Well its February and winter is just about out of here . The next time I type this letter we will be just about ready to head for Daytona. There are a lot of events popping up on the calender for the up coming riding season. One of them is one of our own Rally at the Rock! This event will take place June sixth through the eighth at Split Rock Resort in the Poconos. We’ve had great success with this event in the past and with the things we have planned and sponsors that we have on board, it looks like this event will be back and bigger then ever

It’s July, it’s hot, and its time to cool off with a putt. This ride is a nice gonna be a 100+ plus mile run out to Reading Pennsylvania to checkout a true classic, Reading Motorcycle Club’s 99th anniversary party. This gig is one not to be missed! These guys have been putting two wheels to the ground since 1911, that’s a long f***in’ time! Ya gotta figure with that many years around they definitely must have throwin a party down to a science (they do!) Gettin there takes you through some beautiful Pennsylvania countryside but that was only half the fun. Once there,food and merchandise vendors kept you occupied, at least a dozen live bands like “Last call” “axis” and a slammin Motley Crue cover band played through out the weekend,helicopter rides,a burnout pit, bike drag racing and signature RMC sh*thouse drags (ya just gotta see it to believe) tons of bikes to eyeball as well as several eye-poppin beauty pageant contests held throughout the weekend. If that wasn’t enuff just walkin the grounds and checking out all the campsites and seeing and talking to people that have been coming to this run for years will “sell” you on this event. Come check it out next year, but be warned its the 100th anniversary (better leave tomorrow!)

Vanessa is 24 years old and was born and raised in the Roanoke Valley. A country girl at heart, Vanessa has a deep love for the outdoors and enjoys hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, fishing, and camping. Melody’s Strawberry Margarita Pie Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups crushed pretzels 1/4 cup sugar 2/3 cup butter, melted 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 1/4 cup fresh lime juice 1/4 cup tequila 4 tablespoons triple sec 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, chopped 1 (12-ounce) container non-dairy whipped topping Red and yellow food coloring (optional) Directions: Combine crushed pretzels, butter and sugar together. Press into a 9-inch pie plate. Set aside. In a bowl, mix together the tequila, triple sec, condensed milk and lime. Pour half of the mixture into another bowl. February, 2014
Add strawberries and a few drops of red food coloring to one half. Fold in 1 cup of whipped topping. To the remaining half of tequila mixture, add just a drop or two of yellow food coloring and fold in 1 cup whipped topping. Spoon into crust, alternating the colors. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Serves 8.
Melody’s Valentines Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Makes 12 slices Ingredients: 1 1/2 Cups (18) Cream filled Cookies, crushed 2 Tbs. Margarine, Melted 32 oz Cream Cheese, Softened 1 1/4 Cup Sugar 3 large Eggs 1 Cup Sour Cream 1 tsp. Vanilla 6 oz Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips, melted 1/3 Cup Raspberry Preserves, Strained 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted Whipping Cream Directions: Combine crumbs and margarine; press onto bottom of 9-inch spring form pan. In a large bowl, combine 24 ounces of cream cheese and sugar, blending with an electric mixer. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in sour cream and vanilla. Pour mixture over crust. Combine remaining cream cheese and melted chocolate, blending well with mixer. Add Red Raspberry preserves; mix well. Drop dollops of chocolate cream cheese batter over plain cream cheese batter, do not swirl. Bake at 325 degrees F. for 1 hour and 25 29
minutes. Loosen cake from pan and cool before removing. Melt chocolate pieces. Dip a fork in the melted chocolate and go back and forth in a waving motion over cheesecake to make a line design. Chill. Garnish with whipping cream and fresh raspberries.
Cherry-O Cream Cheesecake Pie Ingredients: 1 graham cracker crust (either homemade or already prepared) 8 ounces cream cheese, softened 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1/3 cup lemon juice 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 can cherry pie filling, chilled Directions: Whip cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk and blend. Blend in Lemon lemon juice and vanilla extract. Pour into pie crust and chill until firm. Top with chilled cherry pie filling and chill for at least 2 hours.
Darlene’s Peanut Butter Cookies Submitted by: Darlene Brice, NJ. Ingredients: 1/2 C white sugar 1/2 C brown sugar 1/2 C shortening 1/2 C peanut butter 1 egg 1 1/4 C flour 3/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt Directions: Mix sugars, shortening, peanut butter and egg. Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Shape dough into balls and place on un-greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350°F until set but not hard, about 10 minutes. www.fastlanebiker.com

TheTheWhorunCares Committee had their annual toy run on a cold and windy Sunday December 8th, 2013. benefits the children of Saint Christopher’s Residential Treatment Center. Riders bring an unwrapped toy for a child then Santa,
his Elves, and the riders bring the collected toys to the center. This is the 28th year and each year gets better and better the generosity of the riders, sponsors, and the vendors makes this an event to look forward to. The riders gathered at the Sears parking lot in Hicksville, NY. They registered and awaited the kickstands up and then proceeded to the center with members of the Nassau County Police Department providing traffic control assuring all riders a safe ride. A lot of clubs were represented helmets off to them for supporting a great cause once again A lot of supporters were on hand with WBAB and Kickstart towing among them, providing donations and other support services – Archie from Kickstart towing helped a few of the riders that needed assistance. Even the WBAB van needed help with a nearly flat tire. After the run the riders joined the Who Cares committee at the after party The after party was held at the VFW hall on Broadway in Hicksville, NY. The Who Cares Committee went out of its way, as always, to provide hot coffee and a terrific meal to the returning riders - helmets off the Billy and the rest of the committee. There were raffles and drawings for some really great bike themed items and a 50/50 drawing as well. Although it was cold outside the committee made sure that the riders were warmly received and had plenty of activities. Musical entertainment was provided by The 231 Band and they were great - they’re local to long island and played to the very end – a shout out to them for making it a memorable event. Helmets off to all the riders that braved the cold and wind for this great cause I know that their efforts helped make the children’s Christmas better. Look forward to seeing you again next year!
