3Allthingsweremadebyhim;andwithouthimwasnot anythingmadethatwasmade

4Inhimwaslife;andthelifewasthelightofmen

5Andthelightshinethindarkness;andthedarkness comprehendeditnot

6TherewasamansentfromGod,whosenamewasJohn

7Thesamecameforawitness,tobearwitnessoftheLight, thatallmenthroughhimmightbelieve 8HewasnotthatLight,butwassenttobearwitnessof thatLight.

9ThatwasthetrueLight,whichlightetheverymanthat comethintotheworld

10Hewasintheworld,andtheworldwasmadebyhim, andtheworldknewhimnot

11Hecameuntohisown,andhisownreceivedhimnot

12Butasmanyasreceivedhim,tothemgavehepowerto becomethesonsofGod,eventothemthatbelieveonhis name:

13Whichwereborn,notofblood,norofthewillofthe flesh,norofthewillofman,butofGod

14AndtheWordwasmadeflesh,anddweltamongus, (andwebeheldhisglory,thegloryasoftheonlybegotten oftheFather,)fullofgraceandtruth

15Johnbarewitnessofhim,andcried,saying,Thiswashe ofwhomIspake,Hethatcomethaftermeispreferred beforeme:forhewasbeforeme

16Andofhisfulnesshaveallwereceived,andgracefor grace.

17ForthelawwasgivenbyMoses,butgraceandtruth camebyJesusChrist.

18NomanhathseenGodatanytime;theonlybegotten Son,whichisinthebosomoftheFather,hehathdeclared him

19AndthisistherecordofJohn,whentheJewssent priestsandLevitesfromJerusalemtoaskhim,Whoart thou?

20Andheconfessed,anddeniednot;butconfessed,Iam nottheChrist

21Andtheyaskedhim,Whatthen?ArtthouElias?Andhe saith,IamnotArtthouthatprophet?Andheanswered, No

22Thensaidtheyuntohim,Whoartthou?thatwemay giveananswertothemthatsentusWhatsayestthouof thyself?

23Hesaid,Iamthevoiceofonecryinginthewilderness, MakestraightthewayoftheLord,assaidtheprophet Esaias

24AndtheywhichweresentwereofthePharisees.

25Andtheyaskedhim,andsaiduntohim,Whybaptizest thouthen,ifthoubenotthatChrist,norElias,neitherthat prophet?

26Johnansweredthem,saying,Ibaptizewithwater:but therestandethoneamongyou,whomyeknownot;

27Heitis,whocomingaftermeispreferredbeforeme, whoseshoe'slatchetIamnotworthytounloose

28ThesethingsweredoneinBethabarabeyondJordan, whereJohnwasbaptizing

29ThenextdayJohnseethJesuscominguntohim,and saith,BeholdtheLambofGod,whichtakethawaythesin oftheworld

30ThisisheofwhomIsaid,Aftermecomethaman whichispreferredbeforeme:forhewasbeforeme.

31AndIknewhimnot:butthatheshouldbemade manifesttoIsrael,thereforeamIcomebaptizingwith water.

32AndJohnbarerecord,saying,IsawtheSpirit descendingfromheavenlikeadove,anditabodeuponhim

33AndIknewhimnot:buthethatsentmetobaptizewith water,thesamesaiduntome,Uponwhomthoushaltsee theSpiritdescending,andremainingonhim,thesameishe whichbaptizethwiththeHolyGhost.

34AndIsaw,andbarerecordthatthisistheSonofGod

35AgainthenextdayafterJohnstood,andtwoofhis disciples;

36AndlookinguponJesusashewalked,hesaith,Behold theLambofGod!

37Andthetwodisciplesheardhimspeak,andthey followedJesus

38ThenJesusturned,andsawthemfollowing,andsaith untothem,Whatseekye?Theysaiduntohim,Rabbi, (whichistosay,beinginterpreted,Master,)wheredwellest thou?

39Hesaithuntothem,ComeandseeTheycameandsaw wherehedwelt,andabodewithhimthatday:foritwas aboutthetenthhour.

40OneofthetwowhichheardJohnspeak,andfollowed him,wasAndrew,SimonPeter'sbrother

41HefirstfindethhisownbrotherSimon,andsaithunto him,WehavefoundtheMessias,whichis,being interpreted,theChrist

42AndhebroughthimtoJesus.AndwhenJesusbeheld him,hesaid,ThouartSimonthesonofJona:thoushaltbe calledCephas,whichisbyinterpretation,Astone 43ThedayfollowingJesuswouldgoforthintoGalilee, andfindethPhilip,andsaithuntohim,Followme 44NowPhilipwasofBethsaida,thecityofAndrewand Peter.

45PhilipfindethNathanael,andsaithuntohim,Wehave foundhim,ofwhomMosesinthelaw,andtheprophets, didwrite,JesusofNazareth,thesonofJoseph.

46AndNathanaelsaiduntohim,Canthereanygoodthing comeoutofNazareth?Philipsaithuntohim,Comeandsee 47JesussawNathanaelcomingtohim,andsaithofhim, BeholdanIsraeliteindeed,inwhomisnoguile!

48Nathanaelsaithuntohim,Whenceknowestthoume? Jesusansweredandsaiduntohim,BeforethatPhilipcalled thee,whenthouwastunderthefigtree,Isawthee 49Nathanaelansweredandsaithuntohim,Rabbi,thouart theSonofGod;thouarttheKingofIsrael.

50Jesusansweredandsaiduntohim,BecauseIsaidunto thee,Isawtheeunderthefigtree,believestthou?thou shaltseegreaterthingsthanthese.

51Andhesaithuntohim,Verily,verily,Isayuntoyou, Hereafteryeshallseeheavenopen,andtheangelsofGod ascendinganddescendingupontheSonofman.

1AndthethirddaytherewasamarriageinCanaofGalilee; andthemotherofJesuswasthere:

2AndbothJesuswascalled,andhisdisciples,tothe marriage

3Andwhentheywantedwine,themotherofJesussaith untohim,Theyhavenowine.

4Jesussaithuntoher,Woman,whathaveItodowiththee? minehourisnotyetcome

5Hismothersaithuntotheservants,Whatsoeverhesaith untoyou,doit

6Andthereweresettheresixwaterpotsofstone,afterthe mannerofthepurifyingoftheJews,containingtwoor threefirkinsapiece

7Jesussaithuntothem,Fillthewaterpotswithwater.And theyfilledthemuptothebrim

8Andhesaithuntothem,Drawoutnow,andbearuntothe governorofthefeast.Andtheybareit.

9Whentherulerofthefeasthadtastedthewaterthatwas madewine,andknewnotwhenceitwas:(buttheservants whichdrewthewaterknew;)thegovernorofthefeast calledthebridegroom,

10Andsaithuntohim,Everymanatthebeginningdothset forthgoodwine;andwhenmenhavewelldrunk,thenthat whichisworse:butthouhastkeptthegoodwineuntilnow

11ThisbeginningofmiraclesdidJesusinCanaofGalilee, andmanifestedforthhisglory;andhisdisciplesbelieved onhim

12AfterthishewentdowntoCapernaum,he,andhis mother,andhisbrethren,andhisdisciples:andthey continuedtherenotmanydays

13AndtheJews'passoverwasathand,andJesuswentup toJerusalem,

14Andfoundinthetemplethosethatsoldoxenandsheep anddoves,andthechangersofmoneysitting:

15Andwhenhehadmadeascourgeofsmallcords,he drovethemalloutofthetemple,andthesheep,andthe oxen;andpouredoutthechangers'money,andoverthrew thetables;

16Andsaiduntothemthatsolddoves,Takethesethings hence;makenotmyFather'shouseanhouseof merchandise.

17Andhisdisciplesrememberedthatitwaswritten,The zealofthinehousehatheatenmeup

18ThenansweredtheJewsandsaiduntohim,Whatsign shewestthouuntous,seeingthatthoudoestthesethings?

19Jesusansweredandsaiduntothem,Destroythistemple, andinthreedaysIwillraiseitup

20ThensaidtheJews,Fortyandsixyearswasthistemple inbuilding,andwiltthourearitupinthreedays?

21Buthespakeofthetempleofhisbody.

22Whenthereforehewasrisenfromthedead,hisdisciples rememberedthathehadsaidthisuntothem;andthey believedthescripture,andthewordwhichJesushadsaid

23NowwhenhewasinJerusalematthepassover,inthe feastday,manybelievedinhisname,whentheysawthe miracleswhichhedid

24ButJesusdidnotcommithimselfuntothem,becausehe knewallmen,

25Andneedednotthatanyshouldtestifyofman:forhe knewwhatwasinman

CHAPTER3

1TherewasamanofthePharisees,namedNicodemus,a ruleroftheJews:

2ThesamecametoJesusbynight,andsaiduntohim, Rabbi,weknowthatthouartateachercomefromGod:for nomancandothesemiraclesthatthoudoest,exceptGod bewithhim.

3Jesusansweredandsaiduntohim,Verily,verily,Isay untothee,Exceptamanbebornagain,hecannotseethe kingdomofGod

4Nicodemussaithuntohim,Howcanamanbebornwhen heisold?canheenterthesecondtimeintohismother's womb,andbeborn?

5Jesusanswered,Verily,verily,Isayuntothee,Excepta manbebornofwaterandoftheSpirit,hecannotenterinto thekingdomofGod

6Thatwhichisbornofthefleshisflesh;andthatwhichis bornoftheSpiritisspirit.

7MarvelnotthatIsaiduntothee,Yemustbebornagain

8Thewindblowethwhereitlisteth,andthouhearestthe soundthereof,butcanstnottellwhenceitcometh,and whitheritgoeth:soiseveryonethatisbornoftheSpirit

9Nicodemusansweredandsaiduntohim,Howcanthese thingsbe?

10Jesusansweredandsaiduntohim,Artthouamasterof Israel,andknowestnotthesethings?

11Verily,verily,Isayuntothee,Wespeakthatwedo know,andtestifythatwehaveseen;andyereceivenotour witness

12IfIhavetoldyouearthlythings,andyebelievenot, howshallyebelieve,ifItellyouofheavenlythings?

13Andnomanhathascendeduptoheaven,buthethat camedownfromheaven,eventheSonofmanwhichisin heaven

14AndasMoseslifteduptheserpentinthewilderness, evensomusttheSonofmanbeliftedup:

15Thatwhosoeverbelievethinhimshouldnotperish,but haveeternallife

16ForGodsolovedtheworld,thathegavehisonly begottenSon,thatwhosoeverbelievethinhimshouldnot perish,buthaveeverlastinglife

17ForGodsentnothisSonintotheworldtocondemnthe world;butthattheworldthroughhimmightbesaved 18Hethatbelievethonhimisnotcondemned:buthethat believethnotiscondemnedalready,becausehehathnot believedinthenameoftheonlybegottenSonofGod

19Andthisisthecondemnation,thatlightiscomeintothe world,andmenloveddarknessratherthanlight,because theirdeedswereevil

20Foreveryonethatdoethevilhateththelight,neither comethtothelight,lesthisdeedsshouldbereproved.

21Buthethatdoethtruthcomethtothelight,thathis deedsmaybemademanifest,thattheyarewroughtinGod

22AfterthesethingscameJesusandhisdisciplesintothe landofJudaea;andtherehetarriedwiththem,and baptized.

23AndJohnalsowasbaptizinginAenonneartoSalim, becausetherewasmuchwaterthere:andtheycame,and werebaptized.

24ForJohnwasnotyetcastintoprison

25ThentherearoseaquestionbetweensomeofJohn's disciplesandtheJewsaboutpurifying.

26AndtheycameuntoJohn,andsaiduntohim,Rabbi,he thatwaswiththeebeyondJordan,towhomthoubarest witness,behold,thesamebaptizeth,andallmencometo him

27Johnansweredandsaid,Amancanreceivenothing, exceptitbegivenhimfromheaven.

28Yeyourselvesbearmewitness,thatIsaid,Iamnotthe Christ,butthatIamsentbeforehim

29Hethathaththebrideisthebridegroom:butthefriend ofthebridegroom,whichstandethandhearethhim, rejoicethgreatlybecauseofthebridegroom'svoice:thismy joythereforeisfulfilled

30Hemustincrease,butImustdecrease

31Hethatcomethfromaboveisaboveall:hethatisofthe earthisearthly,andspeakethoftheearth:hethatcometh fromheavenisaboveall

32Andwhathehathseenandheard,thathetestifieth;and nomanreceivethhistestimony

33Hethathathreceivedhistestimonyhathsettohisseal thatGodistrue.

34ForhewhomGodhathsentspeakeththewordsofGod: forGodgivethnottheSpiritbymeasureuntohim

35TheFatherloveththeSon,andhathgivenallthingsinto hishand

36HethatbelievethontheSonhatheverlastinglife:and hethatbelievethnottheSonshallnotseelife;butthe wrathofGodabidethonhim

CHAPTER4

1WhenthereforetheLordknewhowthePhariseeshad heardthatJesusmadeandbaptizedmoredisciplesthan John,

2(ThoughJesushimselfbaptizednot,buthisdisciples,)

3HeleftJudaea,anddepartedagainintoGalilee.

4AndhemustneedsgothroughSamaria

5ThencomethhetoacityofSamaria,whichiscalled Sychar,neartotheparcelofgroundthatJacobgavetohis sonJoseph

6NowJacob'swellwasthereJesustherefore,being weariedwithhisjourney,satthusonthewell:anditwas aboutthesixthhour

7TherecomethawomanofSamariatodrawwater:Jesus saithuntoher,Givemetodrink.

8(Forhisdisciplesweregoneawayuntothecitytobuy meat.)

9ThensaiththewomanofSamariauntohim,Howisit thatthou,beingaJew,askestdrinkofme,whichama womanofSamaria?fortheJewshavenodealingswiththe Samaritans.

10Jesusansweredandsaiduntoher,Ifthouknewestthe giftofGod,andwhoitisthatsaithtothee,Givemeto drink;thouwouldesthaveaskedofhim,andhewouldhave giventheelivingwater

11Thewomansaithuntohim,Sir,thouhastnothingto drawwith,andthewellisdeep:fromwhencethenhast thouthatlivingwater?

12ArtthougreaterthanourfatherJacob,whichgaveus thewell,anddrankthereofhimself,andhischildren,and hiscattle?

13Jesusansweredandsaiduntoher,Whosoeverdrinketh ofthiswatershallthirstagain:

14ButwhosoeverdrinkethofthewaterthatIshallgive himshallneverthirst;butthewaterthatIshallgivehim shallbeinhimawellofwaterspringingupintoeverlasting life

15Thewomansaithuntohim,Sir,givemethiswater,that Ithirstnot,neithercomehithertodraw.

16Jesussaithuntoher,Go,callthyhusband,andcome hither

17Thewomanansweredandsaid,Ihavenohusband Jesussaiduntoher,Thouhastwellsaid,Ihavenohusband: 18Forthouhasthadfivehusbands;andhewhomthou nowhastisnotthyhusband:inthatsaidstthoutruly

19Thewomansaithuntohim,Sir,Iperceivethatthouarta prophet.

20Ourfathersworshippedinthismountain;andyesay, thatinJerusalemistheplacewheremenoughttoworship 21Jesussaithuntoher,Woman,believeme,thehour cometh,whenyeshallneitherinthismountain,noryetat Jerusalem,worshiptheFather

22Yeworshipyeknownotwhat:weknowwhatwe worship:forsalvationisoftheJews

23Butthehourcometh,andnowis,whenthetrue worshippersshallworshiptheFatherinspiritandintruth: fortheFatherseekethsuchtoworshiphim

24GodisaSpirit:andtheythatworshiphimmustworship himinspiritandintruth.

25Thewomansaithuntohim,IknowthatMessiascometh, whichiscalledChrist:whenheiscome,hewilltellusall things.

26Jesussaithuntoher,Ithatspeakuntotheeamhe 27Anduponthiscamehisdisciples,andmarvelledthathe talkedwiththewoman:yetnomansaid,Whatseekestthou? or,Whytalkestthouwithher?

28Thewomanthenleftherwaterpot,andwentherway intothecity,andsaithtothemen, 29Come,seeaman,whichtoldmeallthingsthateverI did:isnotthistheChrist?

30Thentheywentoutofthecity,andcameuntohim. 31Inthemeanwhilehisdisciplesprayedhim,saying, Master,eat

32Buthesaiduntothem,Ihavemeattoeatthatyeknow notof

33Thereforesaidthedisciplesonetoanother,Hathany manbroughthimoughttoeat?

34Jesussaithuntothem,Mymeatistodothewillofhim thatsentme,andtofinishhiswork.

35Saynotye,Thereareyetfourmonths,andthencometh harvest?behold,Isayuntoyou,Liftupyoureyes,andlook onthefields;fortheyarewhitealreadytoharvest

36Andhethatreapethreceivethwages,andgatherethfruit untolifeeternal:thatbothhethatsowethandhethat reapethmayrejoicetogether

37Andhereinisthatsayingtrue,Onesoweth,andanother reapeth

38Isentyoutoreapthatwhereonyebestowednolabour: othermenlaboured,andyeareenteredintotheirlabours

39AndmanyoftheSamaritansofthatcitybelievedon himforthesayingofthewoman,whichtestified,Hetold meallthateverIdid

40SowhentheSamaritanswerecomeuntohim,they besoughthimthathewouldtarrywiththem:andheabode theretwodays

41Andmanymorebelievedbecauseofhisownword;

42Andsaiduntothewoman,Nowwebelieve,notbecause ofthysaying:forwehaveheardhimourselves,andknow thatthisisindeedtheChrist,theSaviouroftheworld

43Nowaftertwodayshedepartedthence,andwentinto Galilee

44ForJesushimselftestified,thataprophethathno honourinhisowncountry

45ThenwhenhewascomeintoGalilee,theGalilaeans receivedhim,havingseenallthethingsthathedidat Jerusalematthefeast:fortheyalsowentuntothefeast

46SoJesuscameagainintoCanaofGalilee,wherehe madethewaterwine.Andtherewasacertainnobleman, whosesonwassickatCapernaum

47WhenheheardthatJesuswascomeoutofJudaeainto Galilee,hewentuntohim,andbesoughthimthathewould comedown,andhealhisson:forhewasatthepointof death

48ThensaidJesusuntohim,Exceptyeseesignsand wonders,yewillnotbelieve

49Thenoblemansaithuntohim,Sir,comedowneremy childdie.

50Jesussaithuntohim,Gothyway;thysonlivethAnd themanbelievedthewordthatJesushadspokenuntohim, andhewenthisway.

51Andashewasnowgoingdown,hisservantsmethim, andtoldhim,saying,Thysonliveth

52Thenenquiredheofthemthehourwhenhebeganto amendAndtheysaiduntohim,Yesterdayattheseventh hourthefeverlefthim

53Sothefatherknewthatitwasatthesamehour,inthe whichJesussaiduntohim,Thysonliveth:andhimself believed,andhiswholehouse

54ThisisagainthesecondmiraclethatJesusdid,whenhe wascomeoutofJudaeaintoGalilee

CHAPTER5

1AfterthistherewasafeastoftheJews;andJesuswent uptoJerusalem.

2NowthereisatJerusalembythesheepmarketapool, whichiscalledintheHebrewtongueBethesda,havingfive porches.

3Intheselayagreatmultitudeofimpotentfolk,ofblind, halt,withered,waitingforthemovingofthewater.

4Foranangelwentdownatacertainseasonintothepool, andtroubledthewater:whosoeverthenfirstafterthe troublingofthewatersteppedinwasmadewholeof whatsoeverdiseasehehad.

5Andacertainmanwasthere,whichhadaninfirmity thirtyandeightyears

6WhenJesussawhimlie,andknewthathehadbeennow alongtimeinthatcase,hesaithuntohim,Wiltthoube madewhole?

7Theimpotentmanansweredhim,Sir,Ihavenoman, whenthewateristroubled,toputmeintothepool:but whileIamcoming,anothersteppethdownbeforeme.

8Jesussaithuntohim,Rise,takeupthybed,andwalk

9Andimmediatelythemanwasmadewhole,andtookup hisbed,andwalked:andonthesamedaywasthesabbath.

10TheJewsthereforesaiduntohimthatwascured,Itis thesabbathday:itisnotlawfulfortheetocarrythybed.

11Heansweredthem,Hethatmademewhole,thesame saiduntome,Takeupthybed,andwalk

12Thenaskedtheyhim,Whatmanisthatwhichsaidunto thee,Takeupthybed,andwalk?

13Andhethatwashealedwistnotwhoitwas:forJesus hadconveyedhimselfaway,amultitudebeinginthatplace 14AfterwardJesusfindethhiminthetemple,andsaid untohim,Behold,thouartmadewhole:sinnomore,lesta worsethingcomeuntothee.

15Themandeparted,andtoldtheJewsthatitwasJesus, whichhadmadehimwhole

16AndthereforedidtheJewspersecuteJesus,andsought toslayhim,becausehehaddonethesethingsonthe sabbathday

17ButJesusansweredthem,MyFatherworkethhitherto, andIwork

18ThereforetheJewssoughtthemoretokillhim,because henotonlyhadbrokenthesabbath,butsaidalsothatGod washisFather,makinghimselfequalwithGod

19ThenansweredJesusandsaiduntothem,Verily,verily, Isayuntoyou,TheSoncandonothingofhimself,but whatheseeththeFatherdo:forwhatthingssoeverhe doeth,thesealsodoeththeSonlikewise

20FortheFatherloveththeSon,andshewethhimall thingsthathimselfdoeth:andhewillshewhimgreater worksthanthese,thatyemaymarvel

21ForastheFatherraisethupthedead,andquickeneth them;evensotheSonquickenethwhomhewill

22FortheFatherjudgethnoman,buthathcommittedall judgmentuntotheSon:

23ThatallmenshouldhonourtheSon,evenasthey honourtheFatherHethathonourethnottheSon honourethnottheFatherwhichhathsenthim.

24Verily,verily,Isayuntoyou,Hethathearethmyword, andbelievethonhimthatsentme,hatheverlastinglife,and shallnotcomeintocondemnation;butispassedfromdeath untolife

25Verily,verily,Isayuntoyou,Thehouriscoming,and nowis,whenthedeadshallhearthevoiceoftheSonof God:andtheythathearshalllive

26ForastheFatherhathlifeinhimself;sohathhegiven totheSontohavelifeinhimself;

27Andhathgivenhimauthoritytoexecutejudgmentalso, becauseheistheSonofman.

28Marvelnotatthis:forthehouriscoming,inthewhich allthatareinthegravesshallhearhisvoice,

29Andshallcomeforth;theythathavedonegood,unto theresurrectionoflife;andtheythathavedoneevil,unto theresurrectionofdamnation

30Icanofmineownselfdonothing:asIhear,Ijudge: andmyjudgmentisjust;becauseIseeknotmineownwill, butthewilloftheFatherwhichhathsentme

31IfIbearwitnessofmyself,mywitnessisnottrue.

32Thereisanotherthatbearethwitnessofme;andIknow thatthewitnesswhichhewitnessethofmeistrue

33YesentuntoJohn,andhebarewitnessuntothetruth.

34ButIreceivenottestimonyfromman:butthesethingsI say,thatyemightbesaved

35Hewasaburningandashininglight:andyewere willingforaseasontorejoiceinhislight.

36ButIhavegreaterwitnessthanthatofJohn:forthe workswhichtheFatherhathgivenmetofinish,thesame worksthatIdo,bearwitnessofme,thattheFatherhath sentme

37AndtheFatherhimself,whichhathsentme,hathborne witnessofme.Yehaveneitherheardhisvoiceatanytime, norseenhisshape

38Andyehavenothiswordabidinginyou:forwhomhe hathsent,himyebelievenot

39Searchthescriptures;forinthemyethinkyehave eternallife:andtheyaretheywhichtestifyofme.

40Andyewillnotcometome,thatyemighthavelife

41Ireceivenothonourfrommen

42ButIknowyou,thatyehavenottheloveofGodinyou.

43IamcomeinmyFather'sname,andyereceivemenot: ifanothershallcomeinhisownname,himyewillreceive

44Howcanyebelieve,whichreceivehonouroneof another,andseeknotthehonourthatcomethfromGod only?

45DonotthinkthatIwillaccuseyoutotheFather:thereis onethataccusethyou,evenMoses,inwhomyetrust

46ForhadyebelievedMoses,yewouldhavebelievedme: forhewroteofme.

47Butifyebelievenothiswritings,howshallyebelieve mywords?

CHAPTER6

1AfterthesethingsJesuswentovertheseaofGalilee, whichistheseaofTiberias

2Andagreatmultitudefollowedhim,becausetheysaw hismiracleswhichhedidonthemthatwerediseased.

3AndJesuswentupintoamountain,andtherehesatwith hisdisciples

3ThentookMaryapoundofointmentofspikenard,very costly,andanointedthefeetofJesus,andwipedhisfeet withherhair:andthehousewasfilledwiththeodourof theointment

assembledforfearoftheJews,cameJesusandstoodinthe midst,andsaithuntothem,Peacebeuntoyou.

20Andwhenhehadsosaid,hesheweduntothemhis handsandhisside.Thenwerethedisciplesglad,whenthey sawtheLord.

21ThensaidJesustothemagain,Peacebeuntoyou:as myFatherhathsentme,evensosendIyou

22Andwhenhehadsaidthis,hebreathedonthem,and saithuntothem,ReceiveyetheHolyGhost:

23Whosesoeversinsyeremit,theyareremitteduntothem; andwhosesoeversinsyeretain,theyareretained

24ButThomas,oneofthetwelve,calledDidymus,was notwiththemwhenJesuscame.

25Theotherdisciplesthereforesaiduntohim,Wehave seentheLordButhesaiduntothem,ExceptIshallseein hishandstheprintofthenails,andputmyfingerintothe printofthenails,andthrustmyhandintohisside,Iwill notbelieve

26Andaftereightdaysagainhisdiscipleswerewithin, andThomaswiththem:thencameJesus,thedoorsbeing shut,andstoodinthemidst,andsaid,Peacebeuntoyou

27ThensaithhetoThomas,Reachhitherthyfinger,and beholdmyhands;andreachhitherthyhand,andthrustit intomyside:andbenotfaithless,butbelieving

28AndThomasansweredandsaiduntohim,MyLordand myGod

29Jesussaithuntohim,Thomas,becausethouhastseen me,thouhastbelieved:blessedaretheythathavenotseen, andyethavebelieved

30AndmanyothersignstrulydidJesusinthepresenceof hisdisciples,whicharenotwritteninthisbook:

31Butthesearewritten,thatyemightbelievethatJesusis theChrist,theSonofGod;andthatbelievingyemight havelifethroughhisname.

CHAPTER21

1AfterthesethingsJesusshewedhimselfagaintothe disciplesattheseaofTiberias;andonthiswiseshewedhe himself.

2ThereweretogetherSimonPeter,andThomascalled Didymus,andNathanaelofCanainGalilee,andthesons ofZebedee,andtwootherofhisdisciples.

3SimonPetersaithuntothem,IgoafishingTheysay untohim,WealsogowiththeeTheywentforth,and enteredintoashipimmediately;andthatnighttheycaught nothing

4Butwhenthemorningwasnowcome,Jesusstoodonthe shore:butthedisciplesknewnotthatitwasJesus

5ThenJesussaithuntothem,Children,haveyeanymeat? Theyansweredhim,No

6Andhesaiduntothem,Castthenetontherightsideof theship,andyeshallfindTheycasttherefore,andnow theywerenotabletodrawitforthemultitudeoffishes

7ThereforethatdisciplewhomJesuslovedsaithuntoPeter, ItistheLordNowwhenSimonPeterheardthatitwasthe Lord,hegirthisfisher'scoatuntohim,(forhewasnaked,) anddidcasthimselfintothesea

8Andtheotherdisciplescameinalittleship;(forthey werenotfarfromland,butasitweretwohundredcubits,) draggingthenetwithfishes

9Assoonthenastheywerecometoland,theysawafire ofcoalsthere,andfishlaidthereon,andbread. 10Jesussaithuntothem,Bringofthefishwhichyehave nowcaught.

11SimonPeterwentup,anddrewthenettolandfullof greatfishes,anhundredandfiftyandthree:andforall thereweresomany,yetwasnotthenetbroken

12Jesussaithuntothem,Comeanddine.Andnoneofthe disciplesdurstaskhim,Whoartthou?knowingthatitwas theLord

13Jesusthencometh,andtakethbread,andgiveththem, andfishlikewise

14ThisisnowthethirdtimethatJesusshewedhimselfto hisdisciples,afterthathewasrisenfromthedead

15Sowhentheyhaddined,JesussaithtoSimonPeter, Simon,sonofJonas,lovestthoumemorethanthese?He saithuntohim,Yea,Lord;thouknowestthatIlovethee Hesaithuntohim,Feedmylambs

16Hesaithtohimagainthesecondtime,Simon,sonof Jonas,lovestthoume?Hesaithuntohim,Yea,Lord;thou knowestthatIlovetheeHesaithuntohim,Feedmysheep 17Hesaithuntohimthethirdtime,Simon,sonofJonas, lovestthoume?Peterwasgrievedbecausehesaidunto himthethirdtime,Lovestthoume?Andhesaiduntohim, Lord,thouknowestallthings;thouknowestthatIlovethee. 19Thisspakehe,signifyingbywhatdeathheshould glorifyGodAndwhenhehadspokenthis,hesaithunto him,Followme.

20ThenPeter,turningabout,seeththedisciplewhom Jesuslovedfollowing;whichalsoleanedonhisbreastat supper,andsaid,Lord,whichishethatbetrayeththee? 21PeterseeinghimsaithtoJesus,Lord,andwhatshallthis mando?

22Jesussaithuntohim,IfIwillthathetarrytillIcome, whatisthattothee?followthoume

23Thenwentthissayingabroadamongthebrethren,that thatdiscipleshouldnotdie:yetJesussaidnotuntohim,He shallnotdie;but,IfIwillthathetarrytillIcome,whatis thattothee?

24Thisisthedisciplewhichtestifiethofthesethings,and wrotethesethings:andweknowthathistestimonyistrue 25AndtherearealsomanyotherthingswhichJesusdid, thewhich,iftheyshouldbewritteneveryone,Isuppose thateventheworlditselfcouldnotcontainthebooksthat shouldbewrittenAmen
