Welcome to your Easter getaway on our tropical island, where we invite you to relax and unwind but also to participate and enjoy the variety of exciting and fun Easter activities we have prepared for you. Inspired by “Mogli and his friends”, this year’s Easter holds some fun experiences for young and old.

We welcome Sharky & George from the UK to the island to keep the young ones entertained and happy as well as to add one or the other educational experience to their agenda. We are also flying in from the UK, Marianna Lumb, the visiting chef of this season, who will delight guests with her first-class cookery during the Easter week and beyond.

We will keep you and your little ones going with the annual Manta Trust Charity Run, the traditional Easter Egg Hunt, Fishing Competitions and many more fun-filled and exciting activities.

We look forward to welcoming you to our island and celebrating Easter 2024. Our team is at your service to curate unforgettable memories and experiences.

The Collective

By tradition, our culinary team has topped themselves in transforming the Collective into a chocolate wonderland for the Easter celebrations year after year. As impressive as it is tasty, guests can marvel but also pick, choose and try the wide range of organic chocolate collections inspired by the ”Easter Jungle” and the wonders of nature that can only be found in the Maldives.

MARIANNE LUMB

31 March to 10 April 2024

The British-born accomplished chef has fostered her career carefully, starting as a classically trained chef and working as a private chef for some of the most influential families in the British empire. She built from scratch and opened her own restaurant, Marianne, in London’s Notting Hill, which became soon critically acclaimed. Just after opening, she was awarded AMEX London Restaurant Festival “Chef of the Year” and won London’s “Top Gastronomic Experience” by Harden’s Guide.

She is a regular in front of the cameras at BBC’s Saturday Kitchen Live, a finalist on BBC’s Professional MasterChef, and a contestant on BBC’s “Great British Menu”. The knife skills expert has a huge passion for truffles, and she also loves to create beautiful soufflés, her current favourite being “malted gingerbread Souffle” with clementine ice cream and butterscotch.

During her residency at InterContinental Maldives, Marianne will cook several dinners at The Lighthouse and for the Easter days: “I love to create bespoke dishes for select events, using local inspiration and world-class skills. In the Maldives, I want to capture the amazing light in every piece of fruit, and all the awesome ocean in each fantastic fish, and perhaps bring a surprising technique or ingredient to the table too!” mentions the British chef, who will be working closely with the Maamunagau culinary crew.

SHARKY & GEORGE

The UK-based creative events team is in charge of good fun and igniting the spark of a jungle Easter celebration on Maamunagau. They are famous for events and parties they planned and executed, and their imaginative experiences are all about getting everyone involved in one-of-a-kind games and adventures along with a certain amount of mischief.

These ‘fun experts’ will take over the Planet Trekkers Kids Club over Easter and bring the kids along for plenty of adventure, exciting and fun activities and discoveries. Kids will have the best time on the island, from science games to crafting, pool Olympics and many more creative games.

SCIENCE IN THE KIDS CLUB

Participate in fun science experiences in this slimy and rocketry activity headed by the Sharky & George Team.

CUP CAKE BUNNY MAKING

The smell so yummy, and the taste so sweet and delicious. Our chefs know how to make delicious cupcakes and want to show you how and tell you all about it.

KITE FESTIVAL

Immense fun and skill are coming together during the Kite Festival. You will get a beautiful kite, able to fly as high up as the line allows to conquer the hues of a Maldivian sunset.

POOL PARTY & WATER GAMES

There is some fishy business going on in our Planet Trekker pool. You better come and check this out! Who can dive the fastest, and have you ever tried pool limbo? Overall, a water-filled afternoon awaits with the Sharky & George team.

MOCKTAIL MAKING CLASS

The perfect family fun at the Pool Bar. Learn how to mix it right and catch some tips and tricks for our Maamunagau Bar team.

EASTER EGG DECORATION

There can never be too many! But those are the most delicious ones. Decorate your chocolate Easter egg - fun for the whole family.

BEACH FUN

We will have some fun at the beach with sandcastle building, water balloon games and all the good stuff the Sharky & George team has in stock.

MANTA TRUST CHARITY RUN

With all the Easter fun and delicacies, we get a move on and encourage you to participate in the second Maamunagau Manta Trust Charity Run. Ask your friends and family to sponsor your run, or you can be your sponsor. All donations will support the work of the Manta Trust.

DISCO AND TALENT SHOW

Musical mats, limbo, statues, and some cool glow stick fun are on the agenda, but then it will come down to your talent to dress up and release the rockstar in you.

Of course, we never know for sure, but we are confident that the Easter Bunny will find its way to our shores this year. Keep an eye out, and do not miss our cute bunny bringing sweet surprises.

It’s Easter Day! Now, all you have to do is find as many easter eggs as possible, and the Sharky & George team will make it extra fun. The more you find, the higher the chances of winning one of the three main prizes.

This Easter cookie-baking class is some serious bunny business. Under the guidance of our pastry masters, make the best Easter cookies and share them with your friends and family.

We’ll form teams, and the games may begin – of course, the Sharky & George team will make sure these are more fun-filled than the real games.

FAMILY FISHING GAME

Who doesn’t love a fun-filled day full of pirate adventures? The Sharky & George team has lots of pirate-themed crafting and mischief in stock for our little ones.

PIRATE QUEST

All aboard, and off we go. The traditional Maamunagau Pirate Cruise just got better as the Sharky & George team takes over and spills some extra pirate fun.

VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

Beach Volleyball for everyone! Join the fun at the beach with other guests and the island team.

FAMILY GAME SHOW

Musical talent is not required but may come in handy. With a lot of creativity, music and fun, the whole family can join in here.

After all this fun and excitement, it is time to unwind and relax for a bit. The Sharky & George team will take the little ones on a tiny Wellness Journey, which will also be fun and entertaining.
