POWYS
YR HYDREF 14 Neges gan gyfarwddwr Flicks in the Sticks – Ian Kerry
@FlicksinSticks
Flicks in the Sticks Am nifer o flynyddoedd mae pobl dda ganolbarth Powys wedi gofyn a allwn ni gynnal taith i’r ardal, ond, er gwaethaf un neu ddau gais i wneud hyn, doeddwn ni byth yn cael y gefnogaeth ariannol angenrheidiol i wneud hynny. Fodd bynnag, diolch i arian o’r BFI Neighbourhood Fund a chronfa Arian i Bawb yng Nghymru, rydym nawr yn gallu gweithio gyda 13 o leoliadau i sgrinio 80 o ffilmiau tan fis Mawrth 2015. Pam fod angen nawdd cyhoeddus? Ar wahân i gostau cludo'r offer, a thalu technegydd, yn ogystal â'r weinyddiaeth a rheoli'r cyfan, ydych chi'n sylweddoli bod yn rhaid i ni dalu £80–£100 i ddosbarthwr ffilmiau bob tro y byddwn yn sgrinio ffilm? Allwn ni ddim prynu'r DVD yn unig ac yna sgrinio’r ffilm, felly mae angen arian cyhoeddus ac er mwyn i'r dangosiadau barhau, mae angen i gynulleidfaoedd i droi i fyny! Rydym wedi llunio llyfryn hwn o ddigwyddiadau sy'n nodi dangosiadau yng nghanolbarth Powys o fis Medi hyd at ddiwedd mis Rhagfyr. Rydym yn gobeithio'n fawr y byddwch yn cefnogi eich canolfan leol lle bydd croeso cyfeillgar, prisiau tocynnau rhesymol, dim ffioedd parcio a phaned go lew o de, neu hyd yn oed gwydraid o win! Rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn i'r hyrwyddwyr yn y lleoliadau, maen nhw a'u timau i gyd yn wirfoddolwyr ac maent yn dewis y ffilmiau, y dyddiadau, trefnu dosbarthiad cyhoeddusrwydd a'r lleoliad. Hebddyn nhw ni allem redeg y gwasanaeth hwn. Gyda dymuniadau gorau, Y Tîm Flicks t: 01588 620883 e: ian@artsalive.co.uk w: www.artsalive.co.uk Blue Barn Green Lane Churchstoke SY15 6EN
Oherwydd amgylchiadau y tu allan i'n rheolaeth, gall teitlau ffilm weithiau yn newid ar y funud olaf – os gwelwch yn dda gwiriwch gyda'r lleoliad cyn teithio.
A message from Flicks in the Sticks Director – Ian Kerry For many years the good people of mid-Powys have been asking Flicks if we can tour to the area, but despite a couple of attempts by us we never really received the financial support needed to do so. However, thanks to funding from the BFI Neighbourhood Fund and the Awards for All fund in Wales, we are now able to work with 13 venues to screen 80 films until March 2015. Why do we need public funding? Apart from the costs of touring the equipment and paying a technician, as well as the admin and management of it all, do you realise that each time we screen a film we have to pay £80–£100 to the film distributor? We can’t just buy a DVD and screen the film, so we need public funding and in order for the screenings to continue, we need audiences to turn up! We have put together this brochure of events which contains screenings in mid-Powys from September through to the end of December. We really hope that you will pop along to support your local venue where there should be a friendly welcome, reasonable ticket prices, no parking fees and a decent cup of tea, or even a glass of wine! We are very grateful to the promoters in the venues, they and their teams are all volunteers and they choose the films, the dates, organise the publicity distribution and the venue. Without them we couldn’t run this service. With very best wishes, The Flicks Team t: 01588 620883 e: ian@artsalive.co.uk w: www.artsalive.co.uk Blue Barn, Green Lane Churchstoke SY15 6EN
Due to circumstances beyond our control, film titles can sometimes change at the last minute – please check with the venue before travelling.

Belle Director: Amma Asante. British Drama 104 mins, Cert 12a Emily Watson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Matthew Goode, Miranda Richardson, Penelope Wilton Bydd Belle yn cael ei hysbrydoli gan stori wir Dido Elizabeth Belle, merch anghyfreithlon hil gymysg llyngesydd o'r Llynges Frenhinol. Trwy gael ei magu gan ei hen-ewythr yr Arglwydd Mansfield a'i wraig bydd llinach Belle yn dod 창 nifer o freintiau iddi. Serch hynny bydd lliw ei chroen yn rhwystro rhag ymuno yn nhraddodiadau ei safle cymdeithasol. Wrth iddi boeni a fydd hi byth yn darganfod serch, bydd Belle yn syrthio mewn cariad 창 mab penderfynol ficer sydd yn chwilio am newid ac a fydd gyda'i help, yn llunio rhan yr Arglwydd Mansfield fel Arglwydd Brif Ustus i ddod 창 chaethwasiaeth i ben yn Lloegr. Belle is inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, the illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral. Raised by her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield and his wife, Belle's lineage affords her certain privileges, yet the colour of her skin prevents her from fully participating in the traditions of her social standing. Left to wonder if she will ever find love, Belle falls for an idealistic young vicar's son bent on change who, with her help, shapes Lord Mansfield's role as Lord Chief Justice to end slavery in England.

Jersey Boys Director: Clint Eastwood Biography/Drama/Musical 134 mins, Cert 15 John Lloyd Young, Erich Bergen, Michael Lomenda, Vincent Piazza, Christopher Walken Mae Jersey Boys yn gofiant cerddorol y Four Seasons – y datblygiad, y cyfnodau caled, y dadleuon personol, ac yn y pen draw llwyddiant grŵp o ffrindiau wnaeth greu cerddoriaeth a ddaeth yn symbolaidd o genhedlaeth. Er iddi gynnwys caneuon o gorff poblogaidd caneuon y Four Seasons mae yma fwy na chyngerdd deyrnged yn unig, Bydd Jersey Boys yn mynd i wraidd y perthnasau sydd wrth galon y grŵp – gyda ffocws arbennig ar yr arweinydd Frankie Valli, yr hogyn bach gyda'r llais falsetto mawr. Mae Jersey Boys yn gipolwg ar y bobl sydd y tu ôl i gerddoriaeth sydd wedi goroesi am fwy na phedwar degawd yn ein meddyliau. Jersey Boys is a musical biography of the Four Seasons – the rise, the tough times and personal clashes, and the ultimate triumph of a group of friends whose music became symbolic of a generation. Far from a mere tribute concert (though it does include numbers from the popular Four Seasons songbook), Jersey Boys gets to the heart of the relationships at the centre of the group – with a special focus on frontman Frankie Valli, the small kid with the big falsetto. Jersey Boys is a glimpse of the people behind a sound that has managed to endure for over four decades in the hearts of the public.
“Mae Flicks yn gwarchod diwylliant yn yr ardal anghysbell, wasgaredig hon. Mae hyn yn cael ei werthfawrogi’n fawr.” “Flicks is a cultural lifesaver in this otherwise remote and scattered area. Hugely appreciated.”

Computer-animated comedy based on the line of toys made by Lego. Emmet is helped by wise wizard Vitruvius, tough girl Wyldstyle and DC superhero Batman, but can he find something extraordinary within himself in order to save the world?
