For me, architecture is an Ark of Chaos, shaped by time and collective memory into moments of positive chaos.
Yet, in today’s crowded cities, we often perceive time only through negative spaces—voids in both the urban landscape and our emotions.
This is our era’s Oedipus complex: humanity, once the creator of architecture, has become its product.
CONFESSION
Whisper of the City Blues
Confession is the act of interpreting the layered signals embedded in events, each carrying multiple identities within the realm of architecture. It is a process of uncovering hidden narratives, revealing the unspoken stories behind spaces, structures, and urban forms. Through this act, architecture becomes more than just a physical construct; it transforms into a medium for dialogue and reflection. Confession offers a path to embrace the seemingly unacceptable, to confront societal silences, and to give voice to thoughts and emotions that have long remained unspoken in our city and generation.

Color is our first perception of the world, the spirit of a place, the painter's emotion, and a hazy piece of memory.
Puzzle / People live their lives for me Whether lights dim early or late, or their brightness shifts, these changes mark the passage of time for me.
Reflaction /
Does the self in each moment carry the same perceptions? Or, if it's different, am I telling myself a new story each time?
Rule /
My body grasps the symbols and meanings of things in this world one step earlier than my mind.
Doopler Effect /
As time rushes on and we encounter new experiences, we eventually turn back and see someone else where we once stood—a version of ourselves.

Through life’s details, we uncover fragments of another self across time and space, revealing the true nature behind events.
Confession means using multiple identities to interpret an event's signals. Through it, people come to accept what was once unaccepted or finally speak what remained unspoken.

Memory is the process of acquiring, storing, retaining, and retrieving information through four key stages: encoding, consolidation, storage, and retrieval. As time passes, memories may fade, becoming like a soft, beautiful painting—where even colors aid in preserving certain moments. Architecture is a collection of times. Blue

STOCK THE MEMORY /
As children, the church feels like our secret base.
Amid its surroundings, four "churches of memory" rise, each uniquely revealing how time weaves the story of life. As seasons change and years pass, a child becomes a mother, and a teenager grows into the person they once dreamed to be, embodying the quiet power of time's transformation.

Emotion Rehabilitation Below the Sea
If we see one element around us and city as a reflection of ourselves, the world’s changes take on a new rhythm.
Emotion Architecture offers people a chance to witness nature’s transformations over time and reflect on their own attachments and troubled loves.

In 2020, we all endured chaotic days.
Few would feel sad to see the year end, yet it may prove one of the most defining in our lives, with lasting impacts still unfolding. Despite the shared challenges, each of us faced unique losses.
So, I dream of creating a "Quarantune Hotel"—a place for healing and renewal for all who lived through that unforgettable year.

Duplication of the End
Back to The River
The dikes, initially marking an "end" to Taipei's connection with the Tamsui River, are reimagined and duplicated in the design. By integrating the spatial patterns of Dihua Street’s traditional townhouses into riverfront, the "end" transforms into a multi-tiered, porous structure bridging history, art, and urban life. This duplication revitalizes the boundary, turning it into a dynamic space where past and present converge, extending stories of the city rather than concluding it.

At the end of Dadaocheng’s historic district lies the entrance to the Tamsui Riverbank Scenic Park. Visitors can enter through the existing floodgate or take the art platform from the newly designed street houses to the riverbank. A red pathway marks the cultural and artistic route, extending from the historic old town to the riverfront. This design seamlessly weaves history and culture into green spaces and recreational areas, creating a unique riverside layout reminiscent of the townhouses' intricate structures. The interwoven pathways form a multi-level space, giving the staircase versatile functions: a scenic stage, a sunset-viewing platform, and a café with a view.
A cultural maze by the riverbank transports visitors to the past. Beyond the towering embankment, the lively art plaza draws people to a riverside platform, where a bridge extends to the bank, framing a vivid tableau of history and movement. People ascend the green slope, effortlessly merging into the building’s interior. Through its frames, they glimpse the riverbank and urban landscapes, where the past and present converge in harmony.

Duplication of the End
By incorporating micro-scale urban spaces and diverse programs, the riverside becomes a vibrant, interconnected tapestry where heritage and modernity coexist. This duplication represents a renewal of boundaries, where the riverbank’s traditional “end” is redefined through diverse activities and experiences. It encourages interaction and community engagement, fostering a new relationship between history and contemporary living. This dynamic transformation unlocks sustainable growth and enriches citizens' lives, making the riverside a hub of connection and inspiration.

The Renovation of Fort 32 reimagines its original function as a rest room for soldiers into a hotel. The design opens up the existing roof and walls, creating a skeletal historical framework with a rough, textured finish. A newly added bowl-shaped roof offers a modern reinterpretation of the bunker’s image, concealed scale of the wartime environment. The interplay between new and old structures creates a dynamic contrast of solidity and openness.
The Time Hotel
The regeneration plan for Fort 32 reimagines its original function as a rest room for soldiers into a hotel. The design opens up the existing roof and walls, creating a skeletal historical framework with a rough, textured finish.
A newly added bowl-shaped roof offers a modern reinterpretation of the bunker’s image, while two curved concrete forms beneath it retain the low, concealed scale of the wartime environment. The interplay between new and old structures creates a dynamic contrast of solidity and openness.
A tubular staircase leads to an open rooftop with a circular terrace, offering panoramic views of Kunqiu Beach, Snake Island, and the surrounding fortifications. From there, a sky bridge connects to ancient bunkers and the entrance to underground tunnels. The contrasting movement between the circular, above-ground pathways and the linear underground tunnels provides a vivid journey through time, immersing visitors in the rich textures of the wartime landscape.

This restroom renovation project highlights its unique structural design, where columns are arranged in a concentric circular pattern, yet the façade appears square and conventional. To showcase this distinct feature, we integrated the floor plan with the column layout, creating the Lion Restroom design. Petal-shaped exterior walls emphasize the structure, while modular restroom units bring order to the layout. The red brick façade, chosen for its durability, pattern versatility, and accessibility, enhances hygiene and sustainability.
