HOLIDAY GUESTS COMING? Use these quick ideas for EXTRA SEATING that will allow your home to have function, while giving more dimension and color. A well-placed bench, stool, or ottoman can help liven up a room with some dimension and serve as extra seating without making a room feel crowded.

1. BENCHES • Put one against the wall in your entry and add a mirror or piece of art on the wall above it. • Place one in front of a window if it won't obscure your view. • Bring a bench in front of a bed, in either the guest or master bedroom.

2. STOOLS • Place a couple in front of your fireplace or hearth. • Position a pair under a console in the back of your sofa or against a wall. • Place a couple on the end of the cocktail table for an easy pull-up for snacks. • Put two under a round entry table.

3. OTTOMANS • Combine four square ottomans together and position a tray on top for drinks to serve as a cocktail table. Move slightly apart for extra seating when needed. • Use a pair in front of a fireplace or tucked beneath a console to pull out when you have extra guests.
