagreatrushing

14Sothespiritliftedmeup,andtookmeaway,andIwent inbitterness,intheheatofmyspirit;butthehandofthe LORDwasstronguponme.

15ThenIcametothemofthecaptivityatTelabib,that dweltbytheriverofChebar,andIsatwheretheysat,and remainedthereastonishedamongthemsevendays

16Anditcametopassattheendofsevendays,thatthe wordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 17Sonofman,Ihavemadetheeawatchmanuntothe houseofIsrael:thereforehearthewordatmymouth,and givethemwarningfromme.

18WhenIsayuntothewicked,Thoushaltsurelydie;and thougivesthimnotwarning,norspeakesttowarnthe

wickedfromhiswickedway,tosavehislife;thesame wickedmanshalldieinhisiniquity;buthisbloodwillI requireatthinehand

19Yetifthouwarnthewicked,andheturnnotfromhis wickedness,norfromhiswickedway,heshalldieinhis iniquity;butthouhastdeliveredthysoul

20Again,Whenarighteousmandothturnfromhis righteousness,andcommitiniquity,andIlaya stumblingblockbeforehim,heshalldie:becausethouhast notgivenhimwarning,heshalldieinhissin,andhis righteousnesswhichhehathdoneshallnotberemembered; buthisbloodwillIrequireatthinehand

21Neverthelessifthouwarntherighteousman,thatthe righteoussinnot,andhedothnotsin,heshallsurelylive, becauseheiswarned;alsothouhastdeliveredthysoul

22AndthehandoftheLORDwasthereuponme;andhe saiduntome,Arise,goforthintotheplain,andIwillthere talkwiththee

23ThenIarose,andwentforthintotheplain:and,behold, thegloryoftheLORDstoodthere,astheglorywhichI sawbytheriverofChebar:andIfellonmyface

24Thenthespiritenteredintome,andsetmeuponmyfeet, andspakewithme,andsaiduntome,Go,shutthyself withinthinehouse

25Butthou,Osonofman,behold,theyshallputbands uponthee,andshallbindtheewiththem,andthoushaltnot gooutamongthem:

26AndIwillmakethytonguecleavetotheroofofthy mouth,thatthoushaltbedumb,andshaltnotbetothema reprover:fortheyarearebellioushouse

27ButwhenIspeakwiththee,Iwillopenthymouth,and thoushaltsayuntothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD;He thatheareth,lethimhear;andhethatforbeareth,lethim forbear:fortheyarearebellioushouse.

CHAPTER4

1Thoualso,sonofman,taketheeatile,andlayitbefore thee,andpourtrayuponitthecity,evenJerusalem:

2Andlaysiegeagainstit,andbuildafortagainstit,and castamountagainstit;setthecampalsoagainstit,andset batteringramsagainstitroundabout

3Moreovertakethouuntotheeanironpan,andsetitfora wallofironbetweentheeandthecity:andsetthyface againstit,anditshallbebesieged,andthoushaltlaysiege againstit.ThisshallbeasigntothehouseofIsrael.

4Liethoualsouponthyleftside,andlaytheiniquityof thehouseofIsraeluponit:accordingtothenumberofthe daysthatthoushaltlieuponitthoushaltbeartheiriniquity

5ForIhavelaidupontheetheyearsoftheiriniquity, accordingtothenumberofthedays,threehundredand ninetydays:soshaltthoubeartheiniquityofthehouseof Israel

6Andwhenthouhastaccomplishedthem,lieagainonthy rightside,andthoushaltbeartheiniquityofthehouseof Judahfortydays:Ihaveappointedtheeeachdayforayear 7Thereforethoushaltsetthyfacetowardthesiegeof Jerusalem,andthinearmshallbeuncovered,andthoushalt prophesyagainstit

8And,behold,Iwilllaybandsuponthee,andthoushalt notturntheefromonesidetoanother,tillthouhastended thedaysofthysiege

9Takethoualsountotheewheat,andbarley,andbeans, andlentiles,andmillet,andfitches,andputtheminone vessel,andmaketheebreadthereof,accordingtothe numberofthedaysthatthoushaltlieuponthyside,three hundredandninetydaysshaltthoueatthereof.

10Andthymeatwhichthoushalteatshallbebyweight, twentyshekelsaday:fromtimetotimeshaltthoueatit 11Thoushaltdrinkalsowaterbymeasure,thesixthpartof anhin:fromtimetotimeshaltthoudrink 12Andthoushalteatitasbarleycakes,andthoushalt bakeitwithdungthatcomethoutofman,intheirsight 13AndtheLORDsaid,Eventhusshallthechildrenof IsraeleattheirdefiledbreadamongtheGentiles,whitherI willdrivethem

14ThensaidI,AhLordGOD!behold,mysoulhathnot beenpolluted:forfrommyyouthupeventillnowhaveI noteatenofthatwhichdiethofitself,oristorninpieces; neithercamethereabominablefleshintomymouth 15Thenhesaiduntome,Lo,Ihavegiventheecow'sdung forman'sdung,andthoushaltpreparethybreadtherewith 16Moreoverhesaiduntome,Sonofman,behold,Iwill breakthestaffofbreadinJerusalem:andtheyshalleat breadbyweight,andwithcare;andtheyshalldrinkwater bymeasure,andwithastonishment:

17Thattheymaywantbreadandwater,andbeastonied onewithanother,andconsumeawayfortheiriniquity

CHAPTER5

1Andthou,sonofman,taketheeasharpknife,taketheea barber'srazor,andcauseittopassuponthineheadand uponthybeard:thentaketheebalancestoweigh,and dividethehair

2Thoushaltburnwithfireathirdpartinthemidstofthe city,whenthedaysofthesiegearefulfilled:andthoushalt takeathirdpart,andsmiteaboutitwithaknife:andathird partthoushaltscatterinthewind;andIwilldrawouta swordafterthem

3Thoushaltalsotakethereofafewinnumber,andbind theminthyskirts.

4Thentakeofthemagain,andcastthemintothemidstof thefire,andburntheminthefire;forthereofshallafire comeforthintoallthehouseofIsrael.

5ThussaiththeLordGOD;ThisisJerusalem:Ihavesetit inthemidstofthenationsandcountriesthatareround abouther.

6Andshehathchangedmyjudgmentsintowickedness morethanthenations,andmystatutesmorethanthe countriesthatareroundabouther:fortheyhaverefused myjudgmentsandmystatutes,theyhavenotwalkedin them

7ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Becauseye multipliedmorethanthenationsthatareroundaboutyou, andhavenotwalkedinmystatutes,neitherhavekeptmy judgments,neitherhavedoneaccordingtothejudgments ofthenationsthatareroundaboutyou;

8ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,I,evenI,am againstthee,andwillexecutejudgmentsinthemidstof theeinthesightofthenations

9AndIwilldointheethatwhichIhavenotdone,and whereuntoIwillnotdoanymorethelike,becauseofall thineabominations

10Thereforethefathersshalleatthesonsinthemidstof thee,andthesonsshalleattheirfathers;andIwillexecute judgmentsinthee,andthewholeremnantoftheewillI scatterintoallthewinds.

11Wherefore,asIlive,saiththeLordGOD;Surely, becausethouhastdefiledmysanctuarywithallthy detestablethings,andwithallthineabominations, thereforewillIalsodiminishthee;neithershallmineeye spare,neitherwillIhaveanypity

12Athirdpartoftheeshalldiewiththepestilence,and withfamineshalltheybeconsumedinthemidstofthee: andathirdpartshallfallbytheswordroundaboutthee; andIwillscatterathirdpartintoallthewinds,andIwill drawoutaswordafterthem

13Thusshallmineangerbeaccomplished,andIwillcause myfurytorestuponthem,andIwillbecomforted:and theyshallknowthatItheLORDhavespokenitinmyzeal, whenIhaveaccomplishedmyfuryinthem

14MoreoverIwillmaketheewaste,andareproachamong thenationsthatareroundaboutthee,inthesightofallthat passby

15Soitshallbeareproachandataunt,aninstructionand anastonishmentuntothenationsthatareroundaboutthee, whenIshallexecutejudgmentsintheeinangerandinfury andinfuriousrebukes.ItheLORDhavespokenit.

16WhenIshallsenduponthemtheevilarrowsoffamine, whichshallbefortheirdestruction,andwhichIwillsend todestroyyou:andIwillincreasethefamineuponyou, andwillbreakyourstaffofbread:

17SowillIsenduponyoufamineandevilbeasts,andthey shallbereavethee;andpestilenceandbloodshallpass throughthee;andIwillbringtheswordupontheeIthe LORDhavespokenit

CHAPTER6

1AndthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,setthyfacetowardthemountainsofIsrael, andprophesyagainstthem,

3Andsay,YemountainsofIsrael,hearthewordofthe LordGOD;ThussaiththeLordGODtothemountains, andtothehills,totherivers,andtothevalleys;Behold,I, evenI,willbringasworduponyou,andIwilldestroyyour highplaces

4Andyouraltarsshallbedesolate,andyourimagesshall bebroken:andIwillcastdownyourslainmenbeforeyour idols

5AndIwilllaythedeadcarcasesofthechildrenofIsrael beforetheiridols;andIwillscatteryourbonesroundabout youraltars

6Inallyourdwellingplacesthecitiesshallbelaidwaste, andthehighplacesshallbedesolate;thatyouraltarsmay belaidwasteandmadedesolate,andyouridolsmaybe brokenandcease,andyourimagesmaybecutdown,and yourworksmaybeabolished

7Andtheslainshallfallinthemidstofyou,andyeshall knowthatIamtheLORD.

8YetwillIleavearemnant,thatyemayhavesomethat shallescapetheswordamongthenations,whenyeshallbe scatteredthroughthecountries.

9Andtheythatescapeofyoushallremembermeamong thenationswhithertheyshallbecarriedcaptives,becauseI

ambrokenwiththeirwhorishheart,whichhathdeparted fromme,andwiththeireyes,whichgoawhoringafter theiridols:andtheyshalllothethemselvesfortheevils whichtheyhavecommittedinalltheirabominations.

10AndtheyshallknowthatIamtheLORD,andthatI havenotsaidinvainthatIwoulddothiseviluntothem

11ThussaiththeLordGOD;Smitewiththinehand,and stampwiththyfoot,andsay,Alasforalltheevil abominationsofthehouseofIsrael!fortheyshallfallby thesword,bythefamine,andbythepestilence

12Hethatisfaroffshalldieofthepestilence;andhethat isnearshallfallbythesword;andhethatremainethandis besiegedshalldiebythefamine:thuswillIaccomplishmy furyuponthem

13ThenshallyeknowthatIamtheLORD,whentheir slainmenshallbeamongtheiridolsroundabouttheir altars,uponeveryhighhill,inallthetopsofthemountains, andundereverygreentree,andundereverythickoak,the placewheretheydidoffersweetsavourtoalltheiridols.

14SowillIstretchoutmyhanduponthem,andmakethe landdesolate,yea,moredesolatethanthewilderness towardDiblath,inalltheirhabitations:andtheyshallknow thatIamtheLORD

CHAPTER7

1MoreoverthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 2Also,thousonofman,thussaiththeLordGODuntothe landofIsrael;Anend,theendiscomeuponthefour cornersoftheland

3Nowistheendcomeuponthee,andIwillsendmine angeruponthee,andwilljudgetheeaccordingtothyways, andwillrecompenseupontheeallthineabominations

4Andmineeyeshallnotsparethee,neitherwillIhave pity:butIwillrecompensethywaysuponthee,andthine abominationsshallbeinthemidstofthee:andyeshall knowthatIamtheLORD.

5ThussaiththeLordGOD;Anevil,anonlyevil,behold, iscome

6Anendiscome,theendiscome:itwatchethforthee; behold,itiscome

7Themorningiscomeuntothee,Othouthatdwellestin theland:thetimeiscome,thedayoftroubleisnear,and notthesoundingagainofthemountains

8NowwillIshortlypouroutmyfuryuponthee,and accomplishmineangeruponthee:andIwilljudgethee accordingtothyways,andwillrecompensetheeforall thineabominations.

9Andmineeyeshallnotspare,neitherwillIhavepity:I willrecompensetheeaccordingtothywaysandthine abominationsthatareinthemidstofthee;andyeshall knowthatIamtheLORDthatsmiteth.

10Beholdtheday,behold,itiscome:themorningisgone forth;therodhathblossomed,pridehathbudded

11Violenceisrisenupintoarodofwickedness:noneof themshallremain,noroftheirmultitude,norofanyof theirs:neithershalltherebewailingforthem.

12Thetimeiscome,thedaydrawethnear:letnotthe buyerrejoice,northesellermourn:forwrathisuponall themultitudethereof.

13Forthesellershallnotreturntothatwhichissold, althoughtheywereyetalive:forthevisionistouchingthe

wholemultitudethereof,whichshallnotreturn;neither shallanystrengthenhimselfintheiniquityofhislife.

14Theyhaveblownthetrumpet,eventomakeallready; butnonegoethtothebattle:formywrathisuponallthe multitudethereof.

15Theswordiswithout,andthepestilenceandthefamine within:hethatisinthefieldshalldiewiththesword;and hethatisinthecity,famineandpestilenceshalldevour him

16Buttheythatescapeofthemshallescape,andshallbe onthemountainslikedovesofthevalleys,allofthem mourning,everyoneforhisiniquity

17Allhandsshallbefeeble,andallkneesshallbeweakas water

18Theyshallalsogirdthemselveswithsackcloth,and horrorshallcoverthem;andshameshallbeuponallfaces, andbaldnessuponalltheirheads

19Theyshallcasttheirsilverinthestreets,andtheirgold shallberemoved:theirsilverandtheirgoldshallnotbe abletodelivertheminthedayofthewrathoftheLORD: theyshallnotsatisfytheirsouls,neitherfilltheirbowels: becauseitisthestumblingblockoftheiriniquity.

20Asforthebeautyofhisornament,hesetitinmajesty: buttheymadetheimagesoftheirabominationsandoftheir detestablethingstherein:thereforehaveIsetitfarfrom them

21AndIwillgiveitintothehandsofthestrangersfora prey,andtothewickedoftheearthforaspoil;andthey shallpolluteit

22MyfacewillIturnalsofromthem,andtheyshall pollutemysecretplace:fortherobbersshallenterintoit, anddefileit

23Makeachain:forthelandisfullofbloodycrimes,and thecityisfullofviolence.

24WhereforeIwillbringtheworstoftheheathen,and theyshallpossesstheirhouses:Iwillalsomakethepomp ofthestrongtocease;andtheirholyplacesshallbedefiled.

25Destructioncometh;andtheyshallseekpeace,and thereshallbenone

26Mischiefshallcomeuponmischief,andrumourshallbe uponrumour;thenshalltheyseekavisionoftheprophet; butthelawshallperishfromthepriest,andcounselfrom theancients.

27Thekingshallmourn,andtheprinceshallbeclothed withdesolation,andthehandsofthepeopleoftheland shallbetroubled:Iwilldountothemaftertheirway,and accordingtotheirdesertswillIjudgethem;andtheyshall knowthatIamtheLORD.

CHAPTER8

1Anditcametopassinthesixthyear,inthesixthmonth, inthefifthdayofthemonth,asIsatinminehouse,andthe eldersofJudahsatbeforeme,thatthehandoftheLord GODfellthereuponme

2ThenIbeheld,andloalikenessastheappearanceoffire: fromtheappearanceofhisloinsevendownward,fire;and fromhisloinsevenupward,astheappearanceof brightness,asthecolourofamber

3Andheputforththeformofanhand,andtookmebya lockofminehead;andthespiritliftedmeupbetweenthe earthandtheheaven,andbroughtmeinthevisionsofGod

toJerusalem,tothedooroftheinnergatethatlooketh towardthenorth;wherewastheseatoftheimageof jealousy,whichprovokethtojealousy 4And,behold,thegloryoftheGodofIsraelwasthere, accordingtothevisionthatIsawintheplain.

5Thensaidheuntome,Sonofman,liftupthineeyesnow thewaytowardthenorthSoIliftedupmineeyestheway towardthenorth,andbeholdnorthwardatthegateofthe altarthisimageofjealousyintheentry

6Hesaidfurthermoreuntome,Sonofman,seestthou whattheydo?eventhegreatabominationsthatthehouse ofIsraelcommittethhere,thatIshouldgofarofffrommy sanctuary?butturntheeyetagain,andthoushaltsee greaterabominations

7Andhebroughtmetothedoorofthecourt;andwhenI looked,beholdaholeinthewall.

1Hecriedalsoinmineearswithaloudvoice,saying, Causethemthathavechargeoverthecitytodrawnear, eveneverymanwithhisdestroyingweaponinhishand

2And,behold,sixmencamefromthewayofthehigher gate,whichliethtowardthenorth,andeverymana slaughterweaponinhishand;andonemanamongthem

wasclothedwithlinen,withawriter'sinkhornbyhisside: andtheywentin,andstoodbesidethebrasenaltar.

3AndthegloryoftheGodofIsraelwasgoneupfromthe cherub,whereuponhewas,tothethresholdofthehouse. Andhecalledtothemanclothedwithlinen,whichhadthe writer'sinkhornbyhisside;

4AndtheLORDsaiduntohim,Gothroughthemidstof thecity,throughthemidstofJerusalem,andsetamark upontheforeheadsofthementhatsighandthatcryforall theabominationsthatbedoneinthemidstthereof

5Andtotheothershesaidinminehearing,Goyeafter himthroughthecity,andsmite:letnotyoureyespare, neitherhaveyepity:

6Slayutterlyoldandyoung,bothmaids,andlittlechildren, andwomen:butcomenotnearanymanuponwhomisthe mark;andbeginatmysanctuary.Thentheybeganatthe ancientmenwhichwerebeforethehouse

7Andhesaiduntothem,Defilethehouse,andfillthe courtswiththeslain:goyeforth.Andtheywentforth,and slewinthecity

8Anditcametopass,whiletheywereslayingthem,andI wasleft,thatIfelluponmyface,andcried,andsaid,Ah LordGOD!wiltthoudestroyalltheresidueofIsraelinthy pouringoutofthyfuryuponJerusalem?

9Thensaidheuntome,TheiniquityofthehouseofIsrael andJudahisexceedinggreat,andthelandisfullofblood, andthecityfullofperverseness:fortheysay,TheLORD hathforsakentheearth,andtheLORDseethnot.

10Andasformealso,mineeyeshallnotspare,neither willIhavepity,butIwillrecompensetheirwayupontheir head.

11And,behold,themanclothedwithlinen,whichhadthe inkhornbyhisside,reportedthematter,saying,Ihave doneasthouhastcommandedme.

1ThenIlooked,and,behold,inthefirmamentthatwas abovetheheadofthecherubimsthereappearedoverthem asitwereasapphirestone,astheappearanceofthe likenessofathrone

2Andhespakeuntothemanclothedwithlinen,andsaid, Goinbetweenthewheels,evenunderthecherub,andfill thinehandwithcoalsoffirefrombetweenthecherubims, andscatterthemoverthecityAndhewentininmysight 3Nowthecherubimsstoodontherightsideofthehouse, whenthemanwentin;andthecloudfilledtheinnercourt 4ThenthegloryoftheLORDwentupfromthecherub, andstoodoverthethresholdofthehouse;andthehouse wasfilledwiththecloud,andthecourtwasfullofthe brightnessoftheLORD'Sglory

5Andthesoundofthecherubims'wingswasheardevento theoutercourt,asthevoiceoftheAlmightyGodwhenhe speaketh

6Anditcametopass,thatwhenhehadcommandedthe manclothedwithlinen,saying,Takefirefrombetweenthe wheels,frombetweenthecherubims;thenhewentin,and stoodbesidethewheels

7Andonecherubstretchedforthhishandfrombetween thecherubimsuntothefirethatwasbetweenthecherubims, andtookthereof,andputitintothehandsofhimthatwas clothedwithlinen:whotookit,andwentout

8Andthereappearedinthecherubimstheformofaman's handundertheirwings.

9AndwhenIlooked,beholdthefourwheelsbythe cherubims,onewheelbyonecherub,andanotherwheelby anothercherub:andtheappearanceofthewheelswasas thecolourofaberylstone

10Andasfortheirappearances,theyfourhadonelikeness, asifawheelhadbeeninthemidstofawheel.

11Whentheywent,theywentupontheirfoursides;they turnednotastheywent,buttotheplacewhitherthehead lookedtheyfollowedit;theyturnednotastheywent 12Andtheirwholebody,andtheirbacks,andtheirhands, andtheirwings,andthewheels,werefullofeyesround about,eventhewheelsthattheyfourhad 13Asforthewheels,itwascrieduntotheminmyhearing, Owheel.

14Andeveryonehadfourfaces:thefirstfacewastheface ofacherub,andthesecondfacewasthefaceofaman,and thethirdthefaceofalion,andthefourththefaceofan eagle

15AndthecherubimswereliftedupThisistheliving creaturethatIsawbytheriverofChebar.

16Andwhenthecherubimswent,thewheelswentby them:andwhenthecherubimslifteduptheirwingsto mountupfromtheearth,thesamewheelsalsoturnednot frombesidethem

17Whentheystood,thesestood;andwhentheywere liftedup,theseliftedupthemselvesalso:forthespiritof thelivingcreaturewasinthem

18ThenthegloryoftheLORDdepartedfromoffthe thresholdofthehouse,andstoodoverthecherubims.

19Andthecherubimslifteduptheirwings,andmounted upfromtheearthinmysight:whentheywentout,the wheelsalsowerebesidethem,andeveryonestoodatthe dooroftheeastgateoftheLORD'Shouse;andthegloryof theGodofIsraelwasoverthemabove

20ThisisthelivingcreaturethatIsawundertheGodof IsraelbytheriverofChebar;andIknewthattheywerethe cherubims

21Everyonehadfourfacesapiece,andeveryonefour wings;andthelikenessofthehandsofamanwasunder theirwings

22Andthelikenessoftheirfaceswasthesamefaces whichIsawbytheriverofChebar,theirappearancesand themselves:theywenteveryonestraightforward

1Moreoverthespiritliftedmeup,andbroughtmeuntothe eastgateoftheLORD'Shouse,whichlooketheastward: andbeholdatthedoorofthegatefiveandtwentymen; amongwhomIsawJaazaniahthesonofAzur,andPelatiah thesonofBenaiah,princesofthepeople

2Thensaidheuntome,Sonofman,thesearethementhat devisemischief,andgivewickedcounselinthiscity:

3Whichsay,Itisnotnear;letusbuildhouses:thiscityis thecaldron,andwebetheflesh.

4Thereforeprophesyagainstthem,prophesy,Osonof man

5AndtheSpiritoftheLORDfelluponme,andsaidunto me,Speak;ThussaiththeLORD;Thushaveyesaid,O

houseofIsrael:forIknowthethingsthatcomeintoyour mind,everyoneofthem.

6Yehavemultipliedyourslaininthiscity,andyehave filledthestreetsthereofwiththeslain.

7ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Yourslainwhomye havelaidinthemidstofit,theyaretheflesh,andthiscity isthecaldron:butIwillbringyouforthoutofthemidstof it.

8Yehavefearedthesword;andIwillbringaswordupon you,saiththeLordGOD

9AndIwillbringyououtofthemidstthereof,anddeliver youintothehandsofstrangers,andwillexecutejudgments amongyou.

10Yeshallfallbythesword;Iwilljudgeyouintheborder ofIsrael;andyeshallknowthatIamtheLORD

11Thiscityshallnotbeyourcaldron,neithershallyebe thefleshinthemidstthereof;butIwilljudgeyouinthe borderofIsrael:

12AndyeshallknowthatIamtheLORD:foryehavenot walkedinmystatutes,neitherexecutedmyjudgments,but havedoneafterthemannersoftheheathenthatareround aboutyou.

13Anditcametopass,whenIprophesied,thatPelatiah thesonofBenaiahdiedThenfellIdownuponmyface, andcriedwithaloudvoice,andsaid,AhLordGOD!wilt thoumakeafullendoftheremnantofIsrael?

14AgainthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 15Sonofman,thybrethren,eventhybrethren,themenof thykindred,andallthehouseofIsraelwholly,arethey untowhomtheinhabitantsofJerusalemhavesaid,Getyou farfromtheLORD:untousisthislandgiveninpossession. 16Thereforesay,ThussaiththeLordGOD;AlthoughI havecastthemfaroffamongtheheathen,andalthoughI havescatteredthemamongthecountries,yetwillIbeto themasalittlesanctuaryinthecountrieswheretheyshall come

17Thereforesay,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Iwilleven gatheryoufromthepeople,andassembleyououtofthe countrieswhereyehavebeenscattered,andIwillgiveyou thelandofIsrael.

18Andtheyshallcomethither,andtheyshalltakeaway allthedetestablethingsthereofandalltheabominations thereoffromthence.

19AndIwillgivethemoneheart,andIwillputanew spiritwithinyou;andIwilltakethestonyheartoutoftheir flesh,andwillgivethemanheartofflesh:

20Thattheymaywalkinmystatutes,andkeepmine ordinances,anddothem:andtheyshallbemypeople,and IwillbetheirGod

21Butasforthemwhoseheartwalkethaftertheheartof theirdetestablethingsandtheirabominations,Iwill recompensetheirwayupontheirownheads,saiththeLord GOD

22Thendidthecherubimsliftuptheirwings,andthe wheelsbesidethem;andthegloryoftheGodofIsraelwas overthemabove

23AndthegloryoftheLORDwentupfromthemidstof thecity,andstooduponthemountainwhichisontheeast sideofthecity

24Afterwardsthespirittookmeup,andbroughtmeina visionbytheSpiritofGodintoChaldea,tothemofthe captivitySothevisionthatIhadseenwentupfromme

25ThenIspakeuntothemofthecaptivityallthethings thattheLORDhadshewedme.

CHAPTER12

1ThewordoftheLORDalsocameuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,thoudwellestinthemidstofarebellious house,whichhaveeyestosee,andseenot;theyhaveears tohear,andhearnot:fortheyarearebellioushouse

3Therefore,thousonofman,preparetheestufffor removing,andremovebydayintheirsight;andthoushalt removefromthyplacetoanotherplaceintheirsight:it maybetheywillconsider,thoughtheybearebellious house

4Thenshaltthoubringforththystuffbydayintheirsight, asstuffforremoving:andthoushaltgoforthatevenin theirsight,astheythatgoforthintocaptivity

5Digthouthroughthewallintheirsight,andcarryout thereby.

6Intheirsightshaltthoubearituponthyshoulders,and carryitforthinthetwilight:thoushaltcoverthyface,that thouseenottheground:forIhavesettheeforasignunto thehouseofIsrael

7AndIdidsoasIwascommanded:Ibroughtforthmy stuffbyday,asstuffforcaptivity,andintheevenIdigged throughthewallwithminehand;Ibroughtitforthinthe twilight,andIbareituponmyshoulderintheirsight

8AndinthemorningcamethewordoftheLORDuntome, saying,

9Sonofman,hathnotthehouseofIsrael,therebellious house,saiduntothee,Whatdoestthou?

10Saythouuntothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD;This burdenconcerneththeprinceinJerusalem,andallthe houseofIsraelthatareamongthem.

11Say,Iamyoursign:likeasIhavedone,soshallitbe doneuntothem:theyshallremoveandgointocaptivity

12Andtheprincethatisamongthemshallbearuponhis shoulderinthetwilight,andshallgoforth:theyshalldig throughthewalltocarryoutthereby:heshallcoverhis face,thatheseenotthegroundwithhiseyes.

13MynetalsowillIspreaduponhim,andheshallbe takeninmysnare:andIwillbringhimtoBabylontothe landoftheChaldeans;yetshallhenotseeit,thoughhe shalldiethere

14AndIwillscattertowardeverywindallthatareabout himtohelphim,andallhisbands;andIwilldrawoutthe swordafterthem

15AndtheyshallknowthatIamtheLORD,whenIshall scatterthemamongthenations,anddispersetheminthe countries

16ButIwillleaveafewmenofthemfromthesword, fromthefamine,andfromthepestilence;thattheymay declarealltheirabominationsamongtheheathenwhither theycome;andtheyshallknowthatIamtheLORD 17MoreoverthewordoftheLORDcametome,saying, 18Sonofman,eatthybreadwithquaking,anddrinkthy waterwithtremblingandwithcarefulness; 19Andsayuntothepeopleoftheland,ThussaiththeLord GODoftheinhabitantsofJerusalem,andofthelandof Israel;Theyshalleattheirbreadwithcarefulness,and drinktheirwaterwithastonishment,thatherlandmaybe

desolatefromallthatistherein,becauseoftheviolenceof allthemthatdwelltherein.

20Andthecitiesthatareinhabitedshallbelaidwaste,and thelandshallbedesolate;andyeshallknowthatIamthe LORD.

21AndthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 22Sonofman,whatisthatproverbthatyehaveintheland ofIsrael,saying,Thedaysareprolonged,andeveryvision faileth?

23Tellthemtherefore,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Iwill makethisproverbtocease,andtheyshallnomoreuseitas aproverbinIsrael;butsayuntothem,Thedaysareathand, andtheeffectofeveryvision.

24Forthereshallbenomoreanyvainvisionnorflattering divinationwithinthehouseofIsrael

25ForIamtheLORD:Iwillspeak,andthewordthatI shallspeakshallcometopass;itshallbenomore prolonged:forinyourdays,Orebellioushouse,willIsay theword,andwillperformit,saiththeLordGOD.

26AgainthewordoftheLORDcametome,saying, 27Sonofman,behold,theyofthehouseofIsraelsay,The visionthatheseethisformanydaystocome,andhe prophesiethofthetimesthatarefaroff

28Thereforesayuntothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD; Thereshallnoneofmywordsbeprolongedanymore,but thewordwhichIhavespokenshallbedone,saiththeLord GOD

CHAPTER13

1AndthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,prophesyagainsttheprophetsofIsraelthat prophesy,andsaythouuntothemthatprophesyoutoftheir ownhearts,HearyethewordoftheLORD;

3ThussaiththeLordGOD;Woeuntothefoolishprophets, thatfollowtheirownspirit,andhaveseennothing!

4OIsrael,thyprophetsarelikethefoxesinthedeserts.

5Yehavenotgoneupintothegaps,neithermadeupthe hedgeforthehouseofIsraeltostandinthebattleinthe dayoftheLORD.

6Theyhaveseenvanityandlyingdivination,saying,The LORDsaith:andtheLORDhathnotsentthem:andthey havemadeotherstohopethattheywouldconfirmtheword.

7Haveyenotseenavainvision,andhaveyenotspokena lyingdivination,whereasyesay,TheLORDsaithit;albeit Ihavenotspoken?

8ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Becauseyehave spokenvanity,andseenlies,therefore,behold,Iam againstyou,saiththeLordGOD

9Andminehandshallbeupontheprophetsthatseevanity, andthatdivinelies:theyshallnotbeintheassemblyofmy people,neithershalltheybewritteninthewritingofthe houseofIsrael,neithershalltheyenterintothelandof Israel;andyeshallknowthatIamtheLordGOD

10Because,evenbecausetheyhaveseducedmypeople, saying,Peace;andtherewasnopeace;andonebuiltupa wall,and,lo,othersdaubeditwithuntemperedmorter: 11Sayuntothemwhichdaubitwithuntemperedmorter, thatitshallfall:thereshallbeanoverflowingshower;and ye,Ogreathailstones,shallfall;andastormywindshall rendit

12Lo,whenthewallisfallen,shallitnotbesaiduntoyou, Whereisthedaubingwherewithyehavedaubedit?

13ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Iwillevenrendit withastormywindinmyfury;andthereshallbean overflowingshowerinmineanger,andgreathailstonesin myfurytoconsumeit

14SowillIbreakdownthewallthatyehavedaubedwith untemperedmorter,andbringitdowntotheground,so thatthefoundationthereofshallbediscovered,anditshall fall,andyeshallbeconsumedinthemidstthereof:andye shallknowthatIamtheLORD

15ThuswillIaccomplishmywrathuponthewall,and uponthemthathavedaubeditwithuntemperedmorter, andwillsayuntoyou,Thewallisnomore,neitherthey thatdaubedit;

16Towit,theprophetsofIsraelwhichprophesy concerningJerusalem,andwhichseevisionsofpeacefor her,andthereisnopeace,saiththeLordGOD

17Likewise,thousonofman,setthyfaceagainstthe daughtersofthypeople,whichprophesyoutoftheirown heart;andprophesythouagainstthem,

18Andsay,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Woetothewomen thatsewpillowstoallarmholes,andmakekerchiefsupon theheadofeverystaturetohuntsouls!Willyehuntthe soulsofmypeople,andwillyesavethesoulsalivethat comeuntoyou?

19Andwillyepollutemeamongmypeopleforhandfuls ofbarleyandforpiecesofbread,toslaythesoulsthat shouldnotdie,andtosavethesoulsalivethatshouldnot live,byyourlyingtomypeoplethathearyourlies?

20WhereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iam againstyourpillows,wherewithyetherehuntthesoulsto makethemfly,andIwilltearthemfromyourarms,and willletthesoulsgo,eventhesoulsthatyehunttomake themfly

21YourkerchiefsalsowillItear,anddelivermypeople outofyourhand,andtheyshallbenomoreinyourhandto behunted;andyeshallknowthatIamtheLORD

22Becausewithliesyehavemadetheheartofthe righteoussad,whomIhavenotmadesad;andstrengthened thehandsofthewicked,thatheshouldnotreturnfromhis wickedway,bypromisinghimlife:

23Thereforeyeshallseenomorevanity,nordivine divinations:forIwilldelivermypeopleoutofyourhand: andyeshallknowthatIamtheLORD

CHAPTER14

1ThencamecertainoftheeldersofIsraeluntome,andsat beforeme

2AndthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 3Sonofman,thesemenhavesetuptheiridolsintheir heart,andputthestumblingblockoftheiriniquitybefore theirface:shouldIbeenquiredofatallbythem?

4Thereforespeakuntothem,andsayuntothem,Thus saiththeLordGOD;EverymanofthehouseofIsraelthat settethuphisidolsinhisheart,andputteththe stumblingblockofhisiniquitybeforehisface,andcometh totheprophet;ItheLORDwillanswerhimthatcometh accordingtothemultitudeofhisidols;

5ThatImaytakethehouseofIsraelintheirownheart, becausetheyareallestrangedfrommethroughtheiridols

6ThereforesayuntothehouseofIsrael,Thussaiththe LordGOD;Repent,andturnyourselvesfromyouridols; andturnawayyourfacesfromallyourabominations

7ForeveryoneofthehouseofIsrael,orofthestranger thatsojournethinIsrael,whichseparatethhimselffromme, andsettethuphisidolsinhisheart,andputteththe stumblingblockofhisiniquitybeforehisface,andcometh toaprophettoenquireofhimconcerningme;ItheLORD willanswerhimbymyself:

8AndIwillsetmyfaceagainstthatman,andwillmake himasignandaproverb,andIwillcuthimofffromthe midstofmypeople;andyeshallknowthatIamtheLORD 9Andiftheprophetbedeceivedwhenhehathspokena thing,ItheLORDhavedeceivedthatprophet,andIwill stretchoutmyhanduponhim,andwilldestroyhimfrom themidstofmypeopleIsrael.

10Andtheyshallbearthepunishmentoftheiriniquity:the punishmentoftheprophetshallbeevenasthepunishment ofhimthatseekethuntohim;

11ThatthehouseofIsraelmaygonomoreastrayfromme, neitherbepollutedanymorewithalltheirtransgressions; butthattheymaybemypeople,andImaybetheirGod, saiththeLordGOD

14Thoughthesethreemen,Noah,Daniel,andJob,werein it,theyshoulddeliverbuttheirownsoulsbytheir righteousness,saiththeLordGOD

15IfIcausenoisomebeaststopassthroughtheland,and theyspoilit,sothatitbedesolate,thatnomanmaypass throughbecauseofthebeasts:

3Shallwoodbetakenthereoftodoanywork?orwillmen takeapinofittohanganyvesselthereon?

4Behold,itiscastintothefireforfuel;thefiredevoureth boththeendsofit,andthemidstofitisburnedIsitmeet foranywork?

5Behold,whenitwaswhole,itwasmeetfornowork:how muchlessshallitbemeetyetforanywork,whenthefire hathdevouredit,anditisburned?

6ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Asthevinetree amongthetreesoftheforest,whichIhavegiventothefire forfuel,sowillIgivetheinhabitantsofJerusalem.

4Andasforthynativity,inthedaythouwastbornthy navelwasnotcut,neitherwastthouwashedinwaterto supplethee;thouwastnotsaltedatall,norswaddledatall

5Noneeyepitiedthee,todoanyoftheseuntothee,to havecompassionuponthee;butthouwastcastoutinthe openfield,tothelothingofthyperson,inthedaythatthou wastborn.

6AndwhenIpassedbythee,andsawtheepollutedin thineownblood,Isaiduntotheewhenthouwastinthy blood,Live;yea,Isaiduntotheewhenthouwastinthy blood,Live

7Ihavecausedtheetomultiplyasthebudofthefield,and thouhastincreasedandwaxengreat,andthouartcometo excellentornaments:thybreastsarefashioned,andthine hairisgrown,whereasthouwastnakedandbare

8NowwhenIpassedbythee,andlookeduponthee, behold,thytimewasthetimeoflove;andIspreadmyskirt overthee,andcoveredthynakedness:yea,Iswareunto thee,andenteredintoacovenantwiththee,saiththeLord GOD,andthoubecamestmine

9ThenwashedItheewithwater;yea,Ithroughlywashed awaythybloodfromthee,andIanointedtheewithoil.

10Iclothedtheealsowithbroideredwork,andshodthee withbadgers'skin,andIgirdedtheeaboutwithfinelinen, andIcoveredtheewithsilk

11Ideckedtheealsowithornaments,andIputbracelets uponthyhands,andachainonthyneck.

12AndIputajewelonthyforehead,andearringsinthine ears,andabeautifulcrownuponthinehead

13Thuswastthoudeckedwithgoldandsilver;andthy raimentwasoffinelinen,andsilk,andbroideredwork;

thoudidsteatfineflour,andhoney,andoil:andthouwast exceedingbeautiful,andthoudidstprosperintoakingdom.

14Andthyrenownwentforthamongtheheathenforthy beauty:foritwasperfectthroughmycomeliness,whichI hadputuponthee,saiththeLordGOD.

15Butthoudidsttrustinthineownbeauty,andplayedst theharlotbecauseofthyrenown,andpouredstoutthy fornicationsoneveryonethatpassedby;hisitwas.

16Andofthygarmentsthoudidsttake,anddeckedstthy highplaceswithdiverscolours,andplayedsttheharlot thereupon:thelikethingsshallnotcome,neithershallitbe so

17Thouhastalsotakenthyfairjewelsofmygoldandof mysilver,whichIhadgiventhee,andmadesttothyself imagesofmen,anddidstcommitwhoredomwiththem,

18Andtookestthybroideredgarments,andcoveredst them:andthouhastsetmineoilandmineincensebefore them

19MymeatalsowhichIgavethee,fineflour,andoil,and honey,wherewithIfedthee,thouhastevensetitbefore themforasweetsavour:andthusitwas,saiththeLord GOD.

20Moreoverthouhasttakenthysonsandthydaughters, whomthouhastborneuntome,andthesehastthou sacrificeduntothemtobedevoured.Isthisofthy whoredomsasmallmatter,

21Thatthouhastslainmychildren,anddeliveredthemto causethemtopassthroughthefireforthem?

22Andinallthineabominationsandthywhoredomsthou hastnotrememberedthedaysofthyyouth,whenthouwast nakedandbare,andwastpollutedinthyblood.

23Anditcametopassafterallthywickedness,(woe,woe untothee!saiththeLordGOD;)

24Thatthouhastalsobuiltuntotheeaneminentplace,and hastmadetheeanhighplaceineverystreet

25Thouhastbuiltthyhighplaceateveryheadoftheway, andhastmadethybeautytobeabhorred,andhastopened thyfeettoeveryonethatpassedby,andmultipliedthy whoredoms

26Thouhastalsocommittedfornicationwiththe Egyptiansthyneighbours,greatofflesh;andhastincreased thywhoredoms,toprovokemetoanger

27Behold,thereforeIhavestretchedoutmyhandover thee,andhavediminishedthineordinaryfood,and deliveredtheeuntothewillofthemthathatethee,the daughtersofthePhilistines,whichareashamedofthylewd way

28ThouhastplayedthewhorealsowiththeAssyrians, becausethouwastunsatiable;yea,thouhastplayedthe harlotwiththem,andyetcouldestnotbesatisfied

29Thouhastmoreovermultipliedthyfornicationinthe landofCanaanuntoChaldea;andyetthouwastnot satisfiedherewith

30Howweakisthineheart,saiththeLordGOD,seeing thoudoestallthesethings,theworkofanimperious whorishwoman;

31Inthatthoubuildestthineeminentplaceintheheadof everyway,andmakestthinehighplaceineverystreet;and hastnotbeenasanharlot,inthatthouscornesthire; 32Butasawifethatcommittethadultery,whichtaketh strangersinsteadofherhusband!

33Theygivegiftstoallwhores:butthougivestthygiftsto allthylovers,andhirestthem,thattheymaycomeunto theeoneverysideforthywhoredom

34Andthecontraryisintheefromotherwomeninthy whoredoms,whereasnonefolloweththeetocommit whoredoms:andinthatthougivestareward,andno rewardisgivenuntothee,thereforethouartcontrary

35Wherefore,Oharlot,hearthewordoftheLORD:

36ThussaiththeLordGOD;Becausethyfilthinesswas pouredout,andthynakednessdiscoveredthroughthy whoredomswiththylovers,andwithalltheidolsofthy abominations,andbythebloodofthychildren,whichthou didstgiveuntothem;

37Behold,thereforeIwillgatherallthylovers,withwhom thouhasttakenpleasure,andallthemthatthouhastloved, withallthemthatthouhasthated;Iwillevengatherthem roundaboutagainstthee,andwilldiscoverthynakedness untothem,thattheymayseeallthynakedness

40Theyshallalsobringupacompanyagainstthee,and theyshallstonetheewithstones,andthrusttheethrough withtheirswords.

41Andtheyshallburnthinehouseswithfire,andexecute judgmentsupontheeinthesightofmanywomen:andI willcausetheetoceasefromplayingtheharlot,andthou alsoshaltgivenohireanymore

42SowillImakemyfurytowardtheetorest,andmy jealousyshalldepartfromthee,andIwillbequiet,andwill benomoreangry

43Becausethouhastnotrememberedthedaysofthy youth,buthastfrettedmeinallthesethings;behold, thereforeIalsowillrecompensethywayuponthinehead, saiththeLordGOD:andthoushaltnotcommitthis lewdnessaboveallthineabominations.

44Behold,everyonethatusethproverbsshallusethis proverbagainstthee,saying,Asisthemother,soisher daughter.

45Thouartthymother'sdaughter,thatlothethherhusband andherchildren;andthouartthesisterofthysisters, whichlothedtheirhusbandsandtheirchildren:your motherwasanHittite,andyourfatheranAmorite

46AndthineeldersisterisSamaria,sheandherdaughters thatdwellatthylefthand:andthyyoungersister,that dwellethatthyrighthand,isSodomandherdaughters

47Yethastthounotwalkedaftertheirways,nordoneafter theirabominations:but,asifthatwereaverylittlething, thouwastcorruptedmorethantheyinallthyways

48AsIlive,saiththeLordGOD,Sodomthysisterhathnot done,shenorherdaughters,asthouhastdone,thouand thydaughters

49Behold,thiswastheiniquityofthysisterSodom,pride, fulnessofbread,andabundanceofidlenesswasinherand inherdaughters,neitherdidshestrengthenthehandofthe poorandneedy.

50Andtheywerehaughty,andcommittedabomination beforeme:thereforeItookthemawayasIsawgood

51NeitherhathSamariacommittedhalfofthysins;but thouhastmultipliedthineabominationsmorethanthey, andhastjustifiedthysistersinallthineabominations whichthouhastdone.

52Thoualso,whichhastjudgedthysisters,bearthineown shameforthysinsthatthouhastcommittedmore abominablethanthey:theyaremorerighteousthanthou: yea,bethouconfoundedalso,andbearthyshame,inthat thouhastjustifiedthysisters

53WhenIshallbringagaintheircaptivity,thecaptivityof Sodomandherdaughters,andthecaptivityofSamariaand herdaughters,thenwillIbringagainthecaptivityofthy captivesinthemidstofthem:

54Thatthoumayestbearthineownshame,andmayestbe confoundedinallthatthouhastdone,inthatthouarta comfortuntothem.

55Whenthysisters,Sodomandherdaughters,shallreturn totheirformerestate,andSamariaandherdaughtersshall returntotheirformerestate,thenthouandthydaughters shallreturntoyourformerestate

56ForthysisterSodomwasnotmentionedbythymouth inthedayofthypride,

57Beforethywickednesswasdiscovered,asatthetimeof thyreproachofthedaughtersofSyria,andallthatare roundabouther,thedaughtersofthePhilistines,which despisetheeroundabout

58Thouhastbornethylewdnessandthineabominations, saiththeLORD.

59ForthussaiththeLordGOD;Iwillevendealwiththee asthouhastdone,whichhastdespisedtheoathinbreaking thecovenant.

3Andsay,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Agreateaglewith greatwings,longwinged,fulloffeathers,whichhaddivers colours,cameuntoLebanon,andtookthehighestbranch ofthecedar:

4Hecroppedoffthetopofhisyoungtwigs,andcarriedit intoalandoftraffick;hesetitinacityofmerchants

5Hetookalsooftheseedoftheland,andplanteditina fruitfulfield;heplaceditbygreatwaters,andsetitasa willowtree

6Anditgrew,andbecameaspreadingvineoflowstature, whosebranchesturnedtowardhim,andtherootsthereof

wereunderhim:soitbecameavine,andbroughtforth branches,andshotforthsprigs.

13Andhathtakenoftheking'sseed,andmadeacovenant withhim,andhathtakenanoathofhim:hehathalsotaken themightyoftheland:

14Thatthekingdommightbebase,thatitmightnotlift itselfup,butthatbykeepingofhiscovenantitmightstand

15Butherebelledagainsthiminsendinghisambassadors intoEgypt,thattheymightgivehimhorsesandmuch peopleShallheprosper?shallheescapethatdoethsuch things?orshallhebreakthecovenant,andbedelivered?

17NeithershallPharaohwithhismightyarmyandgreat companymakeforhiminthewar,bycastingupmounts, andbuildingforts,tocutoffmanypersons:

18Seeinghedespisedtheoathbybreakingthecovenant, when,lo,hehadgivenhishand,andhathdoneallthese things,heshallnotescape

19ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;AsIlive,surely mineoaththathehathdespised,andmycovenantthathe hathbroken,evenitwillIrecompenseuponhisownhead

20AndIwillspreadmynetuponhim,andheshallbe takeninmysnare,andIwillbringhimtoBabylon,and willpleadwithhimthereforhistrespassthathehath trespassedagainstme.

21Andallhisfugitiveswithallhisbandsshallfallbythe sword,andtheythatremainshallbescatteredtowardall winds:andyeshallknowthatItheLORDhavespokenit

22ThussaiththeLordGOD;Iwillalsotakeofthehighest branchofthehighcedar,andwillsetit;Iwillcropoff fromthetopofhisyoungtwigsatenderone,andwillplant ituponanhighmountainandeminent: 23InthemountainoftheheightofIsraelwillIplantit:and itshallbringforthboughs,andbearfruit,andbeagoodly cedar:andunderitshalldwellallfowlofeverywing;in theshadowofthebranchesthereofshalltheydwell 24AndallthetreesofthefieldshallknowthatItheLORD havebroughtdownthehightree,haveexaltedthelowtree,

4Behold,allsoulsaremine;asthesoulofthefather,so alsothesoulofthesonismine:thesoulthatsinneth,it shalldie

5Butifamanbejust,anddothatwhichislawfulandright, 6Andhathnoteatenuponthemountains,neitherhath lifteduphiseyestotheidolsofthehouseofIsrael,neither hathdefiledhisneighbour'swife,neitherhathcomenearto amenstruouswoman,

19Yetsayye,Why?dothnotthesonbeartheiniquityof thefather?Whenthesonhathdonethatwhichislawful andright,andhathkeptallmystatutes,andhathdonethem, heshallsurelylive

20Thesoulthatsinneth,itshalldieThesonshallnotbear theiniquityofthefather,neithershallthefatherbearthe iniquityoftheson:therighteousnessoftherighteousshall beuponhim,andthewickednessofthewickedshallbe uponhim.

21Butifthewickedwillturnfromallhissinsthathehath committed,andkeepallmystatutes,anddothatwhichis lawfulandright,heshallsurelylive,heshallnotdie.

22Allhistransgressionsthathehathcommitted,theyshall notbementioneduntohim:inhisrighteousnessthathe hathdoneheshalllive

23HaveIanypleasureatallthatthewickedshoulddie? saiththeLordGOD:andnotthatheshouldreturnfromhis ways,andlive?

26Whenarighteousmanturnethawayfromhis righteousness,andcommittethiniquity,anddiethinthem; forhisiniquitythathehathdoneshallhedie

27Again,whenthewickedmanturnethawayfromhis wickednessthathehathcommitted,anddoeththatwhichis lawfulandright,heshallsavehissoulalive

28Becauseheconsidereth,andturnethawayfromallhis transgressionsthathehathcommitted,heshallsurelylive, heshallnotdie

4Thenationsalsoheardofhim;hewastakenintheirpit, andtheybroughthimwithchainsuntothelandofEgypt

10Thymotherislikeavineinthyblood,plantedbythe waters:shewasfruitfulandfullofbranchesbyreasonof manywaters.

11Andshehadstrongrodsforthesceptresofthemthat barerule,andherstaturewasexaltedamongthethick branches,andsheappearedinherheightwiththemultitude ofherbranches

12Butshewaspluckedupinfury,shewascastdownto theground,andtheeastwinddriedupherfruit:herstrong rodswerebrokenandwithered;thefireconsumedthem 13Andnowsheisplantedinthewilderness,inadryand thirstyground.

14Andfireisgoneoutofarodofherbranches,which hathdevouredherfruit,sothatshehathnostrongrodtobe asceptretorule.Thisisalamentation,andshallbefora lamentation

1Anditcametopassintheseventhyear,inthefifth month,thetenthdayofthemonth,thatcertainoftheelders ofIsraelcametoenquireoftheLORD,andsatbeforeme 2ThencamethewordoftheLORDuntome,saying, 3Sonofman,speakuntotheeldersofIsrael,andsayunto them,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Areyecometoenquireof me?AsIlive,saiththeLordGOD,Iwillnotbeenquired ofbyyou.

4Wiltthoujudgethem,sonofman,wiltthoujudgethem? causethemtoknowtheabominationsoftheirfathers:

5Andsayuntothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Intheday whenIchoseIsrael,andliftedupminehanduntotheseed ofthehouseofJacob,andmademyselfknownuntothem inthelandofEgypt,whenIliftedupminehanduntothem, saying,IamtheLORDyourGod;

6InthedaythatIliftedupminehanduntothem,tobring themforthofthelandofEgyptintoalandthatIhadespied forthem,flowingwithmilkandhoney,whichistheglory ofalllands:

7ThensaidIuntothem,Castyeawayeverymanthe abominationsofhiseyes,anddefilenotyourselveswith theidolsofEgypt:IamtheLORDyourGod

8Buttheyrebelledagainstme,andwouldnothearkenunto me:theydidnoteverymancastawaytheabominationsof theireyes,neitherdidtheyforsaketheidolsofEgypt:then Isaid,Iwillpouroutmyfuryuponthem,toaccomplish myangeragainsttheminthemidstofthelandofEgypt

9ButIwroughtformyname'ssake,thatitshouldnotbe pollutedbeforetheheathen,amongwhomtheywere,in whosesightImademyselfknownuntothem,inbringing themforthoutofthelandofEgypt.

10WhereforeIcausedthemtogoforthoutofthelandof Egypt,andbroughtthemintothewilderness

11AndIgavethemmystatutes,andshewedthemmy judgments,whichifamando,heshallevenliveinthem.

12MoreoveralsoIgavethemmysabbaths,tobeasign betweenmeandthem,thattheymightknowthatIamthe LORDthatsanctifythem.

13ButthehouseofIsraelrebelledagainstmeinthe wilderness:theywalkednotinmystatutes,andthey despisedmyjudgments,whichifamando,heshalleven liveinthem;andmysabbathstheygreatlypolluted:thenI said,Iwouldpouroutmyfuryupontheminthewilderness, toconsumethem

14ButIwroughtformyname'ssake,thatitshouldnotbe pollutedbeforetheheathen,inwhosesightIbroughtthem out

15YetalsoIliftedupmyhanduntotheminthewilderness, thatIwouldnotbringthemintothelandwhichIhadgiven them,flowingwithmilkandhoney,whichisthegloryof alllands;

16Becausetheydespisedmyjudgments,andwalkednotin mystatutes,butpollutedmysabbaths:fortheirheartwent aftertheiridols

17Neverthelessmineeyesparedthemfromdestroying them,neitherdidImakeanendoftheminthewilderness

18ButIsaiduntotheirchildreninthewilderness,Walkye notinthestatutesofyourfathers,neitherobservetheir judgments,nordefileyourselveswiththeiridols:

19IamtheLORDyourGod;walkinmystatutes,and keepmyjudgments,anddothem;

20Andhallowmysabbaths;andtheyshallbeasign betweenmeandyou,thatyemayknowthatIamthe LORDyourGod.

22NeverthelessIwithdrewminehand,andwroughtfor myname'ssake,thatitshouldnotbepollutedinthesight oftheheathen,inwhosesightIbroughtthemforth.

23Iliftedupminehanduntothemalsointhewilderness, thatIwouldscatterthemamongtheheathen,anddisperse themthroughthecountries;

24Becausetheyhadnotexecutedmyjudgments,buthad despisedmystatutes,andhadpollutedmysabbaths,and theireyeswereaftertheirfathers'idols.

25WhereforeIgavethemalsostatutesthatwerenotgood, andjudgmentswherebytheyshouldnotlive;

26AndIpollutedthemintheirowngifts,inthatthey causedtopassthroughthefireallthatopeneththewomb, thatImightmakethemdesolate,totheendthattheymight knowthatIamtheLORD.

27Therefore,sonofman,speakuntothehouseofIsrael, andsayuntothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Yetinthis yourfathershaveblasphemedme,inthattheyhave committedatrespassagainstme

28ForwhenIhadbroughtthemintotheland,forthe whichIliftedupminehandtogiveittothem,thenthey saweveryhighhill,andallthethicktrees,andtheyoffered theretheirsacrifices,andtheretheypresentedthe provocationoftheiroffering:therealsotheymadetheir sweetsavour,andpouredouttheretheirdrinkofferings

29ThenIsaiduntothem,Whatisthehighplace whereuntoyego?AndthenamethereofiscalledBamah untothisday

30WhereforesayuntothehouseofIsrael,Thussaiththe LordGOD;Areyepollutedafterthemannerofyour fathers?andcommityewhoredomaftertheirabominations?

31Forwhenyeofferyourgifts,whenyemakeyoursons topassthroughthefire,yepolluteyourselveswithallyour idols,evenuntothisday:andshallIbeenquiredofbyyou, OhouseofIsrael?AsIlive,saiththeLordGOD,Iwillnot beenquiredofbyyou

32Andthatwhichcomethintoyourmindshallnotbeatall, thatyesay,Wewillbeastheheathen,asthefamiliesof thecountries,toservewoodandstone

33AsIlive,saiththeLordGOD,surelywithamighty hand,andwithastretchedoutarm,andwithfurypoured out,willIruleoveryou:

34AndIwillbringyououtfromthepeople,andwill gatheryououtofthecountrieswhereinyearescattered, withamightyhand,andwithastretchedoutarm,andwith furypouredout

35AndIwillbringyouintothewildernessofthepeople, andtherewillIpleadwithyoufacetoface

36LikeasIpleadedwithyourfathersinthewildernessof thelandofEgypt,sowillIpleadwithyou,saiththeLord GOD

37AndIwillcauseyoutopassundertherod,andIwill bringyouintothebondofthecovenant:

38AndIwillpurgeoutfromamongyoutherebels,and themthattransgressagainstme:Iwillbringthemforthout ofthecountrywheretheysojourn,andtheyshallnotenter intothelandofIsrael:andyeshallknowthatIamthe LORD

39Asforyou,OhouseofIsrael,thussaiththeLordGOD; Goye,serveyeeveryonehisidols,andhereafteralso,if yewillnothearkenuntome:butpolluteyemyholyname nomorewithyourgifts,andwithyouridols.

40Forinmineholymountain,inthemountainofthe heightofIsrael,saiththeLordGOD,thereshallallthe houseofIsrael,allofthemintheland,serveme:therewill Iacceptthem,andtherewillIrequireyourofferings,and thefirstfruitsofyouroblations,withallyourholythings

41Iwillacceptyouwithyoursweetsavour,whenIbring yououtfromthepeople,andgatheryououtofthe countrieswhereinyehavebeenscattered;andIwillbe sanctifiedinyoubeforetheheathen.

42AndyeshallknowthatIamtheLORD,whenIshall bringyouintothelandofIsrael,intothecountryforthe whichIliftedupminehandtogiveittoyourfathers

43Andthereshallyerememberyourways,andallyour doings,whereinyehavebeendefiled;andyeshalllothe yourselvesinyourownsightforallyourevilsthatyehave committed

3AndsaytothelandofIsrael,ThussaiththeLORD; Behold,Iamagainstthee,andwilldrawforthmysword outofhissheath,andwillcutofffromtheetherighteous andthewicked

4SeeingthenthatIwillcutofffromtheetherighteousand thewicked,thereforeshallmyswordgoforthoutofhis sheathagainstallfleshfromthesouthtothenorth:

5ThatallfleshmayknowthatItheLORDhavedrawn forthmyswordoutofhissheath:itshallnotreturnany more

6Sightherefore,thousonofman,withthebreakingofthy loins;andwithbitternesssighbeforetheireyes

12Cryandhowl,sonofman:foritshallbeuponmy people,itshallbeuponalltheprincesofIsrael:terrorsby reasonoftheswordshallbeuponmypeople:smite thereforeuponthythigh.

13Becauseitisatrial,andwhatiftheswordcontemneven therod?itshallbenomore,saiththeLordGOD

14Thoutherefore,sonofman,prophesy,andsmitethine handstogether,andlettheswordbedoubledthethirdtime, theswordoftheslain:itistheswordofthegreatmenthat areslain,whichenterethintotheirprivychambers

15Ihavesetthepointoftheswordagainstalltheirgates, thattheirheartmayfaint,andtheirruinsbemultiplied:ah! itismadebright,itiswrappedupfortheslaughter.

23Anditshallbeuntothemasafalsedivinationintheir sight,tothemthathaveswornoaths:buthewillcallto remembrancetheiniquity,thattheymaybetaken

24ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Becauseyehave madeyouriniquitytoberemembered,inthatyour transgressionsarediscovered,sothatinallyourdoings yoursinsdoappear;because,Isay,thatyearecometo remembrance,yeshallbetakenwiththehand.

25Andthou,profanewickedprinceofIsrael,whosedayis come,wheniniquityshallhaveanend,

26ThussaiththeLordGOD;Removethediadem,andtake offthecrown:thisshallnotbethesame:exalthimthatis low,andabasehimthatishigh

27Iwilloverturn,overturn,overturn,it:anditshallbeno more,untilhecomewhoserightitis;andIwillgiveithim 28Andthou,sonofman,prophesyandsay,Thussaiththe LordGODconcerningtheAmmonites,andconcerning theirreproach;evensaythou,Thesword,theswordis drawn:fortheslaughteritisfurbished,toconsumebecause oftheglittering:

1MoreoverthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 2Now,thousonofman,wiltthoujudge,wiltthoujudge thebloodycity?yea,thoushaltshewherallher abominations

3Thensaythou,ThussaiththeLordGOD,Thecity sheddethbloodinthemidstofit,thathertimemaycome, andmakethidolsagainstherselftodefileherself.

4Thouartbecomeguiltyinthybloodthatthouhastshed; andhastdefiledthyselfinthineidolswhichthouhastmade; andthouhastcausedthydaystodrawnear,andartcome evenuntothyyears:thereforehaveImadetheeareproach untotheheathen,andamockingtoallcountries

5Thosethatbenear,andthosethatbefarfromthee,shall mockthee,whichartinfamousandmuchvexed.

6Behold,theprincesofIsrael,everyonewereintheeto theirpowertoshedblood.

7Intheehavetheysetlightbyfatherandmother:inthe midstoftheehavetheydealtbyoppressionwiththe stranger:intheehavetheyvexedthefatherlessandthe widow.

8Thouhastdespisedmineholythings,andhastprofaned mysabbaths

9Intheearementhatcarrytalestoshedblood:andinthee theyeatuponthemountains:inthemidstoftheethey commitlewdness.

10Intheehavetheydiscoveredtheirfathers'nakedness:in theehavetheyhumbledherthatwassetapartforpollution

11Andonehathcommittedabominationwithhis neighbour'swife;andanotherhathlewdlydefiledhis daughterinlaw;andanotherintheehathhumbledhissister, hisfather'sdaughter.

12Intheehavetheytakengiftstoshedblood;thouhast takenusuryandincrease,andthouhastgreedilygainedof thyneighboursbyextortion,andhastforgottenme,saith theLordGOD

13Behold,thereforeIhavesmittenminehandatthy dishonestgainwhichthouhastmade,andatthyblood whichhathbeeninthemidstofthee

14Canthineheartendure,orcanthinehandsbestrong,in thedaysthatIshalldealwiththee?ItheLORDhave spokenit,andwilldoit

15AndIwillscattertheeamongtheheathen,anddisperse theeinthecountries,andwillconsumethyfilthinessoutof thee

16Andthoushalttakethineinheritanceinthyselfinthe sightoftheheathen,andthoushaltknowthatIamthe LORD

23AndthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 24Sonofman,sayuntoher,Thouartthelandthatisnot cleansed,norraineduponinthedayofindignation

25Thereisaconspiracyofherprophetsinthemidst thereof,likearoaringlionraveningtheprey;theyhave devouredsouls;theyhavetakenthetreasureandprecious things;theyhavemadehermanywidowsinthemidst thereof

26Herpriestshaveviolatedmylaw,andhaveprofaned mineholythings:theyhaveputnodifferencebetweenthe holyandprofane,neitherhavetheysheweddifference

betweentheuncleanandtheclean,andhavehidtheireyes frommysabbaths,andIamprofanedamongthem.

27Herprincesinthemidstthereofarelikewolves raveningtheprey,toshedblood,andtodestroysouls,to getdishonestgain.

28Andherprophetshavedaubedthemwithuntempered morter,seeingvanity,anddiviningliesuntothem,saying, ThussaiththeLordGOD,whentheLORDhathnot spoken

29Thepeopleofthelandhaveusedoppression,and exercisedrobbery,andhavevexedthepoorandneedy:yea, theyhaveoppressedthestrangerwrongfully

30AndIsoughtforamanamongthem,thatshouldmake upthehedge,andstandinthegapbeforemefortheland, thatIshouldnotdestroyit:butIfoundnone

31ThereforehaveIpouredoutmineindignationupon them;Ihaveconsumedthemwiththefireofmywrath: theirownwayhaveIrecompensedupontheirheads,saith theLordGOD.

CHAPTER23

1ThewordoftheLORDcameagainuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,thereweretwowomen,thedaughtersofone mother:

3AndtheycommittedwhoredomsinEgypt;they committedwhoredomsintheiryouth:thereweretheir breastspressed,andtheretheybruisedtheteatsoftheir virginity

4AndthenamesofthemwereAholahtheelder,and Aholibahhersister:andtheyweremine,andtheybare sonsanddaughtersThusweretheirnames;Samariais Aholah,andJerusalemAholibah

5AndAholahplayedtheharlotwhenshewasmine;and shedotedonherlovers,ontheAssyriansherneighbours, 6Whichwereclothedwithblue,captainsandrulers,allof themdesirableyoungmen,horsemenridinguponhorses.

7Thusshecommittedherwhoredomswiththem,withall themthatwerethechosenmenofAssyria,andwithallon whomshedoted:withalltheiridolsshedefiledherself.

8NeitherleftsheherwhoredomsbroughtfromEgypt:for inheryouththeylaywithher,andtheybruisedthebreasts ofhervirginity,andpouredtheirwhoredomuponher.

9WhereforeIhavedeliveredherintothehandofher lovers,intothehandoftheAssyrians,uponwhomshe doted.

10Thesediscoveredhernakedness:theytookhersonsand herdaughters,andslewherwiththesword:andshe becamefamousamongwomen;fortheyhadexecuted judgmentuponher

11AndwhenhersisterAholibahsawthis,shewasmore corruptinherinordinatelovethanshe,andinher whoredomsmorethanhersisterinherwhoredoms

12ShedotedupontheAssyriansherneighbours,captains andrulersclothedmostgorgeously,horsemenridingupon horses,allofthemdesirableyoungmen

13ThenIsawthatshewasdefiled,thattheytookbothone way,

14Andthatsheincreasedherwhoredoms:forwhenshe sawmenpourtrayeduponthewall,theimagesofthe Chaldeanspourtrayedwithvermilion,

15Girdedwithgirdlesupontheirloins,exceedingindyed attireupontheirheads,allofthemprincestolookto,after themanneroftheBabyloniansofChaldea,thelandoftheir nativity:

16Andassoonasshesawthemwithhereyes,shedoted uponthem,andsentmessengersuntothemintoChaldea

17AndtheBabylonianscametoherintothebedoflove, andtheydefiledherwiththeirwhoredom,andshewas pollutedwiththem,andhermindwasalienatedfromthem

18Soshediscoveredherwhoredoms,anddiscoveredher nakedness:thenmymindwasalienatedfromher,likeas mymindwasalienatedfromhersister

19Yetshemultipliedherwhoredoms,incallingto remembrancethedaysofheryouth,whereinshehad playedtheharlotinthelandofEgypt

20Forshedotedupontheirparamours,whosefleshisas thefleshofasses,andwhoseissueisliketheissueof horses

22Therefore,OAholibah,thussaiththeLordGOD; Behold,Iwillraiseupthyloversagainstthee,fromwhom thymindisalienated,andIwillbringthemagainsttheeon everyside;

23TheBabylonians,andalltheChaldeans,Pekod,and Shoa,andKoa,andalltheAssyrianswiththem:allofthem desirableyoungmen,captainsandrulers,greatlordsand renowned,allofthemridinguponhorses

24Andtheyshallcomeagainsttheewithchariots,wagons, andwheels,andwithanassemblyofpeople,whichshall setagainsttheebucklerandshieldandhelmetroundabout: andIwillsetjudgmentbeforethem,andtheyshalljudge theeaccordingtotheirjudgments.

25AndIwillsetmyjealousyagainstthee,andtheyshall dealfuriouslywiththee:theyshalltakeawaythynoseand thineears;andthyremnantshallfallbythesword:they shalltakethysonsandthydaughters;andthyresidueshall bedevouredbythefire

26Theyshallalsostriptheeoutofthyclothes,andtake awaythyfairjewels

27ThuswillImakethylewdnesstoceasefromthee,and thywhoredombroughtfromthelandofEgypt:sothatthou shaltnotliftupthineeyesuntothem,norrememberEgypt anymore

28ForthussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iwilldeliverthee intothehandofthemwhomthouhatest,intothehandof themfromwhomthymindisalienated:

29Andtheyshalldealwiththeehatefully,andshalltake awayallthylabour,andshallleavetheenakedandbare: andthenakednessofthywhoredomsshallbediscovered, boththylewdnessandthywhoredoms.

30Iwilldothesethingsuntothee,becausethouhastgone awhoringaftertheheathen,andbecausethouartpolluted withtheiridols

31Thouhastwalkedinthewayofthysister;thereforewill Igivehercupintothinehand.

32ThussaiththeLordGOD;Thoushaltdrinkofthy sister'scupdeepandlarge:thoushaltbelaughedtoscorn andhadinderision;itcontainethmuch.

36TheLORDsaidmoreoveruntome;Sonofman,wilt thoujudgeAholahandAholibah?yea,declareuntothem theirabominations;

37Thattheyhavecommittedadultery,andbloodisintheir hands,andwiththeiridolshavetheycommittedadultery, andhavealsocausedtheirsons,whomtheybareuntome, topassforthemthroughthefire,todevourthem.

46ForthussaiththeLordGOD;Iwillbringupacompany uponthem,andwillgivethemtoberemovedandspoiled

47Andthecompanyshallstonethemwithstones,and dispatchthemwiththeirswords;theyshallslaytheirsons andtheirdaughters,andburnuptheirhouseswithfire

1Againintheninthyear,inthetenthmonth,inthetenth dayofthemonth,thewordoftheLORDcameuntome, saying,

2Sonofman,writetheethenameoftheday,evenofthis sameday:thekingofBabylonsethimselfagainst Jerusalemthissameday

3Andutteraparableuntotherebellioushouse,andsay untothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Setonapot,setiton, andalsopourwaterintoit:

4Gatherthepiecesthereofintoit,eveneverygoodpiece, thethigh,andtheshoulder;fillitwiththechoicebones.

5Takethechoiceoftheflock,andburnalsothebones underit,andmakeitboilwell,andletthemseethethe bonesofittherein.

6WhereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Woetothebloody city,tothepotwhosescumistherein,andwhosescumis notgoneoutofit!bringitoutpiecebypiece;letnolotfall uponit

7Forherbloodisinthemidstofher;shesetituponthe topofarock;shepoureditnotupontheground,tocoverit withdust;

8Thatitmightcausefurytocomeuptotakevengeance;I havesetherblooduponthetopofarock,thatitshouldnot becovered

9ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Woetothebloody city!Iwillevenmakethepileforfiregreat

10Heaponwood,kindlethefire,consumetheflesh,and spiceitwell,andletthebonesbeburned.

11Thensetitemptyuponthecoalsthereof,thatthebrass ofitmaybehot,andmayburn,andthatthefilthinessofit maybemolteninit,thatthescumofitmaybeconsumed.

12Shehathweariedherselfwithlies,andhergreatscum wentnotforthoutofher:herscumshallbeinthefire

21SpeakuntothehouseofIsrael,ThussaiththeLord GOD;Behold,Iwillprofanemysanctuary,theexcellency ofyourstrength,thedesireofyoureyes,andthatwhich yoursoulpitieth;andyoursonsandyourdaughterswhom yehaveleftshallfallbythesword

22AndyeshalldoasIhavedone:yeshallnotcoveryour lips,noreatthebreadofmen

23Andyourtiresshallbeuponyourheads,andyourshoes uponyourfeet:yeshallnotmournnorweep;butyeshall pineawayforyouriniquities,andmournonetoward another.

24ThusEzekielisuntoyouasign:accordingtoallthathe hathdoneshallyedo:andwhenthiscometh,yeshallknow thatIamtheLordGOD

25Also,thousonofman,shallitnotbeinthedaywhenI takefromthemtheirstrength,thejoyoftheirglory,the desireoftheireyes,andthatwhereupontheysettheir minds,theirsonsandtheirdaughters,

26Thathethatescapethinthatdayshallcomeuntothee, tocausetheetohearitwiththineears?

27Inthatdayshallthymouthbeopenedtohimwhichis escaped,andthoushaltspeak,andbenomoredumb:and thoushaltbeasignuntothem;andtheyshallknowthatI amtheLORD.

CHAPTER25

1ThewordoftheLORDcameagainuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,setthyfaceagainsttheAmmonites,and prophesyagainstthem;

3AndsayuntotheAmmonites,HearthewordoftheLord GOD;ThussaiththeLordGOD;Becausethousaidst,Aha, againstmysanctuary,whenitwasprofaned;andagainst thelandofIsrael,whenitwasdesolate;andagainstthe houseofJudah,whentheywentintocaptivity;

4Behold,thereforeIwilldelivertheetothemenofthe eastforapossession,andtheyshallsettheirpalacesinthee, andmaketheirdwellingsinthee:theyshalleatthyfruit, andtheyshalldrinkthymilk.

5AndIwillmakeRabbahastableforcamels,andthe Ammonitesacouchingplaceforflocks:andyeshallknow thatIamtheLORD.

6ForthussaiththeLordGOD;Becausethouhastclapped thinehands,andstampedwiththefeet,andrejoicedin heartwithallthydespiteagainstthelandofIsrael;

7Behold,thereforeIwillstretchoutminehanduponthee, andwilldelivertheeforaspoiltotheheathen;andIwill cuttheeofffromthepeople,andIwillcausetheetoperish outofthecountries:Iwilldestroythee;andthoushalt knowthatIamtheLORD

8ThussaiththeLordGOD;BecausethatMoabandSeir dosay,Behold,thehouseofJudahislikeuntoallthe heathen;

9Therefore,behold,IwillopenthesideofMoabfromthe cities,fromhiscitieswhichareonhisfrontiers,theglory ofthecountry,Bethjeshimoth,Baalmeon,andKiriathaim, 10UntothemenoftheeastwiththeAmmonites,andwill givetheminpossession,thattheAmmonitesmaynotbe rememberedamongthenations.

11AndIwillexecutejudgmentsuponMoab;andthey shallknowthatIamtheLORD

12ThussaiththeLordGOD;BecausethatEdomhathdealt againstthehouseofJudahbytakingvengeance,andhath greatlyoffended,andrevengedhimselfuponthem;

13ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Iwillalsostretch outminehanduponEdom,andwillcutoffmanandbeast fromit;andIwillmakeitdesolatefromTeman;andthey ofDedanshallfallbythesword.

14AndIwilllaymyvengeanceuponEdombythehandof mypeopleIsrael:andtheyshalldoinEdomaccordingto mineangerandaccordingtomyfury;andtheyshallknow myvengeance,saiththeLordGOD

15ThussaiththeLordGOD;BecausethePhilistineshave dealtbyrevenge,andhavetakenvengeancewitha despitefulheart,todestroyitfortheoldhatred;

16ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iwill stretchoutminehanduponthePhilistines,andIwillcut offtheCherethims,anddestroytheremnantofthesea coast

17AndIwillexecutegreatvengeanceuponthemwith furiousrebukes;andtheyshallknowthatIamtheLORD, whenIshalllaymyvengeanceuponthem

1Anditcametopassintheeleventhyear,inthefirstday ofthemonth,thatthewordoftheLORDcameuntome, saying,

2Sonofman,becausethatTyrushathsaidagainst Jerusalem,Aha,sheisbrokenthatwasthegatesofthe people:sheisturneduntome:Ishallbereplenished,now sheislaidwaste:

3ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iamagainst thee,OTyrus,andwillcausemanynationstocomeup againstthee,astheseacausethhiswavestocomeup

4AndtheyshalldestroythewallsofTyrus,andbreak downhertowers:Iwillalsoscrapeherdustfromher,and makeherlikethetopofarock

5Itshallbeaplaceforthespreadingofnetsinthemidstof thesea:forIhavespokenit,saiththeLordGOD:andit shallbecomeaspoiltothenations

6Andherdaughterswhichareinthefieldshallbeslainby thesword;andtheyshallknowthatIamtheLORD.

7ForthussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iwillbringupon TyrusNebuchadrezzarkingofBabylon,akingofkings, fromthenorth,withhorses,andwithchariots,andwith horsemen,andcompanies,andmuchpeople

8Heshallslaywiththeswordthydaughtersinthefield: andheshallmakeafortagainstthee,andcastamount againstthee,andliftupthebuckleragainstthee

9Andheshallsetenginesofwaragainstthywalls,and withhisaxesheshallbreakdownthytowers.

10Byreasonoftheabundanceofhishorsestheirdustshall coverthee:thywallsshallshakeatthenoiseofthe horsemen,andofthewheels,andofthechariots,whenhe shallenterintothygates,asmenenterintoacitywherein ismadeabreach

11Withthehoofsofhishorsesshallhetreaddownallthy streets:heshallslaythypeoplebythesword,andthy stronggarrisonsshallgodowntotheground.

12Andtheyshallmakeaspoilofthyriches,andmakea preyofthymerchandise:andtheyshallbreakdownthy walls,anddestroythypleasanthouses:andtheyshalllay thystonesandthytimberandthydustinthemidstofthe water

13AndIwillcausethenoiseofthysongstocease;andthe soundofthyharpsshallbenomoreheard

14AndIwillmaketheelikethetopofarock:thoushaltbe aplacetospreadnetsupon;thoushaltbebuiltnomore:for ItheLORDhavespokenit,saiththeLordGOD

15ThussaiththeLordGODtoTyrus;Shallnottheisles shakeatthesoundofthyfall,whenthewoundedcry,when theslaughterismadeinthemidstofthee?

16Thenalltheprincesoftheseashallcomedownfrom theirthrones,andlayawaytheirrobes,andputofftheir broideredgarments:theyshallclothethemselveswith trembling;theyshallsitupontheground,andshalltremble ateverymoment,andbeastonishedatthee.

17Andtheyshalltakeupalamentationforthee,andsayto thee,Howartthoudestroyed,thatwastinhabitedof seafaringmen,therenownedcity,whichwaststronginthe sea,sheandherinhabitants,whichcausetheirterrortobe onallthathauntit!

18Nowshalltheislestrembleinthedayofthyfall;yea, theislesthatareintheseashallbetroubledatthy departure.

19ForthussaiththeLordGOD;WhenIshallmaketheea desolatecity,likethecitiesthatarenotinhabited;whenI shallbringupthedeepuponthee,andgreatwatersshall coverthee;

20WhenIshallbringtheedownwiththemthatdescend intothepit,withthepeopleofoldtime,andshallsetthee inthelowpartsoftheearth,inplacesdesolateofold,with themthatgodowntothepit,thatthoubenotinhabited; andIshallsetgloryinthelandoftheliving;

21Iwillmaketheeaterror,andthoushaltbenomore: thoughthoubesoughtfor,yetshaltthouneverbefound again,saiththeLordGOD.

CHAPTER27

1ThewordoftheLORDcameagainuntome,saying, 2Now,thousonofman,takeupalamentationforTyrus; 3AndsayuntoTyrus,Othouthatartsituateattheentryof thesea,whichartamerchantofthepeopleformanyisles, ThussaiththeLordGOD;OTyrus,thouhastsaid,Iamof perfectbeauty.

4Thybordersareinthemidstoftheseas,thybuilders haveperfectedthybeauty

5TheyhavemadeallthyshipboardsoffirtreesofSenir: theyhavetakencedarsfromLebanontomakemastsfor thee

6OftheoaksofBashanhavetheymadethineoars;the companyoftheAshuriteshavemadethybenchesofivory, broughtoutoftheislesofChittim

7FinelinenwithbroideredworkfromEgyptwasthat whichthouspreadestforthtobethysail;blueandpurple fromtheislesofElishahwasthatwhichcoveredthee

8TheinhabitantsofZidonandArvadwerethymariners: thywisemen,OTyrus,thatwereinthee,werethypilots

9TheancientsofGebalandthewisementhereofwerein theethycalkers:alltheshipsoftheseawiththeirmariners wereintheetooccupythymerchandise

10TheyofPersiaandofLudandofPhutwereinthine army,thymenofwar:theyhangedtheshieldandhelmetin thee;theysetforththycomeliness

25TheshipsofTarshishdidsingoftheeinthymarket:and thouwastreplenished,andmadeverygloriousinthemidst oftheseas

26Thyrowershavebroughttheeintogreatwaters:theeast windhathbrokentheeinthemidstoftheseas

27Thyriches,andthyfairs,thymerchandise,thymariners, andthypilots,thycalkers,andtheoccupiersofthy merchandise,andallthymenofwar,thatareinthee,and inallthycompanywhichisinthemidstofthee,shallfall intothemidstoftheseasinthedayofthyruin.

28Thesuburbsshallshakeatthesoundofthecryofthy pilots

29Andallthathandletheoar,themariners,andallthe pilotsofthesea,shallcomedownfromtheirships,they shallstandupontheland;

30Andshallcausetheirvoicetobeheardagainstthee,and shallcrybitterly,andshallcastupdustupontheirheads, theyshallwallowthemselvesintheashes:

31Andtheyshallmakethemselvesutterlybaldforthee, andgirdthemwithsackcloth,andtheyshallweepforthee withbitternessofheartandbitterwailing

32Andintheirwailingtheyshalltakeupalamentationfor thee,andlamentoverthee,saying,WhatcityislikeTyrus, likethedestroyedinthemidstofthesea?

33Whenthywareswentforthoutoftheseas,thoufilledst manypeople;thoudidstenrichthekingsoftheearthwith themultitudeofthyrichesandofthymerchandise.

34Inthetimewhenthoushaltbebrokenbytheseasinthe depthsofthewatersthymerchandiseandallthycompany inthemidstoftheeshallfall

35Alltheinhabitantsoftheislesshallbeastonishedat thee,andtheirkingsshallbesoreafraid,theyshallbe troubledintheircountenance

36Themerchantsamongthepeopleshallhissatthee;thou shaltbeaterror,andnevershaltbeanymore.

3Behold,thouartwiserthanDaniel;thereisnosecretthat theycanhidefromthee:

4Withthywisdomandwiththineunderstandingthouhast gottentheeriches,andhastgottengoldandsilverintothy treasures:

5Bythygreatwisdomandbythytraffickhastthou increasedthyriches,andthineheartisliftedupbecauseof thyriches:

6ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Becausethouhast setthineheartastheheartofGod;

10Thoushaltdiethedeathsoftheuncircumcisedbythe handofstrangers:forIhavespokenit,saiththeLordGOD 11MoreoverthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 12Sonofman,takeupalamentationuponthekingof Tyrus,andsayuntohim,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Thou sealestupthesum,fullofwisdom,andperfectinbeauty 13ThouhastbeeninEdenthegardenofGod;every preciousstonewasthycovering,thesardius,topaz,andthe diamond,theberyl,theonyx,andthejasper,thesapphire, theemerald,andthecarbuncle,andgold:theworkmanship ofthytabretsandofthypipeswaspreparedintheeinthe daythatthouwastcreated.

14Thouarttheanointedcherubthatcovereth;andIhave settheeso:thouwastupontheholymountainofGod;thou hastwalkedupanddowninthemidstofthestonesoffire

15Thouwastperfectinthywaysfromthedaythatthou wastcreated,tilliniquitywasfoundinthee

16Bythemultitudeofthymerchandisetheyhavefilledthe midstoftheewithviolence,andthouhastsinned:therefore IwillcasttheeasprofaneoutofthemountainofGod:and Iwilldestroythee,Ocoveringcherub,fromthemidstof thestonesoffire

17Thineheartwasliftedupbecauseofthybeauty,thou hastcorruptedthywisdombyreasonofthybrightness:I willcasttheetotheground,Iwilllaytheebeforekings, thattheymaybeholdthee

18Thouhastdefiledthysanctuariesbythemultitudeof thineiniquities,bytheiniquityofthytraffick;therefore willIbringforthafirefromthemidstofthee,itshall devourthee,andIwillbringtheetoashesupontheearthin thesightofallthemthatbeholdthee.

19Alltheythatknowtheeamongthepeopleshallbe astonishedatthee:thoushaltbeaterror,andnevershalt thoubeanymore.

20AgainthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 21Sonofman,setthyfaceagainstZidon,andprophesy againstit,

22Andsay,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iam againstthee,OZidon;andIwillbeglorifiedinthemidst ofthee:andtheyshallknowthatIamtheLORD,whenI shallhaveexecutedjudgmentsinher,andshallbe sanctifiedinher.

23ForIwillsendintoherpestilence,andbloodintoher streets;andthewoundedshallbejudgedinthemidstofher bythesworduponheroneveryside;andtheyshallknow thatIamtheLORD

24Andthereshallbenomoreaprickingbrieruntothe houseofIsrael,noranygrievingthornofallthatareround aboutthem,thatdespisedthem;andtheyshallknowthatI amtheLordGOD

25ThussaiththeLordGOD;WhenIshallhavegathered thehouseofIsraelfromthepeopleamongwhomtheyare scattered,andshallbesanctifiedintheminthesightofthe heathen,thenshalltheydwellintheirlandthatIhave giventomyservantJacob

26Andtheyshalldwellsafelytherein,andshallbuild houses,andplantvineyards;yea,theyshalldwellwith confidence,whenIhaveexecutedjudgmentsuponallthose thatdespisethemroundaboutthem;andtheyshallknow thatIamtheLORDtheirGod.

1Inthetenthyear,inthetenthmonth,inthetwelfthdayof themonth,thewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,setthyfaceagainstPharaohkingofEgypt, andprophesyagainsthim,andagainstallEgypt:

3Speak,andsay,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iam againstthee,PharaohkingofEgypt,thegreatdragonthat liethinthemidstofhisrivers,whichhathsaid,Myriveris mineown,andIhavemadeitformyself

4ButIwillputhooksinthyjaws,andIwillcausethefish ofthyriverstostickuntothyscales,andIwillbringthee upoutofthemidstofthyrivers,andallthefishofthy riversshallstickuntothyscales

5AndIwillleavetheethrownintothewilderness,theeand allthefishofthyrivers:thoushaltfallupontheopenfields; thoushaltnotbebroughttogether,norgathered:Ihave giventheeformeattothebeastsofthefieldandtothe fowlsoftheheaven

6AndalltheinhabitantsofEgyptshallknowthatIamthe LORD,becausetheyhavebeenastaffofreedtothehouse ofIsrael.

7Whentheytookholdoftheebythyhand,thoudidst break,andrendalltheirshoulder:andwhentheyleaned uponthee,thoubrakest,andmadestalltheirloinstobeata stand

8ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iwillbring asworduponthee,andcutoffmanandbeastoutofthee.

9AndthelandofEgyptshallbedesolateandwaste;and theyshallknowthatIamtheLORD:becausehehathsaid, Theriverismine,andIhavemadeit.

10Behold,thereforeIamagainstthee,andagainstthy rivers,andIwillmakethelandofEgyptutterlywasteand desolate,fromthetowerofSyeneevenuntotheborderof Ethiopia

11Nofootofmanshallpassthroughit,norfootofbeast shallpassthroughit,neithershallitbeinhabitedforty years

12AndIwillmakethelandofEgyptdesolateinthemidst ofthecountriesthataredesolate,andhercitiesamongthe citiesthatarelaidwasteshallbedesolatefortyyears:andI willscattertheEgyptiansamongthenations,andwill dispersethemthroughthecountries

13YetthussaiththeLordGOD;Attheendoffortyyears willIgathertheEgyptiansfromthepeoplewhitherthey werescattered:

14AndIwillbringagainthecaptivityofEgypt,andwill causethemtoreturnintothelandofPathros,intotheland oftheirhabitation;andtheyshallbethereabasekingdom 15Itshallbethebasestofthekingdoms;neithershallit exaltitselfanymoreabovethenations:forIwilldiminish them,thattheyshallnomoreruleoverthenations

16Anditshallbenomoretheconfidenceofthehouseof Israel,whichbringeththeiriniquitytoremembrance,when theyshalllookafterthem:buttheyshallknowthatIamthe LordGOD

17Anditcametopassinthesevenandtwentiethyear,in thefirstmonth,inthefirstdayofthemonth,thewordof theLORDcameuntome,saying,

18Sonofman,NebuchadrezzarkingofBabyloncaused hisarmytoserveagreatserviceagainstTyrus:everyhead wasmadebald,andeveryshoulderwaspeeled:yethadhe nowages,norhisarmy,forTyrus,fortheservicethathe hadservedagainstit:

19ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iwillgive thelandofEgyptuntoNebuchadrezzarkingofBabylon; andheshalltakehermultitude,andtakeherspoil,andtake herprey;anditshallbethewagesforhisarmy

20IhavegivenhimthelandofEgyptforhislabour wherewithheservedagainstit,becausetheywroughtfor me,saiththeLordGOD

21InthatdaywillIcausethehornofthehouseofIsraelto budforth,andIwillgivetheetheopeningofthemouthin themidstofthem;andtheyshallknowthatIamtheLORD.

CHAPTER30

1ThewordoftheLORDcameagainuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,prophesyandsay,ThussaiththeLordGOD; Howlye,Woeworththeday!

3Forthedayisnear,eventhedayoftheLORDisnear,a cloudyday;itshallbethetimeoftheheathen

4AndtheswordshallcomeuponEgypt,andgreatpain shallbeinEthiopia,whentheslainshallfallinEgypt,and theyshalltakeawayhermultitude,andherfoundations shallbebrokendown.

5Ethiopia,andLibya,andLydia,andallthemingled people,andChub,andthemenofthelandthatisinleague, shallfallwiththembythesword

6ThussaiththeLORD;TheyalsothatupholdEgyptshall fall;andtheprideofherpowershallcomedown:fromthe towerofSyeneshalltheyfallinitbythesword,saiththe LordGOD

7Andtheyshallbedesolateinthemidstofthecountries thataredesolate,andhercitiesshallbeinthemidstofthe citiesthatarewasted

8AndtheyshallknowthatIamtheLORD,whenIhave setafireinEgypt,andwhenallherhelpersshallbe destroyed.

9Inthatdayshallmessengersgoforthfrommeinshipsto makethecarelessEthiopiansafraid,andgreatpainshall comeuponthem,asinthedayofEgypt:for,lo,itcometh.

10ThussaiththeLordGOD;Iwillalsomakethe multitudeofEgypttoceasebythehandofNebuchadrezzar kingofBabylon.

11Heandhispeoplewithhim,theterribleofthenations, shallbebroughttodestroytheland:andtheyshalldraw theirswordsagainstEgypt,andfillthelandwiththeslain.

12AndIwillmaketheriversdry,andsellthelandintothe handofthewicked:andIwillmakethelandwaste,andall thatistherein,bythehandofstrangers:ItheLORDhave spokenit

13ThussaiththeLordGOD;Iwillalsodestroytheidols, andIwillcausetheirimagestoceaseoutofNoph;and thereshallbenomoreaprinceofthelandofEgypt:andI willputafearinthelandofEgypt

14AndIwillmakePathrosdesolate,andwillsetfirein Zoan,andwillexecutejudgmentsinNo

15AndIwillpourmyfuryuponSin,thestrengthofEgypt; andIwillcutoffthemultitudeofNo.

16AndIwillsetfireinEgypt:Sinshallhavegreatpain, andNoshallberentasunder,andNophshallhave distressesdaily.

17TheyoungmenofAvenandofPibesethshallfallbythe sword:andthesecitiesshallgointocaptivity

18AtTehaphnehesalsothedayshallbedarkened,whenI shallbreaktheretheyokesofEgypt:andthepompofher strengthshallceaseinher:asforher,acloudshallcover her,andherdaughtersshallgointocaptivity.

23AndIwillscattertheEgyptiansamongthenations,and willdispersethemthroughthecountries.

24AndIwillstrengthenthearmsofthekingofBabylon, andputmyswordinhishand:butIwillbreakPharaoh's arms,andheshallgroanbeforehimwiththegroaningsofa deadlywoundedman

25ButIwillstrengthenthearmsofthekingofBabylon, andthearmsofPharaohshallfalldown;andtheyshall knowthatIamtheLORD,whenIshallputmyswordinto thehandofthekingofBabylon,andheshallstretchitout uponthelandofEgypt.

26AndIwillscattertheEgyptiansamongthenations,and dispersethemamongthecountries;andtheyshallknow thatIamtheLORD.

CHAPTER31

1Anditcametopassintheeleventhyear,inthethird month,inthefirstdayofthemonth,thatthewordofthe LORDcameuntome,saying,

2Sonofman,speakuntoPharaohkingofEgypt,andtohis multitude;Whomartthoulikeinthygreatness?

3Behold,theAssyrianwasacedarinLebanonwithfair branches,andwithashadowingshroud,andofanhigh stature;andhistopwasamongthethickboughs.

4Thewatersmadehimgreat,thedeepsethimuponhigh withherriversrunningroundabouthisplants,andsentout herlittleriversuntoallthetreesofthefield.

5Thereforehisheightwasexaltedaboveallthetreesofthe field,andhisboughsweremultiplied,andhisbranches becamelongbecauseofthemultitudeofwaters,whenhe shotforth

6Allthefowlsofheavenmadetheirnestsinhisboughs, andunderhisbranchesdidallthebeastsofthefieldbring forththeiryoung,andunderhisshadowdweltallgreat nations

7Thuswashefairinhisgreatness,inthelengthofhis branches:forhisrootwasbygreatwaters

8ThecedarsinthegardenofGodcouldnothidehim:the firtreeswerenotlikehisboughs,andthechesnuttrees werenotlikehisbranches;noranytreeinthegardenof Godwaslikeuntohiminhisbeauty

9Ihavemadehimfairbythemultitudeofhisbranches:so thatallthetreesofEden,thatwereinthegardenofGod, enviedhim

10ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Becausethouhast liftedupthyselfinheight,andhehathshotuphistop amongthethickboughs,andhisheartisliftedupinhis height;

11Ihavethereforedeliveredhimintothehandofthe mightyoneoftheheathen;heshallsurelydealwithhim:I havedrivenhimoutforhiswickedness.

12Andstrangers,theterribleofthenations,havecuthim off,andhavelefthim:uponthemountainsandinallthe valleyshisbranchesarefallen,andhisboughsarebroken byalltheriversoftheland;andallthepeopleoftheearth aregonedownfromhisshadow,andhavelefthim 13Uponhisruinshallallthefowlsoftheheavenremain, andallthebeastsofthefieldshallbeuponhisbranches: 14Totheendthatnoneofallthetreesbythewatersexalt themselvesfortheirheight,neithershootuptheirtop amongthethickboughs,neithertheirtreesstandupintheir height,allthatdrinkwater:fortheyarealldeliveredunto death,tothenetherpartsoftheearth,inthemidstofthe childrenofmen,withthemthatgodowntothepit

15ThussaiththeLordGOD;Inthedaywhenhewent downtothegraveIcausedamourning:Icoveredthedeep forhim,andIrestrainedthefloodsthereof,andthegreat

waterswerestayed:andIcausedLebanontomournfor him,andallthetreesofthefieldfaintedforhim.

16Imadethenationstoshakeatthesoundofhisfall, whenIcasthimdowntohellwiththemthatdescendinto thepit:andallthetreesofEden,thechoiceandbestof Lebanon,allthatdrinkwater,shallbecomfortedinthe netherpartsoftheearth

17Theyalsowentdownintohellwithhimuntothemthat beslainwiththesword;andtheythatwerehisarm,that dweltunderhisshadowinthemidstoftheheathen 18Towhomartthouthuslikeingloryandingreatness amongthetreesofEden?yetshaltthoubebroughtdown withthetreesofEdenuntothenetherpartsoftheearth: thoushaltlieinthemidstoftheuncircumcisedwiththem thatbeslainbytheswordThisisPharaohandallhis multitude,saiththeLordGOD.

CHAPTER32

1Anditcametopassinthetwelfthyear,inthetwelfth month,inthefirstdayofthemonth,thatthewordofthe LORDcameuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,takeupalamentationforPharaohkingof Egypt,andsayuntohim,Thouartlikeayounglionofthe nations,andthouartasawhaleintheseas:andthou camestforthwiththyrivers,andtroubledstthewaterswith thyfeet,andfouledsttheirrivers

3ThussaiththeLordGOD;Iwillthereforespreadoutmy netovertheewithacompanyofmanypeople;andthey shallbringtheeupinmynet

4ThenwillIleavetheeupontheland,Iwillcasttheeforth upontheopenfield,andwillcauseallthefowlsofthe heaventoremainuponthee,andIwillfillthebeastsofthe wholeearthwiththee.

5AndIwilllaythyfleshuponthemountains,andfillthe valleyswiththyheight

6Iwillalsowaterwiththybloodthelandwhereinthou swimmest,eventothemountains;andtheriversshallbe fullofthee

7AndwhenIshallputtheeout,Iwillcovertheheaven, andmakethestarsthereofdark;Iwillcoverthesunwitha cloud,andthemoonshallnotgiveherlight

8AllthebrightlightsofheavenwillImakedarkoverthee, andsetdarknessuponthyland,saiththeLordGOD

9Iwillalsovextheheartsofmanypeople,whenIshall bringthydestructionamongthenations,intothecountries whichthouhastnotknown

10Yea,Iwillmakemanypeopleamazedatthee,andtheir kingsshallbehorriblyafraidforthee,whenIshall brandishmyswordbeforethem;andtheyshalltrembleat everymoment,everymanforhisownlife,inthedayofthy fall.

11ForthussaiththeLordGOD;Theswordofthekingof Babylonshallcomeuponthee

12BytheswordsofthemightywillIcausethymultitude tofall,theterribleofthenations,allofthem:andtheyshall spoilthepompofEgypt,andallthemultitudethereofshall bedestroyed

13Iwilldestroyalsoallthebeaststhereoffrombesidethe greatwaters;neithershallthefootofmantroublethemany more,northehoofsofbeaststroublethem

14ThenwillImaketheirwatersdeep,andcausetheir riverstorunlikeoil,saiththeLordGOD.

15WhenIshallmakethelandofEgyptdesolate,andthe countryshallbedestituteofthatwhereofitwasfull,whenI shallsmiteallthemthatdwelltherein,thenshalltheyknow thatIamtheLORD

16Thisisthelamentationwherewiththeyshalllamenther: thedaughtersofthenationsshalllamenther:theyshall lamentforher,evenforEgypt,andforallhermultitude, saiththeLordGOD

17Itcametopassalsointhetwelfthyear,inthefifteenth dayofthemonth,thatthewordoftheLORDcameunto me,saying,

18Sonofman,wailforthemultitudeofEgypt,andcast themdown,evenher,andthedaughtersofthefamous nations,untothenetherpartsoftheearth,withthemthat godownintothepit

19Whomdostthoupassinbeauty?godown,andbethou laidwiththeuncircumcised.

20Theyshallfallinthemidstofthemthatareslainbythe sword:sheisdeliveredtothesword:drawherandallher multitudes.

21Thestrongamongthemightyshallspeaktohimoutof themidstofhellwiththemthathelphim:theyaregone down,theylieuncircumcised,slainbythesword.

22Asshuristhereandallhercompany:hisgravesare abouthim:allofthemslain,fallenbythesword: 23Whosegravesaresetinthesidesofthepit,andher companyisroundabouthergrave:allofthemslain,fallen bythesword,whichcausedterrorinthelandoftheliving 24ThereisElamandallhermultituderoundabouther grave,allofthemslain,fallenbythesword,whichare gonedownuncircumcisedintothenetherpartsoftheearth, whichcausedtheirterrorinthelandoftheliving;yethave theybornetheirshamewiththemthatgodowntothepit 25Theyhavesetherabedinthemidstoftheslainwithall hermultitude:hergravesareroundabouthim:allofthem uncircumcised,slainbythesword:thoughtheirterrorwas causedinthelandoftheliving,yethavetheybornetheir shamewiththemthatgodowntothepit:heisputinthe midstofthemthatbeslain

26ThereisMeshech,Tubal,andallhermultitude:her gravesareroundabouthim:allofthemuncircumcised, slainbythesword,thoughtheycausedtheirterrorinthe landoftheliving

27Andtheyshallnotliewiththemightythatarefallenof theuncircumcised,whicharegonedowntohellwiththeir weaponsofwar:andtheyhavelaidtheirswordsunder theirheads,buttheiriniquitiesshallbeupontheirbones, thoughtheyweretheterrorofthemightyinthelandofthe living

28Yea,thoushaltbebrokeninthemidstofthe uncircumcised,andshaltliewiththemthatareslainwith thesword

29ThereisEdom,herkings,andallherprinces,which withtheirmightarelaidbythemthatwereslainbythe sword:theyshallliewiththeuncircumcised,andwiththem thatgodowntothepit

30Therebetheprincesofthenorth,allofthem,andallthe Zidonians,whicharegonedownwiththeslain;withtheir terrortheyareashamedoftheirmight;andtheylie

uncircumcisedwiththemthatbeslainbythesword,and beartheirshamewiththemthatgodowntothepit.

31Pharaohshallseethem,andshallbecomfortedoverall hismultitude,evenPharaohandallhisarmyslainbythe sword,saiththeLordGOD.

32ForIhavecausedmyterrorinthelandoftheliving: andheshallbelaidinthemidstoftheuncircumcisedwith themthatareslainwiththesword,evenPharaohandallhis multitude,saiththeLordGOD

CHAPTER33

1AgainthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,speaktothechildrenofthypeople,andsay untothem,WhenIbringthesworduponaland,ifthe peopleofthelandtakeamanoftheircoasts,andsethim fortheirwatchman:

3Ifwhenheseeththeswordcomeupontheland,heblow thetrumpet,andwarnthepeople;

4Thenwhosoeverheareththesoundofthetrumpet,and takethnotwarning;iftheswordcome,andtakehimaway, hisbloodshallbeuponhisownhead.

5Heheardthesoundofthetrumpet,andtooknotwarning; hisbloodshallbeuponhimButhethattakethwarning shalldeliverhissoul.

6Butifthewatchmanseetheswordcome,andblownot thetrumpet,andthepeoplebenotwarned;ifthesword come,andtakeanypersonfromamongthem,heistaken awayinhisiniquity;buthisbloodwillIrequireatthe watchman'shand

7Sothou,Osonofman,Ihavesettheeawatchmanunto thehouseofIsrael;thereforethoushalthearthewordatmy mouth,andwarnthemfromme

8WhenIsayuntothewicked,Owickedman,thoushalt surelydie;ifthoudostnotspeaktowarnthewickedfrom hisway,thatwickedmanshalldieinhisiniquity;buthis bloodwillIrequireatthinehand.

9Nevertheless,ifthouwarnthewickedofhiswaytoturn fromit;ifhedonotturnfromhisway,heshalldieinhis iniquity;butthouhastdeliveredthysoul.

10Therefore,Othousonofman,speakuntothehouseof Israel;Thusyespeak,saying,Ifourtransgressionsandour sinsbeuponus,andwepineawayinthem,howshouldwe thenlive?

11Sayuntothem,AsIlive,saiththeLordGOD,Ihaveno pleasureinthedeathofthewicked;butthatthewicked turnfromhiswayandlive:turnye,turnyefromyourevil ways;forwhywillyedie,OhouseofIsrael?

12Therefore,thousonofman,sayuntothechildrenofthy people,Therighteousnessoftherighteousshallnotdeliver himinthedayofhistransgression:asforthewickedness ofthewicked,heshallnotfalltherebyinthedaythathe turnethfromhiswickedness;neithershalltherighteousbe abletoliveforhisrighteousnessinthedaythathesinneth

13WhenIshallsaytotherighteous,thatheshallsurely live;ifhetrusttohisownrighteousness,andcommit iniquity,allhisrighteousnessesshallnotberemembered; butforhisiniquitythathehathcommitted,heshalldiefor it

14Again,whenIsayuntothewicked,Thoushaltsurely die;ifheturnfromhissin,anddothatwhichislawfuland right;

15Ifthewickedrestorethepledge,giveagainthathehad robbed,walkinthestatutesoflife,withoutcommitting iniquity;heshallsurelylive,heshallnotdie

16Noneofhissinsthathehathcommittedshallbe mentioneduntohim:hehathdonethatwhichislawfuland right;heshallsurelylive

17Yetthechildrenofthypeoplesay,ThewayoftheLord isnotequal:butasforthem,theirwayisnotequal.

18Whentherighteousturnethfromhisrighteousness,and committethiniquity,heshallevendiethereby 19Butifthewickedturnfromhiswickedness,anddothat whichislawfulandright,heshalllivethereby 20Yetyesay,ThewayoftheLordisnotequal.Oye houseofIsrael,Iwilljudgeyoueveryoneafterhisways 21Anditcametopassinthetwelfthyearofourcaptivity, inthetenthmonth,inthefifthdayofthemonth,thatone thathadescapedoutofJerusalemcameuntome,saying, Thecityissmitten

22NowthehandoftheLORDwasuponmeintheevening, aforehethatwasescapedcame;andhadopenedmymouth, untilhecametomeinthemorning;andmymouthwas opened,andIwasnomoredumb.

23ThenthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 24Sonofman,theythatinhabitthosewastesofthelandof Israelspeak,saying,Abrahamwasone,andheinherited theland:butwearemany;thelandisgivenusfor inheritance

25Whereforesayuntothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Ye eatwiththeblood,andliftupyoureyestowardyouridols, andshedblood:andshallyepossesstheland?

26Yestanduponyoursword,yeworkabomination,and yedefileeveryonehisneighbour'swife:andshallye possesstheland?

27Saythouthusuntothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD;As Ilive,surelytheythatareinthewastesshallfallbythe sword,andhimthatisintheopenfieldwillIgivetothe beaststobedevoured,andtheythatbeinthefortsandin thecavesshalldieofthepestilence

28ForIwilllaythelandmostdesolate,andthepompof herstrengthshallcease;andthemountainsofIsraelshall bedesolate,thatnoneshallpassthrough

29ThenshalltheyknowthatIamtheLORD,whenIhave laidthelandmostdesolatebecauseofalltheir abominationswhichtheyhavecommitted

30Also,thousonofman,thechildrenofthypeoplestill aretalkingagainsttheebythewallsandinthedoorsofthe houses,andspeakonetoanother,everyonetohisbrother, saying,Come,Iprayyou,andhearwhatisthewordthat comethforthfromtheLORD

31Andtheycomeuntotheeasthepeoplecometh,andthey sitbeforetheeasmypeople,andtheyhearthywords,but theywillnotdothem:forwiththeirmouththeyshew muchlove,buttheirheartgoethaftertheircovetousness

32And,lo,thouartuntothemasaverylovelysongofone thathathapleasantvoice,andcanplaywellonan instrument:fortheyhearthywords,buttheydothemnot

33Andwhenthiscomethtopass,(lo,itwillcome,)then shalltheyknowthataprophethathbeenamongthem

CHAPTER34

1AndthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,prophesyagainsttheshepherdsofIsrael, prophesy,andsayuntothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD untotheshepherds;WoebetotheshepherdsofIsraelthat dofeedthemselves!shouldnottheshepherdsfeedthe flocks?

3Yeeatthefat,andyeclotheyouwiththewool,yekill themthatarefed:butyefeednottheflock

4Thediseasedhaveyenotstrengthened,neitherhaveye healedthatwhichwassick,neitherhaveyeboundupthat whichwasbroken,neitherhaveyebroughtagainthat whichwasdrivenaway,neitherhaveyesoughtthatwhich waslost;butwithforceandwithcrueltyhaveyeruled them.

5Andtheywerescattered,becausethereisnoshepherd: andtheybecamemeattoallthebeastsofthefield,when theywerescattered.

6Mysheepwanderedthroughallthemountains,andupon everyhighhill:yea,myflockwasscattereduponallthe faceoftheearth,andnonedidsearchorseekafterthem.

7Therefore,yeshepherds,hearthewordoftheLORD;

8AsIlive,saiththeLordGOD,surelybecausemyflock becameaprey,andmyflockbecamemeattoeverybeast ofthefield,becausetherewasnoshepherd,neitherdidmy shepherdssearchformyflock,buttheshepherdsfed themselves,andfednotmyflock;

9Therefore,Oyeshepherds,hearthewordoftheLORD;

10ThussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iamagainstthe shepherds;andIwillrequiremyflockattheirhand,and causethemtoceasefromfeedingtheflock;neithershall theshepherdsfeedthemselvesanymore;forIwilldeliver myflockfromtheirmouth,thattheymaynotbemeatfor them

11ForthussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,I,evenI,will bothsearchmysheep,andseekthemout.

12Asashepherdseekethouthisflockinthedaythatheis amonghissheepthatarescattered;sowillIseekoutmy sheep,andwilldeliverthemoutofallplaceswherethey havebeenscatteredinthecloudyanddarkday

13AndIwillbringthemoutfromthepeople,andgather themfromthecountries,andwillbringthemtotheirown land,andfeedthemuponthemountainsofIsraelbythe rivers,andinalltheinhabitedplacesofthecountry

14Iwillfeedtheminagoodpasture,anduponthehigh mountainsofIsraelshalltheirfoldbe:thereshalltheylie inagoodfold,andinafatpastureshalltheyfeeduponthe mountainsofIsrael

15Iwillfeedmyflock,andIwillcausethemtoliedown, saiththeLordGOD

16Iwillseekthatwhichwaslost,andbringagainthat whichwasdrivenaway,andwillbindupthatwhichwas broken,andwillstrengthenthatwhichwassick:butIwill destroythefatandthestrong;Iwillfeedthemwith judgment

17Andasforyou,Omyflock,thussaiththeLordGOD; Behold,Ijudgebetweencattleandcattle,betweentherams andthehegoats

18Seemethitasmallthinguntoyoutohaveeatenupthe goodpasture,butyemusttreaddownwithyourfeetthe

residueofyourpastures?andtohavedrunkofthedeep waters,butyemustfoultheresiduewithyourfeet?

19Andasformyflock,theyeatthatwhichyehave troddenwithyourfeet;andtheydrinkthatwhichyehave fouledwithyourfeet.

20ThereforethussaiththeLordGODuntothem;Behold,I, evenI,willjudgebetweenthefatcattleandbetweenthe leancattle.

21Becauseyehavethrustwithsideandwithshoulder,and pushedallthediseasedwithyourhorns,tillyehave scatteredthemabroad;

22ThereforewillIsavemyflock,andtheyshallnomore beaprey;andIwilljudgebetweencattleandcattle.

23AndIwillsetuponeshepherdoverthem,andheshall feedthem,evenmyservantDavid;heshallfeedthem,and heshallbetheirshepherd.

24AndItheLORDwillbetheirGod,andmyservant Davidaprinceamongthem;ItheLORDhavespokenit 25AndIwillmakewiththemacovenantofpeace,and willcausetheevilbeaststoceaseoutoftheland:andthey shalldwellsafelyinthewilderness,andsleepinthewoods

26AndIwillmakethemandtheplacesroundaboutmy hillablessing;andIwillcausetheshowertocomedown inhisseason;thereshallbeshowersofblessing 27Andthetreeofthefieldshallyieldherfruit,andthe earthshallyieldherincrease,andtheyshallbesafeintheir land,andshallknowthatIamtheLORD,whenIhave brokenthebandsoftheiryoke,anddeliveredthemoutof thehandofthosethatservedthemselvesofthem 28Andtheyshallnomorebeapreytotheheathen,neither shallthebeastofthelanddevourthem;buttheyshalldwell safely,andnoneshallmakethemafraid

29AndIwillraiseupforthemaplantofrenown,andthey shallbenomoreconsumedwithhungerintheland,neither beartheshameoftheheathenanymore

30ThusshalltheyknowthatItheLORDtheirGodam withthem,andthatthey,eventhehouseofIsrael,aremy people,saiththeLordGOD

31Andyemyflock,theflockofmypasture,aremen,and IamyourGod,saiththeLordGOD.

CHAPTER35

1MoreoverthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 2Sonofman,setthyfaceagainstmountSeir,and prophesyagainstit,

3Andsayuntoit,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,O mountSeir,Iamagainstthee,andIwillstretchoutmine handagainstthee,andIwillmaketheemostdesolate

4Iwilllaythycitieswaste,andthoushaltbedesolate,and thoushaltknowthatIamtheLORD

5Becausethouhasthadaperpetualhatred,andhastshed thebloodofthechildrenofIsraelbytheforceofthesword inthetimeoftheircalamity,inthetimethattheiriniquity hadanend:

6Therefore,asIlive,saiththeLordGOD,Iwillprepare theeuntoblood,andbloodshallpursuethee:siththouhast nothatedblood,evenbloodshallpursuethee

7ThuswillImakemountSeirmostdesolate,andcutoff fromithimthatpassethoutandhimthatreturneth.

8AndIwillfillhismountainswithhisslainmen:inthy hills,andinthyvalleys,andinallthyrivers,shalltheyfall thatareslainwiththesword

9Iwillmaketheeperpetualdesolations,andthycities shallnotreturn:andyeshallknowthatIamtheLORD.

10Becausethouhastsaid,Thesetwonationsandthesetwo countriesshallbemine,andwewillpossessit;whereasthe LORDwasthere:

11Therefore,asIlive,saiththeLordGOD,Iwillevendo accordingtothineanger,andaccordingtothineenvy whichthouhastusedoutofthyhatredagainstthem;andI willmakemyselfknownamongthem,whenIhavejudged thee.

12AndthoushaltknowthatIamtheLORD,andthatI haveheardallthyblasphemieswhichthouhastspoken againstthemountainsofIsrael,saying,Theyarelaid desolate,theyaregivenustoconsume

13Thuswithyourmouthyehaveboastedagainstme,and havemultipliedyourwordsagainstme:Ihaveheardthem.

14ThussaiththeLordGOD;Whenthewholeearth rejoiceth,Iwillmaketheedesolate

15Asthoudidstrejoiceattheinheritanceofthehouseof Israel,becauseitwasdesolate,sowillIdountothee:thou shaltbedesolate,OmountSeir,andallIdumea,evenallof it:andtheyshallknowthatIamtheLORD.

CHAPTER36

1Also,thousonofman,prophesyuntothemountainsof Israel,andsay,YemountainsofIsrael,hearthewordof theLORD:

2ThussaiththeLordGOD;Becausetheenemyhathsaid againstyou,Aha,eventheancienthighplacesareoursin possession:

3Thereforeprophesyandsay,ThussaiththeLordGOD; Becausetheyhavemadeyoudesolate,andswallowedyou uponeveryside,thatyemightbeapossessionuntothe residueoftheheathen,andyearetakenupinthelipsof talkers,andareaninfamyofthepeople:

4Therefore,yemountainsofIsrael,hearthewordofthe LordGOD;ThussaiththeLordGODtothemountains, andtothehills,totherivers,andtothevalleys,tothe desolatewastes,andtothecitiesthatareforsaken,which becameapreyandderisiontotheresidueoftheheathen thatareroundabout;

5ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Surelyinthefireof myjealousyhaveIspokenagainsttheresidueofthe heathen,andagainstallIdumea,whichhaveappointedmy landintotheirpossessionwiththejoyofalltheirheart, withdespitefulminds,tocastitoutforaprey

6ProphesythereforeconcerningthelandofIsrael,andsay untothemountains,andtothehills,totherivers,andtothe valleys,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Ihavespoken inmyjealousyandinmyfury,becauseyehavebornethe shameoftheheathen:

7ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;Ihaveliftedupmine hand,Surelytheheathenthatareaboutyou,theyshallbear theirshame

8Butye,OmountainsofIsrael,yeshallshootforthyour branches,andyieldyourfruittomypeopleofIsrael;for theyareathandtocome

13ThussaiththeLordGOD;Becausetheysayuntoyou, Thoulanddevourestupmen,andhastbereavedthynations; 14Thereforethoushaltdevourmennomore,neither bereavethynationsanymore,saiththeLordGOD

15NeitherwillIcausementohearintheetheshameofthe heathenanymore,neithershaltthoubearthereproachof thepeopleanymore,neithershaltthoucausethynationsto fallanymore,saiththeLordGOD

16MoreoverthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 17Sonofman,whenthehouseofIsraeldweltintheirown land,theydefileditbytheirownwayandbytheirdoings: theirwaywasbeforemeastheuncleannessofaremoved woman

18WhereforeIpouredmyfuryuponthemfortheblood thattheyhadshedupontheland,andfortheiridols wherewiththeyhadpollutedit:

19AndIscatteredthemamongtheheathen,andtheywere dispersedthroughthecountries:accordingtotheirwayand accordingtotheirdoingsIjudgedthem

20Andwhentheyentereduntotheheathen,whitherthey went,theyprofanedmyholyname,whentheysaidtothem, ThesearethepeopleoftheLORD,andaregoneforthout ofhisland

21ButIhadpityformineholyname,whichthehouseof Israelhadprofanedamongtheheathen,whithertheywent 22ThereforesayuntothehouseofIsrael,Thussaiththe LordGOD;Idonotthisforyoursakes,OhouseofIsrael, butformineholyname'ssake,whichyehaveprofaned amongtheheathen,whitheryewent

23AndIwillsanctifymygreatname,whichwasprofaned amongtheheathen,whichyehaveprofanedinthemidstof them;andtheheathenshallknowthatIamtheLORD, saiththeLordGOD,whenIshallbesanctifiedinyou beforetheireyes

24ForIwilltakeyoufromamongtheheathen,andgather yououtofallcountries,andwillbringyouintoyourown land

25ThenwillIsprinklecleanwateruponyou,andyeshall beclean:fromallyourfilthiness,andfromallyouridols, willIcleanseyou

26AnewheartalsowillIgiveyou,andanewspiritwillI putwithinyou:andIwilltakeawaythestonyheartoutof yourflesh,andIwillgiveyouanheartofflesh

27AndIwillputmyspiritwithinyou,andcauseyouto walkinmystatutes,andyeshallkeepmyjudgments,and dothem

28AndyeshalldwellinthelandthatIgavetoyourfathers; andyeshallbemypeople,andIwillbeyourGod

29Iwillalsosaveyoufromallyouruncleannesses:andI willcallforthecorn,andwillincreaseit,andlayno famineuponyou

30AndIwillmultiplythefruitofthetree,andtheincrease ofthefield,thatyeshallreceivenomorereproachof famineamongtheheathen

31Thenshallyerememberyourownevilways,andyour doingsthatwerenotgood,andshalllotheyourselvesin yourownsightforyouriniquitiesandforyour abominations

32NotforyoursakesdoIthis,saiththeLordGOD,beit knownuntoyou:beashamedandconfoundedforyourown ways,OhouseofIsrael.

33ThussaiththeLordGOD;InthedaythatIshallhave cleansedyoufromallyouriniquitiesIwillalsocauseyou todwellinthecities,andthewastesshallbebuilded.

34Andthedesolatelandshallbetilled,whereasitlay desolateinthesightofallthatpassedby

35Andtheyshallsay,Thislandthatwasdesolateis becomelikethegardenofEden;andthewasteanddesolate andruinedcitiesarebecomefenced,andareinhabited

36Thentheheathenthatareleftroundaboutyoushall knowthatItheLORDbuildtheruinedplaces,andplant thatthatwasdesolate:ItheLORDhavespokenit,andI willdoit.

37ThussaiththeLordGOD;Iwillyetforthisbeenquired ofbythehouseofIsrael,todoitforthem;Iwillincrease themwithmenlikeaflock.

38Astheholyflock,astheflockofJerusaleminher solemnfeasts;soshallthewastecitiesbefilledwithflocks ofmen:andtheyshallknowthatIamtheLORD.

1ThehandoftheLORDwasuponme,andcarriedmeout inthespiritoftheLORD,andsetmedowninthemidstof thevalleywhichwasfullofbones, 2Andcausedmetopassbythemroundabout:and,behold, therewereverymanyintheopenvalley;and,lo,theywere verydry.

3Andhesaiduntome,Sonofman,cantheseboneslive? AndIanswered,OLordGOD,thouknowest

4Againhesaiduntome,Prophesyuponthesebones,and sayuntothem,Oyedrybones,hearthewordoftheLORD

5ThussaiththeLordGODuntothesebones;Behold,I willcausebreathtoenterintoyou,andyeshalllive:

6AndIwilllaysinewsuponyou,andwillbringupflesh uponyou,andcoveryouwithskin,andputbreathinyou, andyeshalllive;andyeshallknowthatIamtheLORD

7SoIprophesiedasIwascommanded:andasI prophesied,therewasanoise,andbeholdashaking,and thebonescametogether,bonetohisbone.

9Thensaidheuntome,Prophesyuntothewind,prophesy, sonofman,andsaytothewind,ThussaiththeLordGOD; Comefromthefourwinds,Obreath,andbreatheupon theseslain,thattheymaylive

10SoIprophesiedashecommandedme,andthebreath cameintothem,andtheylived,andstoodupupontheir feet,anexceedinggreatarmy

11Thenhesaiduntome,Sonofman,thesebonesarethe wholehouseofIsrael:behold,theysay,Ourbonesare dried,andourhopeislost:wearecutoffforourparts 12Thereforeprophesyandsayuntothem,Thussaiththe LordGOD;Behold,Omypeople,Iwillopenyourgraves, andcauseyoutocomeupoutofyourgraves,andbring youintothelandofIsrael

13AndyeshallknowthatIamtheLORD,whenIhave openedyourgraves,Omypeople,andbroughtyouupout ofyourgraves,

14Andshallputmyspiritinyou,andyeshalllive,andI shallplaceyouinyourownland:thenshallyeknowthatI theLORDhavespokenit,andperformedit,saiththe LORD

19Sayuntothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iwill takethestickofJoseph,whichisinthehandofEphraim, andthetribesofIsraelhisfellows,andwillputthemwith him,evenwiththestickofJudah,andmakethemonestick, andtheyshallbeoneinminehand

20Andthestickswhereonthouwritestshallbeinthine handbeforetheireyes

21Andsayuntothem,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,I willtakethechildrenofIsraelfromamongtheheathen, whithertheybegone,andwillgatherthemoneveryside, andbringthemintotheirownland:

22AndIwillmakethemonenationinthelanduponthe mountainsofIsrael;andonekingshallbekingtothemall: andtheyshallbenomoretwonations,neithershalltheybe dividedintotwokingdomsanymoreatall:

23Neithershalltheydefilethemselvesanymorewiththeir idols,norwiththeirdetestablethings,norwithanyoftheir transgressions:butIwillsavethemoutofalltheir dwellingplaces,whereintheyhavesinned,andwillcleanse them:soshalltheybemypeople,andIwillbetheirGod 24AndDavidmyservantshallbekingoverthem;and theyallshallhaveoneshepherd:theyshallalsowalkinmy judgments,andobservemystatutes,anddothem.

25AndtheyshalldwellinthelandthatIhavegivenunto Jacobmyservant,whereinyourfathershavedwelt;and theyshalldwelltherein,eventhey,andtheirchildren,and theirchildren'schildrenforever:andmyservantDavid shallbetheirprinceforever

26MoreoverIwillmakeacovenantofpeacewiththem;it shallbeaneverlastingcovenantwiththem:andIwillplace them,andmultiplythem,andwillsetmysanctuaryinthe midstofthemforevermore.

4AndIwillturntheeback,andputhooksintothyjaws, andIwillbringtheeforth,andallthinearmy,horsesand horsemen,allofthemclothedwithallsortsofarmour, evenagreatcompanywithbucklersandshields,allof themhandlingswords:

5Persia,Ethiopia,andLibyawiththem;allofthemwith shieldandhelmet:

6Gomer,andallhisbands;thehouseofTogarmahofthe northquarters,andallhisbands:andmanypeoplewith thee

7Bethouprepared,andprepareforthyself,thou,andall thycompanythatareassembleduntothee,andbethoua guarduntothem

8Aftermanydaysthoushaltbevisited:inthelatteryears thoushaltcomeintothelandthatisbroughtbackfromthe sword,andisgatheredoutofmanypeople,againstthe mountainsofIsrael,whichhavebeenalwayswaste:butit isbroughtforthoutofthenations,andtheyshalldwell safelyallofthem

11Andthoushaltsay,Iwillgouptothelandofunwalled villages;Iwillgotothemthatareatrest,thatdwellsafely, allofthemdwellingwithoutwalls,andhavingneitherbars norgates,

12Totakeaspoil,andtotakeaprey;toturnthinehand uponthedesolateplacesthatarenowinhabited,andupon thepeoplethataregatheredoutofthenations,whichhave gottencattleandgoods,thatdwellinthemidstoftheland 13Sheba,andDedan,andthemerchantsofTarshish,with alltheyounglionsthereof,shallsayuntothee,Artthou cometotakeaspoil?hastthougatheredthycompanyto takeaprey?tocarryawaysilverandgold,totakeaway cattleandgoods,totakeagreatspoil?

14Therefore,sonofman,prophesyandsayuntoGog, ThussaiththeLordGOD;Inthatdaywhenmypeopleof Israeldwellethsafely,shaltthounotknowit?

15Andthoushaltcomefromthyplaceoutofthenorth parts,thou,andmanypeoplewiththee,allofthemriding uponhorses,agreatcompany,andamightyarmy: 16AndthoushaltcomeupagainstmypeopleofIsrael,as acloudtocovertheland;itshallbeinthelatterdays,andI willbringtheeagainstmyland,thattheheathenmayknow me,whenIshallbesanctifiedinthee,OGog,beforetheir eyes.

17ThussaiththeLordGOD;ArtthouheofwhomIhave spokeninoldtimebymyservantstheprophetsofIsrael, whichprophesiedinthosedaysmanyyearsthatIwould bringtheeagainstthem?

18AnditshallcometopassatthesametimewhenGog shallcomeagainstthelandofIsrael,saiththeLordGOD, thatmyfuryshallcomeupinmyface

19ForinmyjealousyandinthefireofmywrathhaveI spoken,Surelyinthatdaythereshallbeagreatshakingin thelandofIsrael;

20Sothatthefishesofthesea,andthefowlsoftheheaven, andthebeastsofthefield,andallcreepingthingsthat creepupontheearth,andallthementhatareupontheface oftheearth,shallshakeatmypresence,andthemountains shallbethrowndown,andthesteepplacesshallfall,and everywallshallfalltotheground

21AndIwillcallforaswordagainsthimthroughoutall mymountains,saiththeLordGOD:everyman'ssword shallbeagainsthisbrother

22AndIwillpleadagainsthimwithpestilenceandwith blood;andIwillrainuponhim,anduponhisbands,and uponthemanypeoplethatarewithhim,anoverflowing rain,andgreathailstones,fire,andbrimstone.

23ThuswillImagnifymyself,andsanctifymyself;andI willbeknownintheeyesofmanynations,andtheyshall knowthatIamtheLORD.

CHAPTER39

1Therefore,thousonofman,prophesyagainstGog,and say,ThussaiththeLordGOD;Behold,Iamagainstthee, OGog,thechiefprinceofMeshechandTubal:

2AndIwillturntheeback,andleavebutthesixthpartof thee,andwillcausetheetocomeupfromthenorthparts, andwillbringtheeuponthemountainsofIsrael:

3AndIwillsmitethybowoutofthylefthand,andwill causethinearrowstofalloutofthyrighthand

4ThoushaltfalluponthemountainsofIsrael,thou,andall thybands,andthepeoplethatiswiththee:Iwillgivethee untotheravenousbirdsofeverysort,andtothebeastsof thefieldtobedevoured.

5Thoushaltfallupontheopenfield:forIhavespokenit, saiththeLordGOD

6AndIwillsendafireonMagog,andamongthemthat dwellcarelesslyintheisles:andtheyshallknowthatIam theLORD

7SowillImakemyholynameknowninthemidstofmy peopleIsrael;andIwillnotletthempollutemyholyname anymore:andtheheathenshallknowthatIamtheLORD, theHolyOneinIsrael.

8Behold,itiscome,anditisdone,saiththeLordGOD; thisisthedaywhereofIhavespoken.

9AndtheythatdwellinthecitiesofIsraelshallgoforth, andshallsetonfireandburntheweapons,boththeshields andthebucklers,thebowsandthearrows,andthe handstaves,andthespears,andtheyshallburnthemwith firesevenyears:

10Sothattheyshalltakenowoodoutofthefield,neither cutdownanyoutoftheforests;fortheyshallburnthe weaponswithfire:andtheyshallspoilthosethatspoiled them,androbthosethatrobbedthem,saiththeLordGOD. 11Anditshallcometopassinthatday,thatIwillgive untoGogaplacethereofgravesinIsrael,thevalleyofthe passengersontheeastofthesea:anditshallstopthenoses ofthepassengers:andthereshalltheyburyGogandallhis multitude:andtheyshallcallitThevalleyofHamongog

12AndsevenmonthsshallthehouseofIsraelbeburying ofthem,thattheymaycleansetheland.

13Yea,allthepeopleofthelandshallburythem;andit shallbetothemarenownthedaythatIshallbeglorified, saiththeLordGOD.

14Andtheyshallseveroutmenofcontinualemployment, passingthroughthelandtoburywiththepassengersthose thatremainuponthefaceoftheearth,tocleanseit:after theendofsevenmonthsshalltheysearch

15Andthepassengersthatpassthroughtheland,when anyseethaman'sbone,thenshallhesetupasignbyit,till theburiershaveburieditinthevalleyofHamongog 16AndalsothenameofthecityshallbeHamonah.Thus shalltheycleansetheland

17And,thousonofman,thussaiththeLordGOD;Speak untoeveryfeatheredfowl,andtoeverybeastofthefield, Assembleyourselves,andcome;gatheryourselveson everysidetomysacrificethatIdosacrificeforyou,evena greatsacrificeuponthemountainsofIsrael,thatyemayeat flesh,anddrinkblood

18Yeshalleatthefleshofthemighty,anddrinktheblood oftheprincesoftheearth,oframs,oflambs,andofgoats, ofbullocks,allofthemfatlingsofBashan

19Andyeshalleatfattillyebefull,anddrinkbloodtillye bedrunken,ofmysacrificewhichIhavesacrificedforyou.

20Thusyeshallbefilledatmytablewithhorsesand chariots,withmightymen,andwithallmenofwar,saith theLordGOD.

21AndIwillsetmygloryamongtheheathen,andallthe heathenshallseemyjudgmentthatIhaveexecuted,and myhandthatIhavelaiduponthem.

22SothehouseofIsraelshallknowthatIamtheLORD theirGodfromthatdayandforward

23AndtheheathenshallknowthatthehouseofIsrael wentintocaptivityfortheiriniquity:becausethey trespassedagainstme,thereforehidImyfacefromthem, andgavethemintothehandoftheirenemies:sofellthey allbythesword

24Accordingtotheiruncleannessandaccordingtotheir transgressionshaveIdoneuntothem,andhidmyface fromthem

25ThereforethussaiththeLordGOD;NowwillIbring againthecaptivityofJacob,andhavemercyuponthe wholehouseofIsrael,andwillbejealousformyholy name;

26Afterthattheyhavebornetheirshame,andalltheir trespasseswherebytheyhavetrespassedagainstme,when theydweltsafelyintheirland,andnonemadethemafraid.

27WhenIhavebroughtthemagainfromthepeople,and gatheredthemoutoftheirenemies'lands,andam sanctifiedintheminthesightofmanynations;

28ThenshalltheyknowthatIamtheLORDtheirGod, whichcausedthemtobeledintocaptivityamongthe heathen:butIhavegatheredthemuntotheirownland,and haveleftnoneofthemanymorethere

29NeitherwillIhidemyfaceanymorefromthem:forI havepouredoutmyspirituponthehouseofIsrael,saith theLordGOD

1Inthefiveandtwentiethyearofourcaptivity,inthe beginningoftheyear,inthetenthdayofthemonth,inthe fourteenthyearafterthatthecitywassmitten,inthe selfsamedaythehandoftheLORDwasuponme,and broughtmethither

2InthevisionsofGodbroughthemeintothelandof Israel,andsetmeuponaveryhighmountain,bywhich wasastheframeofacityonthesouth

3Andhebroughtmethither,and,behold,therewasaman, whoseappearancewasliketheappearanceofbrass,witha lineofflaxinhishand,andameasuringreed;andhestood inthegate

4Andthemansaiduntome,Sonofman,beholdwiththine eyes,andhearwiththineears,andsetthineheartuponall thatIshallshewthee;fortotheintentthatImightshew themuntotheeartthoubroughthither:declareallthatthou seesttothehouseofIsrael.

2ThensaidtheLORDuntome;Thisgateshallbeshut,it shallnotbeopened,andnomanshallenterinbyit; becausetheLORD,theGodofIsrael,hathenteredinbyit, thereforeitshallbeshut

3Itisfortheprince;theprince,heshallsitinittoeat breadbeforetheLORD;heshallenterbythewayofthe porchofthatgate,andshallgooutbythewayofthesame 4Thenbroughthemethewayofthenorthgatebeforethe house:andIlooked,and,behold,thegloryoftheLORD filledthehouseoftheLORD:andIfelluponmyface

9ThussaiththeLordGOD;Nostranger,uncircumcisedin heart,noruncircumcisedinflesh,shallenterintomy sanctuary,ofanystrangerthatisamongthechildrenof Israel

10AndtheLevitesthataregoneawayfarfromme,when Israelwentastray,whichwentastrayawayfrommeafter theiridols;theyshallevenbeartheiriniquity

11Yettheyshallbeministersinmysanctuary,having chargeatthegatesofthehouse,andministeringtothe house:theyshallslaytheburntofferingandthesacrifice forthepeople,andtheyshallstandbeforethemtominister untothem

12Becausetheyministereduntothembeforetheiridols, andcausedthehouseofIsraeltofallintoiniquity; thereforehaveIliftedupminehandagainstthem,saiththe LordGOD,andtheyshallbeartheiriniquity

13Andtheyshallnotcomenearuntome,todotheoffice ofapriestuntome,nortocomeneartoanyofmyholy things,inthemostholyplace:buttheyshallbeartheir shame,andtheirabominationswhichtheyhavecommitted.

14ButIwillmakethemkeepersofthechargeofthehouse, foralltheservicethereof,andforallthatshallbedone therein.

15ButtheprieststheLevites,thesonsofZadok,thatkept thechargeofmysanctuarywhenthechildrenofIsrael wentastrayfromme,theyshallcomeneartometo ministeruntome,andtheyshallstandbeforemetooffer untomethefatandtheblood,saiththeLordGOD:

16Theyshallenterintomysanctuary,andtheyshallcome neartomytable,toministeruntome,andtheyshallkeep mycharge.

17Anditshallcometopass,thatwhentheyenterinatthe gatesoftheinnercourt,theyshallbeclothedwithlinen garments;andnowoolshallcomeuponthem,whilesthey ministerinthegatesoftheinnercourt,andwithin.

18Theyshallhavelinenbonnetsupontheirheads,and shallhavelinenbreechesupontheirloins;theyshallnot girdthemselveswithanythingthatcausethsweat

19Andwhentheygoforthintotheuttercourt,eveninto theuttercourttothepeople,theyshallputofftheir garmentswhereintheyministered,andlaythemintheholy chambers,andtheyshallputonothergarments;andthey shallnotsanctifythepeoplewiththeirgarments.

20Neithershalltheyshavetheirheads,norsuffertheir lockstogrowlong;theyshallonlypolltheirheads

21Neithershallanypriestdrinkwine,whentheyenterinto theinnercourt.

22Neithershalltheytakefortheirwivesawidow,norher thatisputaway:buttheyshalltakemaidensoftheseedof thehouseofIsrael,orawidowthathadapriestbefore.

23Andtheyshallteachmypeoplethedifferencebetween theholyandprofane,andcausethemtodiscernbetween theuncleanandtheclean.

24Andincontroversytheyshallstandinjudgment;and theyshalljudgeitaccordingtomyjudgments:andthey shallkeepmylawsandmystatutesinallmineassemblies; andtheyshallhallowmysabbaths

25Andtheyshallcomeatnodeadpersontodefile themselves:butforfather,orformother,orforson,orfor daughter,forbrother,orforsisterthathathhadnohusband, theymaydefilethemselves.

26Andafterheiscleansed,theyshallreckonuntohim sevendays

27Andinthedaythathegoethintothesanctuary,untothe innercourt,toministerinthesanctuary,heshallofferhis sinoffering,saiththeLordGOD

28Anditshallbeuntothemforaninheritance:Iamtheir inheritance:andyeshallgivethemnopossessioninIsrael: Iamtheirpossession

29Theyshalleatthemeatoffering,andthesinoffering, andthetrespassoffering;andeverydedicatedthingin Israelshallbetheirs

30Andthefirstofallthefirstfruitsofallthings,andevery oblationofall,ofeverysortofyouroblations,shallbethe priest's:yeshallalsogiveuntothepriestthefirstofyour dough,thathemaycausetheblessingtorestinthinehouse.

2Ofthisthereshallbeforthesanctuaryfivehundredin length,withfivehundredinbreadth,squareroundabout; andfiftycubitsroundaboutforthesuburbsthereof

3Andofthismeasureshaltthoumeasurethelengthoffive andtwentythousand,andthebreadthoftenthousand:and initshallbethesanctuaryandthemostholyplace.

4Theholyportionofthelandshallbefortheprieststhe ministersofthesanctuary,whichshallcomenearto ministeruntotheLORD:anditshallbeaplacefortheir houses,andanholyplaceforthesanctuary.

8InthelandshallbehispossessioninIsrael:andmy princesshallnomoreoppressmypeople;andtherestof thelandshalltheygivetothehouseofIsraelaccordingto theirtribes

8Andwhentheprinceshallenter,heshallgoinbythe wayoftheporchofthatgate,andheshallgoforthbythe waythereof

9Butwhenthepeopleofthelandshallcomebeforethe LORDinthesolemnfeasts,hethatenterethinbytheway ofthenorthgatetoworshipshallgooutbythewayofthe southgate;andhethatenterethbythewayofthesouth gateshallgoforthbythewayofthenorthgate:heshallnot returnbythewayofthegatewherebyhecamein,butshall goforthoveragainstit.

10Andtheprinceinthemidstofthem,whentheygoin, shallgoin;andwhentheygoforth,shallgoforth.

11Andinthefeastsandinthesolemnitiesthemeat offeringshallbeanephahtoabullock,andanephahtoa ram,andtothelambsasheisabletogive,andanhinofoil toanephah.

12Nowwhentheprinceshallprepareavoluntaryburnt offeringorpeaceofferingsvoluntarilyuntotheLORD,one shallthenopenhimthegatethatlookethtowardtheeast, andheshallpreparehisburntofferingandhispeace offerings,ashedidonthesabbathday:thenheshallgo forth;andafterhisgoingforthoneshallshutthegate

13Thoushaltdailyprepareaburntofferinguntothe LORDofalambofthefirstyearwithoutblemish:thou shaltprepareiteverymorning

14Andthoushaltprepareameatofferingforitevery morning,thesixthpartofanephah,andthethirdpartofan hinofoil,totemperwiththefineflour;ameatoffering continuallybyaperpetualordinanceuntotheLORD.

15Thusshalltheypreparethelamb,andthemeatoffering, andtheoil,everymorningforacontinualburntoffering

16ThussaiththeLordGOD;Iftheprincegiveagiftunto anyofhissons,theinheritancethereofshallbehissons';it shallbetheirpossessionbyinheritance

17Butifhegiveagiftofhisinheritancetooneofhis servants,thenitshallbehistotheyearofliberty;afterit shallreturntotheprince:buthisinheritanceshallbehis sons'forthem.

18Moreovertheprinceshallnottakeofthepeople's inheritancebyoppression,tothrustthemoutoftheir possession;butheshallgivehissonsinheritanceoutofhis ownpossession:thatmypeoplebenotscatteredeveryman fromhispossession

19Afterhebroughtmethroughtheentry,whichwasatthe sideofthegate,intotheholychambersofthepriests, whichlookedtowardthenorth:and,behold,therewasa placeonthetwosideswestward.

20Thensaidheuntome,Thisistheplacewherethe priestsshallboilthetrespassofferingandthesinoffering, wheretheyshallbakethemeatoffering;thattheybear themnotoutintotheuttercourt,tosanctifythepeople

21Thenhebroughtmeforthintotheuttercourt,and causedmetopassbythefourcornersofthecourt;and, behold,ineverycornerofthecourttherewasacourt

22Inthefourcornersofthecourttherewerecourtsjoined offortycubitslongandthirtybroad:thesefourcorners wereofonemeasure

23Andtherewasarowofbuildingroundaboutinthem, roundaboutthemfour,anditwasmadewithboilingplaces undertherowsroundabout

24Thensaidheuntome,Thesearetheplacesofthemthat boil,wheretheministersofthehouseshallboilthe sacrificeofthepeople

1Afterwardhebroughtmeagainuntothedoorofthe house;and,behold,watersissuedoutfromunderthe thresholdofthehouseeastward:fortheforefrontofthe housestoodtowardtheeast,andthewaterscamedown fromunderfromtherightsideofthehouse,atthesouth sideofthealtar

2Thenbroughthemeoutofthewayofthegatenorthward, andledmeaboutthewaywithoutuntotheuttergatebythe waythatlooketheastward;and,behold,thereranout watersontherightside

3Andwhenthemanthathadthelineinhishandwent fortheastward,hemeasuredathousandcubits,andhe broughtmethroughthewaters;thewatersweretothe ankles

4Againhemeasuredathousand,andbroughtmethrough thewaters;thewatersweretotheknees.Againhe measuredathousand,andbroughtmethrough;thewaters weretotheloins

5Afterwardhemeasuredathousand;anditwasariverthat Icouldnotpassover:forthewaterswererisen,watersto swimin,ariverthatcouldnotbepassedover

6Andhesaiduntome,Sonofman,hastthouseenthis? Thenhebroughtme,andcausedmetoreturntothebrink oftheriver

7NowwhenIhadreturned,behold,atthebankoftheriver wereverymanytreesontheonesideandontheother.

8Thensaidheuntome,Thesewatersissueouttowardthe eastcountry,andgodownintothedesert,andgointothe sea:whichbeingbroughtforthintothesea,thewatersshall behealed

9Anditshallcometopass,thateverythingthatliveth, whichmoveth,whithersoevertheriversshallcome,shall live:andthereshallbeaverygreatmultitudeoffish, becausethesewatersshallcomethither:fortheyshallbe healed;andeverythingshalllivewhithertherivercometh 10Anditshallcometopass,thatthefishersshallstand uponitfromEngedievenuntoEneglaim;theyshallbea placetospreadforthnets;theirfishshallbeaccordingto theirkinds,asthefishofthegreatsea,exceedingmany 11Butthemiryplacesthereofandthemarishesthereof shallnotbehealed;theyshallbegiventosalt

12Andbytheriveruponthebankthereof,onthissideand onthatside,shallgrowalltreesformeat,whoseleafshall notfade,neithershallthefruitthereofbeconsumed:it shallbringforthnewfruitaccordingtohismonths,because theirwaterstheyissuedoutofthesanctuary:andthefruit thereofshallbeformeat,andtheleafthereofformedicine 13ThussaiththeLordGOD;Thisshallbetheborder, wherebyyeshallinheritthelandaccordingtothetwelve tribesofIsrael:Josephshallhavetwoportions

14Andyeshallinheritit,oneaswellasanother: concerningthewhichIliftedupminehandtogiveitunto yourfathers:andthislandshallfalluntoyoufor inheritance

15Andthisshallbetheborderofthelandtowardthenorth side,fromthegreatsea,thewayofHethlon,asmengoto Zedad;

16Hamath,Berothah,Sibraim,whichisbetweenthe borderofDamascusandtheborderofHamath; Hazarhatticon,whichisbythecoastofHauran

17AndtheborderfromtheseashallbeHazarenan,the borderofDamascus,andthenorthnorthward,andthe borderofHamathAndthisisthenorthside

18AndtheeastsideyeshallmeasurefromHauran,and fromDamascus,andfromGilead,andfromthelandof IsraelbyJordan,fromtheborderuntotheeastseaAnd thisistheeastside.

19Andthesouthsidesouthward,fromTamareventothe watersofstrifeinKadesh,therivertothegreatsea.And thisisthesouthsidesouthward

20Thewestsidealsoshallbethegreatseafromtheborder, tillamancomeoveragainstHamathThisisthewestside

21Soshallyedividethislanduntoyouaccordingtothe tribesofIsrael

22Anditshallcometopass,thatyeshalldivideitbylot foraninheritanceuntoyou,andtothestrangersthat sojournamongyou,whichshallbegetchildrenamongyou: andtheyshallbeuntoyouasborninthecountryamong thechildrenofIsrael;theyshallhaveinheritancewithyou amongthetribesofIsrael

10Andforthem,evenforthepriests,shallbethisholy oblation;towardthenorthfiveandtwentythousandin length,andtowardthewesttenthousandinbreadth,and towardtheeasttenthousandinbreadth,andtowardthe southfiveandtwentythousandinlength:andthesanctuary oftheLORDshallbeinthemidstthereof

11Itshallbefortheprieststhataresanctifiedofthesons ofZadok;whichhavekeptmycharge,whichwentnot astraywhenthechildrenofIsraelwentastray,asthe Leviteswentastray.

12Andthisoblationofthelandthatisofferedshallbeunto themathingmostholybytheborderoftheLevites

13AndoveragainsttheborderoftheprieststheLevites shallhavefiveandtwentythousandinlength,andten thousandinbreadth:allthelengthshallbefiveandtwenty thousand,andthebreadthtenthousand.

14Andtheyshallnotsellofit,neitherexchange,nor alienatethefirstfruitsoftheland:foritisholyuntothe LORD.

15Andthefivethousand,thatareleftinthebreadthover againstthefiveandtwentythousand,shallbeaprofane placeforthecity,fordwelling,andforsuburbs:andthe cityshallbeinthemidstthereof

16Andtheseshallbethemeasuresthereof;thenorthside fourthousandandfivehundred,andthesouthsidefour thousandandfivehundred,andontheeastsidefour thousandandfivehundred,andthewestsidefourthousand andfivehundred

20Alltheoblationshallbefiveandtwentythousandby fiveandtwentythousand:yeshalloffertheholyoblation foursquare,withthepossessionofthecity

21Andtheresidueshallbefortheprince,ontheoneside andontheotheroftheholyoblation,andofthepossession ofthecity,overagainstthefiveandtwentythousandofthe oblationtowardtheeastborder,andwestwardoveragainst thefiveandtwentythousandtowardthewestborder,over againsttheportionsfortheprince:anditshallbetheholy oblation;andthesanctuaryofthehouseshallbeinthe midstthereof

22MoreoverfromthepossessionoftheLevites,andfrom thepossessionofthecity,beinginthemidstofthatwhich istheprince's,betweentheborderofJudahandtheborder ofBenjamin,shallbefortheprince.
