HEREFORDSHIRE

September – December 2013

Dear Flicks Fan, We have great pleasure in presenting our Autumn 2013 season brochure; as usual it’s packed with a wide range of films, chosen by the communities we work with.

@FlicksinSticks Flicks in the Sticks

Flicks is a unique service – we are not a commercial organisation, and rely on public funding and donations to help us deliver our service. We work with local promoters who, on behalf of their community, help organise the screenings, undertake publicity distribution and organise the venue on the night. They are nearly all volunteers. Flicks is unlike other cinema providers. We organise films locally where home-made refreshments are reasonably priced, as are the costs of tickets to see the films. The films are often just a good excuse for the community to come together for a shared experience, food and wine, and a good natter. Although we feel positive about the future, we are mindful that local authorities and our main funders are likely to be making even more cuts over the next two years – some organisations may lose all their funding. So anything you can do to help keep the service running would be much appreciated – including coming along to see the films! If you would like more info about our work and how to help even more, then please visit www.artsalive.co.uk Ian Kerry / Terri Jones at Flicks in the Sticks
