Dear Graduate Entry Student, Welcome to Imperial College School of Medicine, and congratulations on joining us all here at Imperial. My name is Steve Tran and I am very privileged to be taking a year out of my studies to run Imperial College School of Medicine Students’ Union (ICSMSU) this year. ICSMSU is the constituent union dedicated to represent and look after all medical and biomedical students. My role is to ensure that you’re fully supported throughout your years spent here, and that you have the best experience possible at Imperial! Within this envelope is your COMPLETE Freshers’ pack from ICSMSU, containing your guide to Freshers’ Fortnight 2013, lots of useful information about life at ICSM and some leaflets from a few of our own clubs and societies. You should also receive additional information from Imperial College Union, who you are also a member of and they will provide you with a full list of clubs & societies and other services/resources available to you at Imperial. GradMed Society I must state that our Medics’ Union operates slightly different to the many other medical unions or ‘MedSocs’ that you may have encountered previously. We cater for almost everything a medical student will ever require; one of our many arms that you will most definitely get involved with during your time here is our very own GradMed Society. As a Graduate Entry student, we know many of you have already ‘done’ Freshers’. Hence why the GradMed Society organises and tailors events to specifically cater for you. Of course, we welcome you to come along to all ICSM Freshers’ Fortnight events, but please read the Graduate Entry Handbook for their suggestions on what you may most enjoy!
