he first year event of the True Italian Taste project organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam took place on January 26 in Hanoi at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi hotel. The event was attended by ICHAM Chairman, Mr. Michele D’Ercole, who introduced the event, Executive Director of ICHAM Mr. Pham Hoang Hai, Commercial Officer of the Italian Embassy in Hanoi – Mr. Antonino Tedesco and Executive Chef Alessio Rasom.
Pasta Masterclass True Italian Taste Project The preparation of the dishes was carried out by Executive Chef Alessio Rasom, who showed the guests how to prepare the pasta directly, from the dough to its serving. During the process, chef Rasom shared with participants several cultural and personal stories about the dishes he chose, including the Italian folklore relaing to the dishes.
The entire event was accompanied by the involvement of the audience, made up of distributors, journalists, food blogger, F&B managers, influencers, through quizzes on some issues discussed during the event, and in conclusion the participants had the opportunity to taste the dishes prepared by the Chef.

rom January 1, 2021, the changes that occurred in 2020 to the Investment Law and the Business Law, the two main statutes governing the formation and management of companies in Vietnam, have come into effect. To help businesses understand better these changes, on February 4th, ICHAM organized the webinar “Amendments to the Law on Investment and the Law on Enterprise” with Mr. Pham Hoang Hai, Executive Director as the moderator and Mr. Federico Vasoli, Founding Partner of dMTV Global as our speaker. Some

fundamental aspects such as: Establishment of a company (company logo, introduction of the so-called “negative list” and of the sectors encouraged); Corporate governance (elimination of mandatory “inspectors”, presence of more than one legal representative, board of directors, rights of minority shareholders); and Notifications regarding mergers & acquisitions. While each of these points would merit detailed academic analysis, their practical effects can be meaningful to practitioners and summarized in a short, concrete discussion.

n March 03rd, ICHAM had successfully organized our Annual General Meeting 2021 via Zoom and in the presence of ICHAM’s member in Hanoi (from Casa Italia), Ho Chi Minh city (from Caravelle Saigon) along with others members connected from Italy and China. From Hanoi, the event was attended by H.E. Antonio Alessandro – Ambassador of Italy in Vietnam and Mr. Antonino Tedesco – Head of Economic and Commercial section of Italian Embassy in Vietnam. From Ho Chi Minh
city, we had H.E. Dante Brandi – Consul General of Italy in HCMC and Mr. Paolo Lemma – Director of ITA – Italian Trade Agency office in Ho Chi Minh City The meeting discussed ICHAM’s activities in the year 2020, the Chamber’s bright prospect in 2021 and witnessed the election of one Councillor for the Board of Director 2021-2023. With much efforts during the pandemic, ICHAM have successfully overcome dificulty and become one of few Foreign Chamber managed
to maintain its operation in well pace during the year 2020. ICHAM would like to thank the Councillor Mr. Mario Archidiacono for his contribution during his term and to congratulate Mr. Diego Ficili for joining the Board during the term Mar 2021 – Feb 2023. Italian Culture Seminar Series for USSH’s students On March 26, 2021 in Ho Chi Minh city opened a series of seminars on Italian culture, organized by the Consulate General of Italy in collaboration with the Department of Italian Language & Literature of the University of Social Sciences & Humanities. For the first seminar
resources, technology transfer and production capacity in areas with traditional strengths such as machinery, machinery and electronics equipments, aerospace, marine, agricultural products, fashion, furniture and many more. The series of seminars, all delivered in Italian, are designed to provide Vietnamese students with a vision of the innovative and up-to-date aspects of Italian culture. The program was implemented in cooperation with the Department of Italian Language & Literature of the University of Social Sciences & Humanities with the support of Mr. Fabio Cappiello, who has been active in Vietnam for a long time in the fields of education, tourism and mediation. The series also received support and contributions from representatives of the Italian community active in Vietnam, with individual expertise in in a series of six seminars to be completed at different fields, as speakers. the end of the semester, the protagonist was Mr. Michele D’Ercole, Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (ICHAM), who presented the topic of “Italian Commercial Culture”. EuroCham AMG On Thursday, 25th March, EuroCham held its Extraordinary and Annual General Meeting in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The event, gathering hundreds of members, featured special guest speaker H.E. Giorgio Aliberti, EU Ambassador to Vietnam, who updated business leaders on the progress of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement and the situation of COVID-19.
EuroCham members met to approve changes to the chamber’s statutes, and to vote on the Minutes of the AGM 2020, the Auditor’s Report, the 2021 Auditor, and the 2021 Budget. Moreover, a new 16-member Executive Committee has now been elected, consisting of nine members elected at the AGM and a further seven appointed from each of EuroCham’s affiliated business associations.
