Considering the international association of rights and freedoms as one of the human rights organizations in the world which thrives for maintaining human rights, defends the oppressed, and reveals the practices and violations committed by the regimes in our Arab region. On the occasion of the world Human Rights Day which falls on December 10 of every year, (IARF) values the positive moves done by some Arabic and Islamic countries which aim at reinforcing the guarantees of human rights respect such as the Bahrain initiative to establish the Arabic court of human rights; and the Moroccan approval of the extra protocol added to the convention against torture and other humiliating inhumane treatment. However, the international association expresses its deep concern regarding the vast violation of human rights which is still committed in the majority of countries in our Arab and Islamic World, and reveals the obvious contradiction between the official discourse and the real conditions of rights and freedoms. This indeed proves the nonfulfillment of the international commitments. For this year has witnessed an increase of abusive arrest, torture, compulsory disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and lack of independence of the judiciary. These practices have culminated in Egypt and Libya. In addition, the Ahwaz region has known more major human rights violation such as compulsory disappearances and abusive arrest by the Iranian authorities, executions, demolition of houses and confiscation of property, demolition of historical monuments and places of worship, systematical displacement of the natives, and obliteration of the original Arabic identity of Ahwaz citizens. Moreover, Tunisia has witnessed silencing of press freedom and nongovernmental organizations by shutting down many of them and legislating a new anti-terror law which increases restriction over freedom. In addition, many Arabic countries as Syria and Iraq have encountered miserable conditions in terms of arrest and extrajudicial killing and executions. Also, the Kuwaiti authorities have withdrawn the nationality and deprived the contrary views of their citizenship, beside repressing the acts which are considered within the right of opinion and expression as assembly and gathering. In addition, these authorities didn’t bother regulating the status of stateless persons who face discrimination, and are exposed to systematic violations which affect their basic rights, as well as depriving eligible citizens from having their Kuwaiti nationality and enjoying their civil, political economic and social rights.
