SPEAKERS Iain Anderson, Executive Chairman of Cicero Group (Member of IBDE Advisory Board) Ian is an expert in public policy and complex corporate communications issues. He has over 20 years experience, initially as a business journalist and then as a founding shareholder at Incisive Media. He has also worked for a range of UK politicians. Iain was part of the founding team at Cicero Group and focuses on public policy and corporate communications strategy. Iain is former Chairman of the Association of Professional Political Consultants and a past Chairman of the CIPR Public Affairs group. He was ranked in the top quartile of the Total Politics Top 100 Lobbyists and appears in the PR Week Power Book. Anna Anthony, Board Director, IBDE (Managing Partner, EMEIA Financial Services, Tax, EY) Anna is Managing Partner of EMEIA Financial Services Tax at Ernst & Young (EY) based in London. She has worked as an International Tax Advisor, focused on the financial services sector for over 15 years, including active involvement in tax policy consultations. Lesley Batchelor OBE, Board Director, IBDE (Director General of Institute of Export and International Trade) Lesley is a champion of UK exporters, with a powerful track record in enhancing the performance of hundreds of businesses. Lesley is Director General of the Institute of Export and International Trade. She is active on the APPG Advisory Panel on Trade & Investment, the APP Manufacturing Group and has given evidence to the House of Lords Select Committee on Government support for SMEs. Lesley is a graduate of the Institute of Export qualifications and the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She has invaluable expertise in intellectual property, global licensing and marketing. Lesley was awarded an OBE in the 2014 Birthday Honours List and recently judged to be the CBI Real Business First Woman in Business Services and CEO of the Year from the Congress of Trade Associations for 2015. Sir Win Bischoff, Chairman, Financial Reporting Council (Member of IBDE Advisory Board) Sir Win is Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council in the United Kingdom and Chairman of J.P. Morgan Securities plc. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of Akbank TAS, Turkey. He was previously Chairman of Lloyds Banking Group plc (2009-2014). Sir Win has substantial experience of leading international committees and boards. He was CEO and then Chairman of Schroders plc (1984-2000), Chairman of Citigroup Europe (2000-2009) and interim CEO and then Chairman of Citigroup Inc (2007-2009). In 2016 he was awarded a Non-Executive Director Lifetime Achievement Award.

Deborah Bronnert CMG, Director General - Economic and Global Issues, FCO Deborah was appointed Director-General Economic and Global Issues at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in April 2017. Previous to her current post, Deborah was the FCO’s Director-General for Economic and Consular and its Chief Operating Officer from January 2016 to March 2017. She was the Ambassador to Zimbabwe from 2011 to 2014. In London she served as Director Global & Economic Issues, and the G8 Foreign Affairs Sous-Sherpa, and prior to that as a Head of Department on Europe. Deborah has also worked in the Department of the Environment. Deborah’s first degree is in Mathematics (from Bristol) and she has a Masters in Political Economy of Russia and Eastern Europe (SSEES/UCL). She speaks French and Russian. Deborah was awarded the CMG in 2012. Deborah is a member of the British Council Board of Trustees. Richard Burge, CEO, Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) Richard is Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council in April 2017. Richard is also currently a member of the Council of Durham University, Chair of the Council of Hatfield College, Durham, and a Commissioner to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. From 2009 to 2017, he was a Chief Executive at Wilton Park, an executive agency of the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office which brings together leading representatives from the worlds of politics, diplomacy, academia, business, civil society, the military and the media to provide innovative thinking on global issues. He read zoology at the University of Durham and was a Commonwealth Scholar at the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. Francesca Carlesi, Co-Founder and CEO, Molo Francesca is currently CEO of Molo, a early stage start-up focused on digital mortgage lending that she co-founded in 2017 to bring finally digital disruption to the mortgage space. Before Molo, Francesca had 10+ years of banking experience and has held several senior roles as Managing Director in some of the largest banks in Europe, including Deutsche Bank, Barclays, and Intesa SanPaolo. She was previously an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Co, and executive at Bridgepoint Capital private equity. She holds a PhD in Banking and Finance from the University of Rome, MBA (Hons) from Columbia University, Diploma from Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Francesca was nominated a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2014. Susanne Chishti, Founder and CEO, FINTECH Circle Susanne is the Founder & CEO of FINTECH Circle and the FINTECH Circle Institute, the leading peerto-peer learning platform providing in person and online courses across FinTech enterprise innovation, WealthTech, InsurTech, RegTech knowledge, artificial intelligence and blockchain applications in finance, crypto-currencies and startup methodologies. As Co-Editor of the global Bestseller "The FINTECH Book" she has been selected as a "City Innovator - Inspirational Woman" in 2016 after working for 14 years across Deutsche Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, Morgan Stanley and Accenture in London and Hong Kong. She has also been a FinTech TV Commentator on CNBC and is a guest lecturer on financial technology at the University of Cambridge. Nick Collier, Chairman, Diplomatic Engagement, IBDE (Global Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs, Thomson Reuters) Nick is the Global Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs at Thomson Reuters. He moved from Morgan Stanley, where he had been Head of EMEA Government Relations since June 2007. Nick previously held roles as the Head of Regulatory Policy at the International Capital Market Association, as the Director of International Risk, Compliance and Government Affairs at Instinet, and as the European head of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association. He started his career in the Bank of England, including a spell as the UK financial attaché to the EU.

Julian David, CEO, techUK Julian is the CEO of techUK. He was appointed as the director general of Intellect in March 2012 and led its transformation to techUK in November 2013. Julian leads techUK's 60 strong team in representing more than 950 member companies, including multi-nationals and more than 500 SMEs to ensure that the digital tech industry is at the heart of a modern society and economy in Britain. He is a member of the government and industry Cyber Growth Partnership and Digital Advisory Council. He is also techUK’s representative on the National Trade Association Council of Digital Europe. Sir Martin Donnelly, Former Permanent Secretary Department for International Trade A high profile UK public sector leader whose career across central Government, starting in the Treasury to Whitehall leadership at Permanent Secretary level. He set up the UK Department of International Trade in 2016 and has a wide network of senior contacts and connections across business and government in Europe and internationally. Sir Martin joined the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills as Permanent Secretary in 2010. Prior to this, he was acting Permanent Under Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) from May to August 2010, guiding the department through the first months of the coalition government. He joined the FCO board in 2004 as Director General, Europe and Globalisation, where he was G8 foreign affairs Sherpa. Sir Martin was knighted in June 2016. H.E. Euripides Evriviades, High Commissioner of Cyprus to the UK H.E. Euripides L Evriviades is High Commissioner of Cyprus to the Court of St James's as of November 2013. He previously served as Ambassador to Israel, to The Netherlands, to the USA with concurrent accreditation as High Commissioner to Canada. He was also Ambassador / Permanent Representative of to the Council of Europe. In his 42 year long career, he served at the United Nations and as Consul in New York, in Bonn, in Moscow (USSR/Russia) and in Libya. He was twice Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Permanent Secretary. During his tenure in London, he was awarded the Freedom of the City of London (2017) and was voted Diplomat of the Year from Europe by his peers (2015). His academic background lies in international affairs and security having graduated from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Rt Hon Mark Field MP, Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific, FCO Mark was appointed Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on 13 June 2017. He was first elected as the Conservative MP for the Cities of London and Westminster in 2001. Mark served on the Intelligence and Security Committee from September 2010 until March 2015. He was made a Privy Counsellor in March 2015 in recognition of his service on this demanding, sensitive parliamentary committee. Throughout the 2015 to 2017 Parliament he served as the Vice Chairman (International Affairs) of the Conservative Party, a role which included extensive diplomatic contact and work alongside senior figures in sister parties across the world. Outside politics Mark trained as a solicitor with City law firm, Richards Butler and then joined Freshfields where he spent two years as a corporate lawyer. John Forrest, Partner, Head of International Trade, DLA Piper John is an experienced international trade practitioner, specialising in export controls, sanctions and international trade law. He has advised international governments and commerce on international trade issues. Formerly John was advisor to the UK Government on trade and investment policy and has represented the UK in the EU, the WTO, the OECD and the United Nations. He has directly advised a number of foreign Governments on various aspects of their trade and investment policy and negotiations with the European Union. This experience has given John an expert knowledge of the legal and regulatory implications and also the opportunities provided by Brexit. John is a key member of the DLA Piper's Brexit group and a known authority on Brexit in related issues for businesses and government bodies in the UK, EU and the rest of the world. John has published a number of articles and spoken at seminars across Europe on the impact of Brexit.

Sir Roger Gifford, Chairman of Advisory Board, IBDE Sir Roger Gifford is a senior banker at SEB, based in the City of London. Sir Roger was born in Scotland and educated at Sedbergh in Yorkshire, before going on to study chemistry at Trinity College, Oxford. He began his career in the financial sector at S.G. Warburg & Co before joining Enskilda Securities, then a subsidiary of SEB, in 1982. Prior to his appointment as Head of SEB London (2000-2016), Sir Roger headed the bank's operations for 6 years in Japan. He has worked in the primary debt and equity capital markets most of his career. Sir Roger is Vice Chairman and a past Chairman of the Association of Foreign Banks in London, President of the Bank Workers Charity and the Chairman of the City of London 2016 Green Finance Initiative. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Multrees Investor Services, a fast-growing financial intermediary in the wealth management industry. Sir Roger's interests in music and the arts are reflected in his voluntary work as a trustee of several charitable foundations as well as a patron for the financial literacy charity MyBnk. He is chairman of the English Chamber Orchestra, Tenebrae Choir and the City Music Foundation and is a trustee of St Pauls Cathedral Foundation and the Barbican Centre Trust. He is a strong supporter of the City's contribution to the economic, cultural and social fabric of the UK. Sir Roger was Lord Mayor of the City of London in 2013 and was knighted in the 2014 New Year Honours for services to international business, culture and the City. Rudi Guraziu, Executive Chairman, IBDE Rudi is founder of the International Business and Diplomatic Exchange (IBDE). He leads the IBDE’s overall strategy development, fundraising and relationship with key stakeholders. He is supported by the IBDE Board and Advisory Board made up of senior business leaders, ambassadors and experts from relevant fields. Rudi spent the 1990s as a principal of a large pharmaceutical business. His interests include trade & investment promotion, international affairs with a particular focus on strategic policy, EU affairs, financial services regulation, energy security, public policy, political risk, international business, international trade, economic, corporate and commercial diplomacy. Following the recent financial crisis, Rudi led IBDE to the launch of the first international programme on responsible banking and finance which came to be supported by most senior industry practitioners, regulators and policymakers. In addition to IBDE, Rudi is founder of AlbionRock, a business advisory firm providing strategic consulting on Brexit; Global Economic Forum and the Global Business and Diplomatic Golf Network, providing an exclusive informal environment for business leaders and senior diplomats to establish, enhance and broaden their partnerships whilst enjoying the game of Golf. Paul Hardy, Brexit Director, DLA Piper Paul is a legal director and lead Brexit specialist in DLA Piper’s Litigation & Regulatory group, complementing its existing Government Affairs, Trade and Regulatory capabilities. Paul has over 20 years' experience as a lawyer including first-hand experience of working both in Brussels and Westminster. His professional background makes him uniquely placed to navigate clients through the complexities of Brexit. He remains a door tenant at the specialist EU and environmental law barristers' chambers, Francis Taylor Building, where he last practiced. Peter Harrison, Group CEO, Schroders PLC (Member of IBDE Advisory Board) Peter joined Schroders in March 2013 and is Group Chief Executive, based in London. He was appointed to the Board of Schroders plc in May 2014. Prior to his current role he was Global Head of Investment. Before joining Schroders, Peter was Chairman and CEO of RWC Partners. From 2004 to 2006, he was Global Chief Investment Officer of Deutsche Bank’s various asset management businesses. Peter began his career at Schroders, and later spent time at Newton Investment Management and Flemings/JP Morgan, as a Portfolio Manager. Peter is the Chairman of the Investment Association Board and Advisory Council. He is part of the CFA Advisory Council and on the TheCityUK Advisory Board.

Alan Houmann, Chairman of Policy, IBDE (Head of EMEA Government Affairs, Citi) Alan is the managing director and head of Citi’s government affairs team for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Alan is a member of Citi’s EMEA Operating Committee (OpCo), and is the regional representative on Citi’s Pride Affinity Steering Committee. Alan participates actively in the public policy arena, having served on the Board of TheCityUK, a body set up to promote financial services in the UK and aboard; he also chairs TheCityUK’s EU Strategy Group, and is a member of the executive board of its International Regulatory Strategy Group (IRSG). Alan also serves on the External Affairs Committee of UK Finance (formerly the British Bankers Association), and chairs its Brexit Advisory Committee. He also serves on the board of IBDE and chairs its policy committee. Alan has masters degrees in international studies and philosophy, from the University of St. Andrews, and in economics from the University of London. Carmina Lees, Managing Director, Accenture Carmina is a Managing Director at Accenture within Financial Services, joining in September 2017. Prior to this she was at IBM for 19 years, her most recent role was the Vice President of IBM’s Cyber Security Business in the UK & Ireland (UKI). Carmina has always been an active supporter of promoting the presence of women in IT since the start of her career. She was the Executive sponsor for IBM’s “UKI Women’s Leadership Council”, which demonstrates her strong track record and reputation as an ambassador for women in technology. She was a finalist at the 2016 Women in IT Awards for “Women of the Year”. Prof Marianne Lewis, Dean, Cass Business School (Member of IBDE Advisory Board) Marianne is Dean of Cass Business School and Professor of Management. She joined Cass after a decade as Associate Dean of the University of Cincinnati, having earned her PhD from the University of Kentucky, and her MBA from Indiana University. Her research explores leadership and management issues involving organizational paradoxes. Change and complexity accentuate tensions – competing demands, contradictory pressures and challenging double-binds. Her work develops paradox theory to explore related leadership opportunities and challenges. Studies span contexts, applying this lens in such fields as product development, organizational change, governance, and technology implementation. Her paper, “Exploring Paradox: Her work also appears in other leading journals, such as the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Operations Management, and Human Relations. Professor Lewis was a UK Fulbright in 2014, and is currently completing two books addressing leadership and organizational paradox. Harriet Matthews CMG OBE, Director of Policy, Commonwealth Summit (CHOGM 2018) Harriet is Director of Policy of the Commonwealth Summit, CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2018). Harriet joined the FCO in 1997 and most recently headed the Ebola Task Force. Harriet was a British Ambasador to Somalia. She is an Africa specialist and has held three other positions related to Africa, including the Head of East and West Africa Department. Harriet has also been Head of Energy in the Foreign Office and has worked in Brazil, Israel and Afghanistan. Catherine McGuinness, Chairman of Policy, City of London (Member of IBDE Advisory Board) Catherine McGuinness is Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee of the City of London Corporation. As Chairman of the Policy Committee, Catherine is Deputy Chairman of TheCityUK, the promotional body for the UK financial services industry, and the International Regulatory Strategy Group. She is Chairman of the City’s Courts Sub Committee, the body responsible for the management of the Old Bailey and the City of London Magistrates’ Court, which benefits from her substantive background in the legal sector. She has led the City’s work on education, chairing its Education Board and the City of London Academies Trust. Catherine has also been closely involved with the City’s cultural offer, having chaired the boards of the Barbican Arts Centre and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and with the City’s relationship with Northern Ireland. She is a director of “London Works”, a recruitment agency launched by the East London Business Alliance, and a commissioner on the IPPR Commission on Economic Justice. Catherine studied PPE at St Anne’s College, Oxford.

Michael McKee, Board Director, IBDE (Partner, DLA Piper) Michael is Partner and Head of the European Financial Services Regulatory practice at DLA Piper. The financial services group services clients across the full spectrum of financial services. The financial services practice deals with both contentious and non-contentious regulatory issues. Michael has over 29 years experience in the financial services sector having practised at major international law firms in London and with several years of in-house experience at Citigroup where he provided legal advice to the trading floor and other parts of the business. Michael also has wide-ranging experience of banking and investment banking issues having worked for some years as Executive Director at the British Bankers Association where he led the negotiation of major European Directives such as the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and the Market Abuse Directive on behalf of the banking industry in the UK. Michael also has a deep understanding of payments law and led the implementation of PSD across more than 20 countries for a major UK bank. His deep understanding of financial services law and regulation includes a wide range of contacts within the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority and contacts with regulators across Europe and elsewhere. Natasha Miller, Managing Director, Accenture Natasha is a Managing Director for Accenture Financial Services in Europe. She is currently the COO for this business, working across Accenture's businesses (Consulting, Digital, Operations, Strategy, Technology and Security) leading on business operations in over 20 countries. One of the most exciting aspects of this very broad mandate is shaping the Financial Services Europe business talent plan. For more than 25 years, she has helped Financial Services organisations transform into businesses fit for the future. Today, she uses this depth of experience to help Accenture build teams and connect services across global markets. Ms. Miller has also overseen Financial Services business operations in Africa, Middle East and Latin America, and before that, she was a Client Partner working with global Tier 1 retail banking and financial services institutions. She is an active member of industry groups including City UK and IBDE and enjoys participating in working group and roundtable discussions across the industry. In addition, Ms Miller has recently been elected as a Governor at St Mary’s school in London. Richard Pattle, Vice Chairman, Private Bank, Standard Chartered Richard is a Vice Chairman, Private Bank at Standard Chartered Bank. Richard has an extensive experience gained in his military career as a battlefield helicopter pilot and leader and, more recently, working for TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. He joined the Royal Household in 2004, and became Master of the Household in 2008, running the largest department at Clarence House and responsible for the smooth running of their Royal Highness’ royal residences, staff and operations. Richard also helped to lead the delivery of key national and international engagements, in conjunction with Her Majesty’s Government, Foreign Governments and Their Royal Highnesses’ charitable organisations. He was appointed to be a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order in 2014. Based in London, Richard will report to Stephen Richards Evans, Global Head, UHNW, Private Banking Clients. Stephen will relocate from Dubai to Singapore to lead, develop and direct the new segment with effect from 1 October 2014. Prior to this, Stephen was Regional Head of Private Banking Clients for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan (MENAP), Africa, South Asia and Europe regions. Sushil Saluja, Senior Managing Director, Accenture (Member of IBDE Advisory Board) Sushil is Senior Managing Director for Accenture Financial Services in Europe. He serves as a member of Accenture’s global Financial Services Board, which oversees a $7bn business worldwide. Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Saluja led Accenture’s Financial Services business in Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong, and before that, he led the Financial Services business in UK/Ireland, and Accenture Payment Services globally. Sushil serves on the board for TheCityUK. In addition, he serves on the boards of a few charities in London: Heart of the City, assisting small and medium enterprises to develop their corporate and social responsibility programmes; and The Princes’ Teaching Institute which aims to enhance the quality of academic standards in in UK government schools. Sushil joined Accenture in 1998 after studying Engineering at Cambridge University. He is member of the IBDE Advisory Board.

Russ Shaw, Founder, Tech London Advocates and Global Tech Advocates (Member of IBDE Advisory Board) Russ is the Founder of Tech London Advocates and Global Tech Advocates, global advocacy groups of 5,000 senior leaders in the tech community, created to champion and accelerate the growth of London’s technology sector. Russ is a non-executive director for Unwire ApS and on the Advisory Boards of E2Exchange, Teen Tech, BBC Make It Digital, Growth Enabler and Founders4Schools. He was appointed a London Tech Ambassador for the Mayor of London in 2014. He is an angel and venture capital investor and was Chairman of the Marketing Group of Great Britain. Previously, Russ held senior management positions at Skype, Telefonica/O2, ntl (now Virgin Media), Charles Schwab and American Express and was CEO of a later stage mobile startup called Mobileway (acquired by Sybase). He has a BSc from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Sigga Sigurdardottir, Chief Customer and Innovation Officer, Santander UK Sigga is a digital change agent, driving innovation-led transformation across Santander UK and influencing change across the industry. She is partnering with the start-up, digital and fintech community to lead efforts to design a customer-centric ‘bank of the future’ through mobile-first business models. She sits on The City UK Fintech Delivery Panel, the Financial Services Trade and Investment Board Fintech Senior Steering Committee, the CBI Innovation Council and the Business in the Community Race Equality Board.

H.E. Mr Koji Tsuruoka, Ambassador of Japan to the UK (Member of IBDE Advisory Board) H.E. Mr. Koji Tsuruoka was appointed as the Ambassador of Japan to the United Kingdom in April 2016. Prior to this appointment, he was the Chief Negotiator for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) (2013-2016). Ambassador Tsuruoka has served in embassies in Moscow, Washington and Jakarta. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he has served as the director of the legal division and North American division, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Policy Bureau (2003-2006), Director-General for Global Issues (2006-2008), Director-General, International Legal Affairs Bureau (2008-2010), Deputy Vice- Minister for Foreign Policy (2010- 2012), and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs (2012 –2013).
