As seasons change, we naturally want to create an interior environment that reflects the outdoor mood. It only takes a few changes to revive your space and give it a refreshed new look. I’ll start with the four obvious and easy ones: paint, throw pillows, rugs, and drapes. Changing out those staples will always be a tried and true way to give your room a major instant makeover. Here are a few more personalized ideas to help take your living room to the next level:

• Swap out accessories with another room. Collect candlesticks, mirrors, frames, trays and pieces from other rooms in the house and give them a new home. • Add seasonal plants in unexpected containers. • Rearrange your art. Even by keeping it in the same room, changing the placement or creating a gallery wall will have a major impact.

• Invest in a few quality throws that will add texture and withstand plenty of cold nights. • Update your lighting. A chandelier is like jewelry to a room. A new fixture can help transform your space with a new look. • Add ottomans and/or drink tables. Holidays always call for more seating and places to put your cocktails. • Splurge on a new permanent floral. The addition of a floral brightens every room, and the money you save by investing in a quality arrangement pays for itself.
