LOCATION

The Resort is located in Raa Atoll in the North of Maldives, an administrative division of the Maldives. The capital is Ungoofaaru. Perched on a detached reef, with very deep waters makes the area a perfect spot for divers and snorkelling fans.

Guests arriving at Velana International Airport in Male before 03.30 pm, will continue their jouney to the resort by a 35-minute seaplane transfer. Guests arriving on international flights after 03.30 pm will be escorted to the Domestic Terminal to embark on a 20-minute domestic flight to Dharavandhoo Domestic Airport, followed by a 35-minute speedboat transfer to the resort.

MARINE DISCOVERY CENTRE

Recognizing the unique privilege of occupying an island in such close proximity to Baa Atoll’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, we see sustainability as a nonnegotiable. Whether through the establishment of a research-led Marine Centre, screening of educational films and presentations or working in collaboration with the Manta Trust Foundation, protecting our beautiful lagoon and beyond is at the heart of everything we do.

Understanding that our values are likely to align with those of our guests, there is also the opportunity to experience a fascinating Marine Biology night feature, embark on an exploratory excursion to Hanifaru Bay or even make a difference by adopting your very own Manta.

FITNESS CENTRE

For those seeking to journey into mindfulness, stretch and strengthen on the yoga pavilion, or share your fitness goals with a personalized trainer for a tailoredto-you vacation plan.

The Fitness Centre is open 24 hours.

PLANET TREKKERS

With a captivating array of wildlife just on the doorstep, kid’s club Planet Trekkers is a youngster’s paradise for discovering the deep wonders of the Indian Ocean. Through games, arts and local crafts and mini expeditions, budding marine biologists and curious explorers from ages 4-12 can connect with the magic of the island while making brilliant friendships.

For older adventurers, supervised water activities in the house reef provide lots of over-dinner stories, and perhaps even inspiration to request a bespoke storytelling or Astronomy nights. For the under 4years old, peace-seeking adults can benefit from a 24-hour babysitting service, allowing undisturbed enjoyment of the resort’s unrivalled bars and restaurants.

BUSINESS LOUNGE

The Business Lounge, located in The Collective, is open 24 hours with staffing from 07.00 am - 07.00 pm Monday to Friday and 10.00 am - 06.00 pm Saturday and Sunday. For enquiries, please call 2584.

PHOTO STUDIO

Capture once in a lifetime moments and turn them into timeless memories. Located in The Collective, our photo-studio provides photography services that narrate beautiful stories.

RETAIL BOUTIQUE

Operation hours is from 09.00 am – 09.00 pm

The Retail Boutique is located within The Collective. Browse around for the latest beach outfit, island souvenirs and other charming trinkets.

THE MOSQUE

The mosque is located conveniently in the resort nearby Café Umi and is open to all our Muslim guests and friends.

It is open 24 hours daily.

AIR CONDITIONING

Individual temperature control panels enable you to regulate the room temperature to your individual preference. All guest villa windows can be opened to enjoy the natural island breeze.

HOUSEKEEPING

In order to make your stay more comfortable, the Housekeeping Department will be pleased to provide you with any additional items you require during your stay, including extra pillows, blankets, coat hangers, towels and bathroom amenities. All Villas and Residences have a set complimentary facility to make your stay as comfortable as your home away from home. If you need anything at all, please feel free to contact your Island Curator for more details.

SECURITY IN YOUR ROOM

The entrance door lock in your room is fitted with an additional security bolt. This bolt is activated from inside your villa. It is recommended to use this feature whenever you are in your villa, especially upon retiring. Your room is also equipped with an in-villa safe along with instructions on how to use it. For any emergency, please call the Instant Service immediately. Please note that the Resort has no smoking policy in all villa.

CAFÉ UMI

Wake up and enjoy the first meal of the day with unobstructed views of the pristine beach. Inspired by natural, organic and sustainable international cuisine, Café Umi provides elevated comfort and classic favourites, with a Japanese accent and Teppanyaki interactive experience. This all-day dining restaurant offers a minimalistic buffet breakfast, complemented by the best pastries techniques from Europe.

LIGHTHOUSE

Begin the evening with a 360-degree view of the resort and the Indian Ocean on top of the lighthouse before you sit down to vibrant flavours crafted from the finest seasonal ingredients and seafood; where each dish is brought to life by the passion and expertise of our culinary team. For a more intimate setting, opt for a private table on the terrace or a candle-lit table on the beach at our signature restaurant.

FISH MARKET

With a unique “from sea to table” and interactive kitchen concept, guests will be able to select their own live seafood. The Fish Market blends the best Maldivian seafood with aromatic flavours from the South East Asia. Designed as a hub of connectivity and inspired by the port, this signature restaurant will provide picturesque sunset views.

THE RETREAT

An adults-only enclave perched overwater with stunning views of the lagoon, The Retreat is an ideal venue to spend your morning lazing by the pool with a curated cocktail to cool you down followed by a selection of sweet and savoury finger food paired with an exquisite selection of tea and end the day with sundowners or evening digestives of premium wines and cheese.

THE COLLECTIVE

The Collective is your all-day deli serving up Italian comfort and healthy foods and wood fired pizzas, complemented by our speciality coffees, craft beers and everything in between.

THE SUNSET BAR

Our signature bar offers the best sunset views on the island complemented by stylish and romantic ambiance with curated music throughout the evening.

POOL BAR

Swim up to the Pool Bar and sip your thirst-quenching cocktail while still frolicking in the warm water. Located by the main beach in front of the Café Umi, the Pool Bar is easily accessible from the restaurant.

EMERGENCY YOUR SAFETY

Your safety is of paramount interest to us. Please read the below information on emergency facilities and procedures. Please do not hesitate to contact the Instant Service should you have any further questions relating to your stay at InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort.

SPECIAL ASSISTANCE

To make special arrangements please advise the resort reception as soon as possible.

EMERGENCY ASSEMBLY POINT

The emergency assembly points are clearly marked as per the resort plan on the back of your guest villa door.

FIRE EVACUATION ALARM

• Stay calm and, if possible, put on your clothes and footwear

• Leave your villa, lock your door and take your villa key with you

• Follow the emergency signs

• Once outside, resort staff will direct you to the Fire Evacuation Point

IN THE EVENT OF A TSUNAMI

• After an earthquake in the region, be aware that a tsunami may follow. If you hear the siren, move away from the beach immediately as a measure of precaution.

• Follow instructions from Resort Staff whilst proceeding to the Assembly Point (please familiarise yourself with the emergency assembly point location).

• Life jackets are located in the wardrobe and should be worn following a siren. Do not leave the Assembly Point until informed by Resort Staff that it is safe to do so.

CHILDREN

Keep the family entertained with carefully designed children’s menus, fun amenities, children’s TV channels and activities. Games consoles and DVDs are available upon request. Planet Trekkers are haven for children and for kids under 4 years old, babysitting services will be available with an extra charge.
