The International Association of Rights and Freedoms is following up the gross violations of human rights that harmed groups of displaced civilians and refugees from Syria to the borders of Lebanon in the area of Arsal, with a great concern. The Field the team of the association that is in charge of monitoring stated that the forces of the Lebanese army and the Lebanese security services committed serious violations of the right of the refugees and that forms a flagrant violation of the conditions of the international law and conventions and the related charters that are signed by Lebanon. These violations are: 1- The entire blockade of Arsal area for more than 10 days and prevented the entry of any relief assistance, including the UN staff working in the field of relief and humanitarian assistance. 2- Nearly 700 Syrians displaced were detained in two days and they weren’t entirely released, but only about eighty of them who are under the age of 13 years were released. 3- Burning the houses related to these displaced people and the destruction of their own property deliberately by the mechanisms of the army. 4- The Individuals of the Lebanese army committed practices that harmed the dignity of the displaced persons included stripping the detainees in whole or in part, and torture, including the elderly, the sick and even physically disabled.The female displaced also suffered from psychological violence, bad insults, and threats of rape. The violations mentioned above are considered to be a flagrant violation of the international law and covenants that are related to the civil and political rights and the conventions against torture and the protocols attached to them, and represents a violation of the rights of the refugees. Accordingly, the International Association of Rights and Freedoms calls for the Human Rights Council to send a fact-finding committee on the violations and to listen to the victims were subjected to them, and the Association demands the Lebanese government To commit to the international laws and humanitarian conventions and protocols signed by Lebanon with its choice that stressed on its respect and carrying out them through the successive ministerial statements.
