What a great time of year! The holidays are upon us, and winter is around the corner. For many of us, it’s our favorite time to entertain, so of course we want our homes to look extra special when welcoming friends and family. It’s time to bring in that glitter and intrigue by mixing metals.
Clients often express a resistance to mixing metals - brass, nickel, bronze, and copper. They feel it’s only appropriate to use one at a time. The opposite is actually true! For example, every day we mix gold and silver jewelry, and this time of year, our homes are bedecked with holiday decor that is predominantly gold, silver, and copper. Mixing metals can give your home that exceptionally luxurious feel.
After the holiday décor is packed up for another year and your home feels a bit empty, including some mixed metal accessories like mirrors, brass candlesticks, hammered copper wall hangings, and statues will give the bleak winter months some extra pizazz.
