ABSTRACT
Thesocio-economicdevelopmentandprosperityofruralareasdependstoaconsiderableextentonthetypeofyouthliving inruralareas.Becausetheruralyouthhaveabilitiestoorientthemselvestogoalongthemainstreamofthedevelopment process.Thepresentstudyentitled“roleofYouthindecisionmakingoftheagriculturalactivitiesinDevarakondablockof Nalgondadistrict“Atotalof120respondentswereselectedrandomlyfromtenvillagesforpresentstudy.Thestudy revealedthatmajorityofrespondentsbelongedtomiddlesocio-economicstatus.40.00%respondentshavemediumlevelof roleindecisionmakingfollowedby35.83%respondentshadhighlevelofroleindecisionmakingand24.17%lowlevelof roleindecisionmaking.Themajorityofrespondentsbelongedtomiddlesocio-economicstatus.Theypossessedmedium levelofparticipationinagriculturalactivities.Thestudyalsorevealedthattheroleofyouthindecisionmakinghave positiveandnon-significantcorrelationwithOperationalLandholding,positiveandsignificantcorrelationwith occupationrestofallindependentvariableslikeage,education,annualincome,occupation,typeofhouse,decision making,extensionparticipation,massmediaexposure.

INTRODUCTION
Theresourcesofanynationareitsnaturalresourcesandpeople.Theyouthoftodayarethefuturecitizensofthecountry. Theyarethehopeoftomorrow.Theyarethebackboneofthecountry.Youthreflectthenationalpotentialandrepresent thelifebloodofanation.TheyouthconstituteavastreservoirofenergyespeciallyinahugecountrysuchasIndia.Outof thetotalpopulationofIndia,youthconstitute40percentofyoungpeople,manandwomen,areavailableforhandling varioustasksofdevelopmentoflocal,regionalandnationallevel.Theyarethenationalcreamandthefuturecrownwith fullpossessionofphysicalbuiltandmentaltenacityandpower(Arowoloetal.,2013).Theaimofyouthparticipationin farmingistobringtogethertheeffortandenergyofyouth.Workingpartyonyouthandpopulation(1974)rightly recommendedthatyoungpeopleberepresentedathigherlevelofdecision-makingprocessinthefieldofdevelopment, particularlyinsocio-economic,politicalandagriculturalareas(Kimaroetal.,2015).Participationofruralyouthswas emphasisedwithrealizationofthefactthatopportunitymustbegiventoyoungergenerationtofunctionintheprocessof

decisionmakingwhichisrelatedwiththedevelopmentofagriculturalandruralarea.Youtharemorereceptivetonew innovations/techniquesinanyfieldofdevelopmentthantheelderones.Theyouth,ifprovidedpropertraininginmodern agriculturaltechnologies,theynotonlycomeforwardtoacceptchangesbutalso,theycaninfluenceandeducatethe membersoffarmingcommunityaboutmodernagriculturaltechnologies
RESEARCHMETHODOLOGY
Theresearchdesignoptedforthestudyisdescriptiveresearchdesign.Thistypeofdesignisoptedgenerallywhentheresearcher wantstostudythecurrentsituationinadescriptivemanner.ThepresentstudywasconductedinNalgondadistrictofTelangana state,fromNalgondadistrictDevarakondaMandalwasselectedpurposivelybasedonconsiderablenumberofrespondents.From DevarakondaMandalatotaloftenvillagesi.e.,Kacahram,RathyaThanda,PeddaThanda,Kamalapur,Kondabeemanapally, Telugupally,Thatikole,Sheripalli,Gottimukkala,andIllegallywereselectedrandomlyforthepresentstudy.

Basedonthedatacollectedthroughtheindependentvariablesandappropriateanalysistherespondentsarecategorizedinto threelevelsandarerepresentedinthebelowtable.
Fromtheabovetable1,itisevidentthatmajorityoftherespondents(51.66%)havehighlevelsofdecisionmakingabilityfollowedby28.34percentoftherespondentshavelowlevelsofdecision-makingabilityand20.00percent oftherespondentshavehighlevelsofdecision-makingability.ThefindingswerefoundtobeinlinewithMubeenaetal., (2020)andPateletal.(2012)
Theroleofyouthinmajordecision-makingareasrelatedtoagriculturewasexplained.Thedatacollectedwasgrouped, analyzedandpresentedinthefollowingtable.

Fromthedataobtainedfromtheabovetable1.Theroleofyouthinmajordecision-makingareasrelatedto agriculturewasexplained.theparticipationoftheagriculturalyouthinvariousfarmactivitieslikeselectionofvariety, transplanting,disease/pestmanagement,irrigation,fertilizationmanagement,weeding,harvesting,post-harvesting management,storageandmarketingofmajorcropsi.e.,paddy,cotton,brinjalandredchilliesgrowninthestudyareais recorded.Themajoritypercentagesofinvolvementoftheyouthindecision-makingrelatedtoagriculturewasrecorded. Basedonthedatacollectedandanalysedtherespondentsweregroupedintothreecategoriesontheirlevelofdecision makingandarepresentedinthebelowtable
Itisevidentthatmostoftherespondents(40.00%)hadmediumlevelofroleindecisionmakingfollowedby 35.83percentoftherespondentshadhighlevelofroleindecisionmakingand24.17percentoftherespondentshadlow levelofroleindecisionmaking.Thisconcludesthatmostoftheruralyouthhavemediumlevelsofdecisionmaking.
Theco-efficientofco-relationbetweentheage(0.2278),education(0.3664),occupation(0.4171),typeofhouse (0.5583),extensionparticipation(0.3036),decisionmaking(0.3465),socialparticipation(0.4682)andmassmedia exposure(0.3607)andtheroleofyouthindecisionmakingwasmorethanthetablevalue“r”at1percentlevelof significance.Whiletheco-efficientofco-relationbetweenoperationallandholding(0.0952)andannualincome(0.6393) wasmorethanthetablevalue“r”at5percentlevelofsignificance.Itcanbeinferredthatthereisapositiveand significantrelationshipbetweentheage,education,annualincome,occupation,extensionparticipation,social participation,operationallandholding,decisionmaking,massmediaexposureandtheroleofyouthindecisionmaking. SimilarfindingsarealsoreportedbySavita(2011).
CONCLUSION
Itisconcludedthatmajorityoftheyouthhavebelongedtomiddleagegroup,thisshowsthatyouthisinterestedin agriculture.Mostoftheyouthhavereceivedformaleducationandcompletedprimaryschool,havelowlevelsofannual income,haveagricultureastheirmainoccupationandliveincementedhouse.Majorityoftheyouthhadnolandandare workingasagriculturelabouratpresent,mediumlevelsofdecisionmaking,mediumlevelsofextensionparticipation, mediumlevelsofsocialparticipationandmediumlevelsofmassmediaexposure.Mostoftheagricultureyouthhave mediumlevelsofsocio-economicstatus.Mostoftheyouthplaymediumroleindecisionmakingofagriculture.Therole ofyouthindecisionmakinghavepositiveandnon-significantcorrelationwithoperationallandholding,positiveand significantcorrelationwithoccupationrestofallindependentvariableslikeage,education,annualincome,occupation, typeofhouse,decisionmaking,extensionparticipation,massmediaexposure.
