Either the Arauco Classical Sauvignon Blanc which is a brilliant yellow-green colour wine with intense citrus aromas and delicate freshly cut grass nuances ending with a green apple fragrance. On the palate, the wine displays floral and citric flavors. Or Arauco Classical Cabernet Sauvignon which has an attractive ruby-red colour with delicate fruit aromas combined with touches of sweet aromas of cassis, vanilla and toffee. On the palate, the wine is light easy to drink with soft and ripe tannins complemented by a very long and nice ending. “One should always be drunk. That’s all that matters...But with what? BHANDINI At Bhandini, you can find the best authentic Indian flavor. This July, Chef would like to recommend items on the menu that you should endeavor to try. For the starter, sample either the mixed vegetable pakora which has a combination of potatoes, eggplant, onions and okra dipped in spicy gram flour and fried until golden or the sesame fried prawns which come covered in a spicy marinade drizzled with sesame seeds. “So often these days eating Indian food passes for spirituality. I don‘t meditate, I don‘t pray, but I eat two samosa‘s every day.” - Dan Bern Then for the main, piping hot from our traditional Tandoori charcoal oven, Chef recommends the mixed meat kebab sampler at only Kshs. 2,200. The platter has something for everyone, including traditional chicken tikka, fish tikka, mutton seekh kebab and tandoori prawns. Enjoy it on your own or to share! MAKUTI BAR At Makuti Bar, the days of the week are matched up with all our best offers. Relish the taste of the AFCON Makuti platter which has choma sausages and lamb ribs served with potato wedges. On Mondays you can enjoy our wines of the month with any meal, on Tuesdays the Absolut and Chivas cocktails go well with our DJ/VJ entertainment, on Wednesdays bring your friends for Big five draft beer and Makuti VJ/ DJ club mixes, then DJ/VJ and Bacardi cocktails on Thursdays and for ‘Thank goodness it’s Friday’, we have a delicious spicy lemon chicken to relish with Tanqueray 10 cocktails. Jacob Asiyo’s ensemble will be back to Makuti every Tuesday and Band IT live band will be back every Thursday after the 19th of July. No month lacks special days and this July we will celebrate Piña Colada Day with the rum, coconut and pineapple juice cocktails on the 10th and with shots for Tequila day on the 24th.
Sports Centre This July, Makuti will screen all the important sport events of the month, starting us off with: AFCON Kenya vs. Senegal on the 1st, FIFA Women‘s World Cup Semi-Final (day 1) on the 2nd, FIFA Women‘s World Cup Semi-Final (day 2) on the 3rd, FIFA Women‘s World Cup Semi-Final (3rd place) and AFCON round of 16 on the 6th, FIFA Women‘s World Cup Final on the 7th, AFCON round of 16 on the 8th, AFCON quarter finals (day 1) on the 10th, AFCON quarter finals (day 2) on the 11th, Tour de France on the 13th, the Wimbledon Final, Formula 1 - British Grand Prix and AFCON semi-finals are all on the 14th,
Then to round off the month: AFCON 3rd place on the 17th, the AFCON final on the 19th, Tour de France on the 27th and Formula 1 German Grand Prix on the 28th. Makuti Bar is the only Africa Cup of Nations fan zone to experience the fun and action of the 52 matches live from the giant screen.
