NICHOLAS WELLS ANTIQUES A 19TH CENTURY GUERIDON TABLE IN THE MANNER OF J.J CHAPUIS France, c. 1890 A 19th century gueridon centre table, the table top with a white marble inset within a pierced brass gallery, above the frieze with two opposing drawers and a band of inlaid lozenges, the whole raised on S curved legs with polished mounts and inlaid with brass trefoils and brass stringing, terminating in lion paw feet. The legs supporting a lower tier with matching brass gallery and mahogany surface. The design inspired by the work of JJ Chapuis. Height Diameter

A RARE REGENCY HUNT OR DRINKING TABLE England, c. 1820 The half round top with a removable central panel opening to a rotating double decanter trolley, the top with lift out flaps for extra extension and raised on fine quality fluted and tapering legs on large brass castors. With the central insert, this half round table is a spacious serving table or Side table for a dining room or Hall. This unusual design of table was intended to be used after a fox hunt, - (thus the name) the horseshoe shaped table would be positioned in front of a fireplace, the fire lit, the table could fit 10 comfortably to share two decanters of a spirits. When not in use, the central panel is inserted and the table simply becomes a side table.
