Kuwait was selected as “a center for humanitarian work” On 9 September 2014 and its Prince was awarded the title of “Commander of humanitarian work” by the United Nations. On this occasion, the International Association for Rights and Freedoms is congratulating the State of Kuwait and its prince on this deserved coronation. The Association appreciates the initiative of the United Nations to recognize the important role played by Kuwait under the leadership of its prince in the openness on the issues of human in the world and support for humanitarian work. This honor which the prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, had got was as an appreciation for his work and his contributions in the relief and humanitarian work and his continued support for humanitarian operations of the United Nations and conferences in Kuwait were held for donors. That is consistent with the foreign policy of the State of Kuwait which chose since its independence to contribute to the UN efforts to provide humanitarian aid for all needy countries with the activation of the human rights dimension in the subject. It is calculated for the State of Kuwait and its prince ,the participation and contribution in supporting humanitarian issues ,among them, the issue of the Syrian people who millions of its citizens are suffering from difficult conditions in the shelters and camps because of the tragic events, before that Kuwait hosted the Arab-African Summit, which focused on the developmental projects between the two sides and the protection of Categories that are socially vulnerable and provide decent living conditions for them without forgetting the holding of a donors’ conference in Kuwait in 2010 for the sake of the east of Sudan. The International Association for Rights and Freedoms is congratulating the prince of Kuwait on this merit which the State of Kuwait is deserved as well and blesses all his efforts to help the needy and catharsis for the distressed and these are issues which fall within the concept of human rights, asking from him to continue in this promising option with the consolidation of guarantees for the protection of human rights and ensure the fulfillment for the international obligations of Kuwait in this context, with the support for human rights work and the organizations which are working in this field.
