Wellen Park just launched this new joint program with an event that showcased the Venice Symphony, a shovel painting contest, and a panel from local arts organizations to get residents ready and engaged for what’s yet to come. “Through the Alliance’s partnership with Wellen Park, we’re excited to increase access to the arts in the southern part of the county and bring new, unique opportunities for people to enjoy the robust arts and cultural experiences that Sarasota County is known for,” says Shirley. And, Wellen Park has already begun the “Countdown to Downtown,” which will feature wine and dinner pairings with a performance by the Venice Symphony, lecture series, and visual arts components.

And, the Sarasota area’s commitment to the arts is vital as well. “A large part of why people choose to live in Sarasota County is because of the access to world-class performances and exhibitions, one-of-a-kind visual arts shows, educational programming, and family-friendly festivals and fairs, adds Shirley. And, the Arts and Cultural Alliance has a full list of events for year-round entertainment. From ballets to musicals, visual arts to jazz concerts, and so much more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Plus, there are local classes for both adults and kiddos, and date nights and girls nights for you to enjoy with your crew or spouse.
