T

he Thousand Island River Run in Alexandria Bay, NY was once again a great experience and one heck of a good time especially for me, Nancy and the kids. We would like to shout out a huge THANKYOU to Mary Compeau and want her to know how proud we are to be the Media Sponsor for the second year in a row. We hope to be involved for many, many more! Read all about it and see the pictures inside this issue! We also had a great time at Lumpy’s BBQ bike fest with Modern Superstar and Tattoo Tony and my crew and friends. I spent a lot of time with Ty from Rockin’Roadhouse BBQ, riding around on the bikes, checking out the sights, and having a really enjoyable time. Thank you Ty and Eva for all the great hospitality all weekend! Please don’t forget August 13th at Ty’s other bar, The Boat Yard in P.A., one heck of a huge biker bash, attended by thousands each year for the last 12 years. Mark it off, see ad inside this issue. On September 3rd we have an all day bike bash event planned at Rockin’ Roadhouse with Tattoo Tony, Amy Nicoletto from L.A. Ink fame, The Marine Tribute Bike, Lamination Preservation’s motorcycle art work, B&M Performance, vendors, bands, BBQ, drink specials, tattoo show, bike show, bikini bike wash, and more to be announced. A Big Thanks to Howard Johnsons in Norwich N.Y., the official hotel of Fast Lane Biker NY while in town. Thanks Dana Meyers, you and your hotel staff take great care of us as always. The season is in full swing with events going on every day it seems and it has been a great summer so far. We’re looking forward to a great second half of the season. Have a great August and ride, party and live free. Remember as always to be safe in the process. Watch out on the roads. Make sure you spread the word by telling your local dealers and businesses to support your favorite magazine, as our supporters bring you the magazine each month.

New York’s Biggest, Best, Baddest Motorcycle Magazine!! Until next month... Keep your knees in the breeze!

A drunk in a bar pukes all over his own shirt, which was brand new before he came in. “Damn,” he says. “I puked on my shirt again. If the wife finds out, she’s gonna kill me.” “Not to worry,” says the bartender as he sticks a $20 bill in the drunk’s pocket. “Just tell her someone puked on you and gave you some cash to cover the cleaning bill.” So the drunk goes home and tells his wife about the guy who puked on him. She reaches into his pocket and finds two twenties. “Why are there two twenties?” she asks. The drunk replies, “Oh, yeah, he crapped in my pants, too.” ☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼ Bubba and Junior were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up. A woman walked by and asked what they were doing. “We’re supposed to find the height of the flagpole,” said Bubba, “but we don’t have a ladder.” The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts, and laid the pole down. Then she took a tape measure from her pocket, took a measurement and announced, “Eighteen feet, six inches,” and walked away. Junior shook his head and laughed. “Ain’t that just like a dumb blonde! We ask for the height, and she gives us the length!” ☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼ As a blonde crawls out of her wrecked car, the local sheriff asks her what happened. The blonde began, “It was the strangest thing! I looked up and saw a tree, so I swerved to the right. Then I saw another tree, so I swerved to left. Then there was another tree, and another and another ...” The sheriff thought for a minute and then said, “Mam ... I don’t know how to tell you this, but the only thing even resembling a tree on this road for thirty miles is your air freshener.” ☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼ On reaching his plane seat a man is surprised to see a parrot strapped in next to him. He asks the stewardess for a coffee where upon the parrot squawks “And get me a whisky you cow!” The stewardess, flustered, brings back a whisky for the parrot and forgets the coffee. When this omission is pointed out to her the parrot drains its glass and bawls “And get me another whisky you idiot”. Quite upset, the girl comes back shaking with another whisky but still no coffee. Unaccustomed to such slackness the man tries the parrot’s approach “I’ve asked you twice for a coffee, go and get it now or I’ll kick you”. The next moment, both he and the parrot have been wrenched up and thrown out of the emergency exit by two burly stewards. Plunging downwards the parrot turns to him and says “For someone who can’t fly, you complain too much!” 5

FAST LANE BIKER & LAMINATION PRESERVATION PRESENTS ‘BIKE NIGHT’ AT THE ROAD HOUSE GRILLE Albany, NY . June 30th, 2011 . Story by: Bill Clarke, Owner of Clarke Heating & Cooling Sponsored by Budweiser . JJ’s Cycle, Jack Daniels, Clarke Heating & Cooling Photos by Michelle & Fast Lane Frank

What a bike night it was! There were over 250 bikes, 35 plus cars and vans and so many people packing the lot! James, the owner of the Fuller Road House was all smiles as was everyone attending. Herb Carter Jr. and Bob Dempsey, the guitar duo known as “Smokin Herb” kept the vibe going outside. They will be at all the bike nights remaining! Meeting Tattoo Tony was inspiring. Everyone got to see his work and had a chance to taste his Hard Iced Teas which will be sold in NYS! I’m glad he’s a food connoisseur as me and we ordered him steak and a potato from J. Grants Smoke House which is on the premises. The man was hungry and we can’t let a celebrity fade away. Speaking of food, J. Grants ran out of food and propane! How

cool is that?! Also gracing us with her appearance was the one and only super model and singer Leah Jung. Let me tell you, God has given her beauty and an Angelic voice as she jammed with the Road House jam band. We were all mesmerized! The tattoo contest was judged by Tattoo Tony, Leah Jung and Fast Lane Tattoo and it was a hit. JJ Cycles performed a quick burn out, Brian and his family and friends from “Satan Cycles” showed their stuff. This is the place to be in Albany, folks, on the last Thursday of each month. And remember, Community Hospice of Albany County will be here for the rest of the bike nights! Bring your family, friends and bikes. Keeping the bars in the air and the rubber on the road till next time!

NEWROC HARLEY-DAVIDSON® ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE DAY PARTY & BIKINI BIKE WASH Story by Ana A . Pictures taken by 6 year old Nicholas Albate

Off to a busy start the Sunday of NewRoc H-D’s Annual Independence Day Party and Bikini Bike wash, the food was free and everybody was hungry! So it was just “Murphy’s Law” when the food line was the longest and the grill stopped working! Ouch! But the pain didn’t last long, a second grill was rolled out, more cooks stepped up to grill (thank you Heather, Matt and Andrew!). Even one of NewRoc’s favorite customers stepped up to the plate, literally to the plate – Thank You Chris Barros for dishing out sausage & peppers, burgers & dogs to the other NewRoc customers. You could have been hangin’ with your friends munching on chicken kebabs but instead you hung out with us, got greasy and singed in order to help us out! Thank you again!

Fast Lane Biker NY’s Newest New Roc Harley Event Photographer. A Big Thanks to Nicholas for all his help, we couldn’t have done it without him. Thanks Nicholas!!!

Over 100 bikes were washed by the Lovely Leslie, Awesome Amy and Marvelous Monica, our favorite Bike wash girls! What did the girls do on their break? They hijacked scooters and bicycles from the children who attended the event and rode them downhill for our amusement . It was cute and sexy at the same time! Check out the video on YouTube, search for NewRoc’s Downhill Bikini Bike Wash Girls. Later the girls washed 6 year old Nicholas’ bicycle during the bike wash, Nicholas waited his turn patiently in line with the motorcycles, the girls washed and posed for pictures and he even put money in the tip jar. If you missed it check out more pics at NRHD.com. Don’t miss the party next year, the grill is fixed, Chris Barros’ burns should be healed by then and the bikini bike wash girls have agreed to ride skateboards.

BACK IN NEW JERSEY & LAYING DOWN THE INK AS ONLY SHE CAN . AMY NICOLETTO The tattoo scene’s well known artist, Amy Nicoletto of reality T.V.’s L.A. Ink has come home to Jersey to work at “Under My Skin”, Tattoo Tony’s shop in Atlantic Highlands, N.J. I received a call from Tony a month or so ago telling me that Amy was coming to work at the shop. There are not many people of TV show fame that I want to meet or get Ink from, but Amy was the exception. I had seen L.A. Ink while flipping through the channels and wasn’t impressed by anyone, except one. Amy Nicoletto. Not only did I like her work, I also liked her real, up-front, I am who I am, take it or leave it Jersey attitude. That was refreshing especially because the show was filmed in L.A. and she was surrounded by fake everything. I made a note if we ever crossed paths; I wanted to get work from her. I asked Tony to make sure I was her first appointment and thanks to him I was # 1. I had a clipping of Aztec art and stone work they found circa 900-1200 A.D, The one I liked was the Under World God, Xolotl, and it was in the shape of a dog’s head. I ripped it out of a National Geographic magazine 8-9 years ago, and was waiting for the right person to come along and ink me up. Amy arrived at the shop around 1pm with her son Cameron and his cousin. She had just come from a two week stint in Long Island. Tony, Amy, Jersey Jay and I talked for a bit and then it was time to get down to business. I showed Amy my clipping and she went to work. It was a slightly different version of the God but needless to say, she knew what I wanted. She drew it out on the light board, drew in the alterations, printed out the stencil and shaved my hairy Italian calf, and

FA S T L A N E B I K E R

we were ready to rock and roll. Tony’s shop is always buzzing, music going, people calling and coming in, and chairs filled with people getting ink. On this day though, I had Amy Nicoletto, laying the ink down and crafting her art to make the underworld God, come to Life right there on my calf. I interviewed Amy a little as she slowly brought life to my tattoo. She was born in southwest New Jersey and from an early age exhibited artistic talent. She started tattooing a little later than most, in her early twenties and knew from that point on, tattooing was her life. She cut her teeth at Hot Rod Tattoo in A.C and really made her bones there. Amy has never drank or done drugs. Ever. Which is a real oddity among tattoo artists, but makes her a natural fit at “Under My Skin”, as Tattoo Tony will not tolerate any of that from his tattoo artists. They both share the seriousness of tattooing and respect for the trade. Amy likes to use a rotor machine to shade, which makes it nice and quiet for a while as she works the shading in on your tattoo. It was a real pleasure to get to know her and to watch as she worked her craft. She is a great person and has no airs about her. She also has a great sense of style and I told her I saw a clothing line in her future. I think that sums up alot about her; her tattooing, her clothing style and her personality. She is who she is and there is NO one like her. Remember to call “Under My Skin Tattoo Studio” in Atlantic Highlands, N.J. to schedule Tattoo Work from Amy Nicoletto or Tattoo Tony, Two of Today’s best Tattoo artist. 73 Memorial Pkwy, Atlantic Highlands, NJ 07716, Tel: + 1 732 872 4092, Email: info@undermyskintat2.com.

TATTOO TONY AT CRAZY BILLY’S DEER PARK LIQUORS

Taste Testing and Bottle Signing . Sponsored by Wyld Chyld Tattoo & Café, Fast Lane Biker NY After Party Meet and Greet hosted by Trashed M.C, sponsored by Fast Lane Biker NY, ReNU Powder Coating and L.I. Old School Radio . July 2nd, 2011 We had Tony’s Hard Iced Tea, The Marine Tribute Bike, Fast Lane Biker NY, a film crew, Tattoo Tony himself and a bunch of great people that came out to have fun, taste test and have their bottles signed by Tony. It was a great afternoon at Crazy’s Billy’s in Deer Park on the 4th of July holiday weekend. The signing went off without a hitch and all involved at a blast. At 6pm it was time to pack into the limo and head over to Trashed M.C.’s clubhouse for an after party and meet and greet. The band Iron Cobra rocked the house all night long and even got Tony up to sing! They just blew the place away with hit after hit. It was the best band I have ever seen out and the best band I’ve ever booked. You would be crazy not to have these guys play at your event or bar. Everyone enjoyed the colossal sixfoot subs, hot dogs and burgers, and the two supreme gift baskets from Tony were auctioned off to Gerry and one of the Cycle Lords and included two bottles of the Iced Tea, a gift certificate, a signed 8x10, and many more goodies. The night was fun and fantastic all around! I have to personally thank Tattoo Tony for “having the faith”, Red, and the rest of Trashed M.C. for letting us have the event at their house. Gerry from ReNU, you are always there my friend, Archie from Kick Start Towing- always with me till the end, Tom Mele and LJ James for sponsoring and the on-air mentions, Paul and Iron Cobra for getting it done and rocking the place to the ground, The Cycle Lords for coming out from up state, and Hellbent Choppers for letting us rock the night away! …..the most well known ride for helping the smallest members of our community—Babies! Hundreds of thousands are born with birth defects and more than half a million arrive prematurely every year in the U.S. This translates to more than 30,000 babies that arrive too soon each year in New York State and more than 2,000, right here in Central New York. Many babies die. For others, it can mean a lifetime of disability. Bikers for Babies® is one of the most important ways we have of ensuring that we can continue our research and programs to fight premature birth and other threats to our babies’ health. Funds raised by events like this currently support active mission investments in the Central New York Division that have a direct impact on the lives of local families.

The March of Dimes, our volunteer leadership, our board, our start site coordinators and our staff invite you to be part of our 19th Annual Bikers for Babies on August 6, 2011. There are 10 different start sites to choose from and all of them converge at Jamesville Beach where you will be able to enjoy Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Gianelli Sausage and assorted beverages . Lively music will be provided by Rhythm Method. Sponsor forms are being printed soon and the website to register online will be ready May 15, 2011. Just click on www.bikersforbabies.org to see the starting locations and times for registration and other ride information. If you have any questions, comments or need information on additional ways you can help, please call us at (315) 463-0700, (800) 244-9255 or visit us at www.marchofdimes.com/ny. Thanks to your continuing efforts, one day every family will know the joy of a healthy baby. See you August 6, 2011!

ROCKIN’ ROADHOUSE BBQ Mt. Upton, NY . by: Fast Lane Frank

“Bikers aren’t just welcome at my bars, they are preferred.” - Ty, Owner Rockin’ Roadhouse BBQ That statement speaks volumes about the owner of the Rockin’ Roadhouse and his other bar in Lehighton. P.A. called the Boat Yard. We all see the signs these days that read “Biker owned and operated” but many times it seems they just want the money, and are not true bikers. Not so with TY and his place. He welcomes them and prefers them. Ty has been in the industry for 18 years and it shows. He knows what people want and how to give it to them. Rockin’ Roadhouse is truly a bikers’ paradise, sitting right on Route 8 in Mt. Upton, in beautiful upstate NY. It has a huge parking lot, large deck to hang and kick back, a big bar inside with tables, pool table, fire place, many flat screen T.V’s and a great menu for the hungry folks. It also has a motel right on the premises. The rooms are more than accommodating, and as Ty said, he’s really not looking to make money on the rooms; he just wants to give his patrons a place to spend the night especially if some of them have a little too much fun. What else could you want? It’s a year-round haven that also has trails and is snowmobile friendly during the winter months. The place is famous for its wing night on Thursday and people say the burgers are the best they’ve ever had, hands down. The Wednesday bike night is now hosting at least 150 or more motorcycles. He gives away half a chicken, sides, and Harley Gift Cards, and to top it off, Fast Lane Biker NY is a proud sponsor of it. On Thursday July 14th I had an opportunity to visit with Ty and enjoy a few Sailor Jerry rum and cokes. (Boy, were they good!) We hung out until the wee hours and I was given a key to one of the motel rooms and enjoyed a great night’s sleep. So convenient! The next morning I received a call from Tom Mele with some great news! Stay tuned to find out what made my day! (Thanks Tom!) I showered and changed and saw Ty inside the bar at 10am, he had a hot coffee waiting for me and a key to a sweet shovel head! Off to breakfast we rode! We took a nice 30 minute ride up the road, stopped at a little breakfast café and spoke about plans for the upcoming party on September 3rd. Details about that bash are in this issue! Check it out! After a beautiful ride back to the bar, I waited for Tony and Donny to arrive so we could head into Norwich together, but we were eager to get back to the Roadhouse, which we did around 6:30 and we had a great time hanging out, partying, and watching Tony tattoo all night. Needless to say, we didn’t get much sleep before our big day, but it was all well worth it. I spent a lot of time at Rockin’ Roadhouse and had an absolute blast with Ty and his crew. I strongly recommend paying a visit. Whether you’re local or looking for a great destination to ride to, make it the Rockin’ Roadhouse. You will be thrilled that you did! Tell Ty I sent you, and ask him to show you his Pan Head.

One of these things is not like the other: 1. Drawing in a sketch pad. 2. Illustrating an idea onto paper. 3. Crayon and construction paper art. 4. Designing a tattoo. The topic I’m “drawing” attention to this month is the option of having your artistic friend design a tattoo for you, as opposed to having the tattoo drawn by the tattooist. Sure, I understand that your cousin took art classes in college and you’re proud, or maybe it somehow deepens the significance of the tattoo if your sister drew it, but you need to consider a few other things. Being a tattoo artist is not simply possessing the skill to render a design onto skin. They are (usually) actual artists. They have learned how to use the curves of the body to work with the lines of the drawing. It is a learned skill to master how small the detail can be, how spaced the lines must be from each other to accommodate potential blurring as the skin ages. All kinds of specifics that wouldn’t cross the mind of your buddy who’s an amazing pinstriper. My advice? Bring your drawing and ask the artist you’ve selected to rework it. I personally believe they put a little extra love into the piece if they had a hand in creating it. So, unless your arm happens to have the same texture as a highway underpass, your graffiti-artist coworker isn’t the best choice to draw up your sleeve. Just a guess. However, if your tattooer looks at it and says it’s perfect as is, then maybe you should tell your uncle Bobby the airbrush aficionado that he should seek an apprenticeship! Show me the tattoo you or your friend drew, visit www.leahjung.com. 35

THE THOUSAND ISLANDS RIVER RUN Alexandria Bay, NY . June 24th-26th, 2011 . By Fast Lane Frank My family and I decided to make this wonderful event a “working” vacation this year. We left Friday, hitting the road early because, as anyone with 5 or 6 year old kids knows, stopping many, many times is inevitable. We arrived at noon on Friday, went to the Pavilion to set up, and happily greeted our friends B&M Performance, Vince Doll from Redneck Engineering, Debbie and John Landers, Pat Briggs from County Line Choppers, Ben Rabin, John Hodges, Shane Gatto, Scott and Michelle from Lamination Preservation, Caskinette’s Throttle shop, Satan’s Cycles and many more. For the second year in a row, we stayed at the beautiful Riveredge Hotel which has the most spectacular view since it is surrounded on three sides by water. There is an indoor pool and an outdoor pool with a cute little tiki bar, and of course their own dock for boaters to tie up to. After checking in we headed back over to the Pavilion and helped our buddy Larry with his Marine Tribute Bike unpack and set up. The view from the Pavilion overlooking the St. Lawrence River is breathtaking and by far, the best view of any event I have ever been to. When it was time to grab some dinner we chose a terrific place on the water called Coleman’s Dock of the Bay, which had the most savory baby back barbecued ribs and mouthwatering chicken entrees you can imagine! We could smell the ribs and smoked meat wafting through the air. Nancy ordered roasted clams and some fall-off-the- bone ribs as well, the kids got huge burgers from the kids’ menu which were delicious as well, and a couple of Margaritas found their way over to our table and were absolutely delectable. The place was fantastic, the food phenomenal, and a happy, helpful, smiling staff. I had to walk over and compliment the owners, Barb and Paul Coleman and tell them what a great place it was. They actually were so pleased to hear it that they gave us an incredibly generous

FA S T L A N E B I K E R

gift certificate to use whenever we decided to come back which we promptly did the next day for lunch. The food was so good we were already planning our return the next day! We brought all of our friends the next afternoon and ate until we couldn’t eat any more! We were stuffed. Thank you Barb and the entire Coleman’s Staff! You have a great place with a great, upbeat atmosphere and we can’t wait to make another visit for those ribs! See you soon! We held our annual Miss Fast Lane Biker contest at The Downtown Bar and as always it was a huge hit. With 11 lovely girls competing to win the title, the crowd was riled up and rowdy and having a blast watching the final two girls dance on stage for cheers and applause, (the deciding factor). It was a close call but in the end the winner was beautiful Kylie S from Alex Bay, N.Y. who won the title of Miss Fast Lane NY, a professional photo shoot and cover of an upcoming issue of the magazine, and of course, bragging rights. After the contest we all went out onto Main St. and had a great time doing the pub crawl in a town with the best atmosphere and attitude any waterfront town could have. People just cut loose and enjoyed themselves. The Thousand Islands River Run has earned quite a reputation as the premier event in New York, if not the entire east coast. It gets bigger and bigger each year as word spreads. I haven’t met one person who didn’t love this incredible event. I want to Thank Mary C once again for all of the effort she puts into making it such a great and memorable event. Don’t forget Alex Bay will host the 2012 H.O.G rally and we plan on being fully involved in that as well.

The jet is a threaded restrictive nozzle that allows for sizing the fuel mixture as it enters the venturi. The throttle valve (can be a slide, butterfly or Keihen CV: cylindrical valve) regulates air flow to the venturi intake side, allow- Idle to 1/4 piston: Idle mixture screw and low speed jet 1/4 to 3/4 piston: Jet needle, needle jet and piston spring ing for overall control of the mixture into the engine. This describes a VERY basic carburetor, which would be 3/4 to open piston: Main jet able to provide an ALMOST proportional air flow to RPM ratio. The equivalent would be a carburetor with only a main jet circuit. Due to Mikuni Slide: fluid dynamics this not quite proportional flow would result in an over Idle to 1/4 slide: Air screw and pilot jet rich condition as RPM increased. Subsequently, additional metering 1/16 to 1/4 slide: Needle jet 1/8 to 3/4 slide: Jet needle circuits are added to provide for more precise mixture control. There are 3 main types of carburetor designs; slide, but- 3/4 to open slide: Main jet terfly and constant vacuum (or constant velocity). Each has advantages and disadvantages, but all can be made to perform satisfac- S&S Butterfly: Idle to 3000 RPM: Idle mixture screw and intermediate jet torily by using the correct tuning procedure. The slide or flat slide design has no throttle plate, and 2500 to redline: Main jet and main air bleed works as a variable venturi by altering the volume of the flow chamber as the slide is raised and lowered. This keeps air velocity high, Modified S&S (with single Thunder Jet): resulting in strong signal. Examples of this type are many of the Idle to 3000 RPM: Idle mixture screw, int. jet and int. air bleed 2500 to redline: Main jet and main air bleed Mikuni products. LUMPY’S BBQ BIKE FEST

Norwich Area, NY . Sponsored by Fast Lane Biker NY Featuring Tattoo Tony, Modern Superstar, The Marine Tribute Bike, Lamination Preservation, B&M Performance, and Ben Rabin Law Firm. Pictures by Melodie Rogers and Fast Lane Frank

The day started out with some coffee and breakfast at Denny’s at the Norwich Howard Johnson’s for Tattoo Tony, Donny, Larry and me. Scott and Michelle needed more rest before the show. We spoke about the previous night’s tattooing marathon at Ty’s place that went on until the wee hour of 2:30am. We finished breakfast revitalized and ready to party. We arrived at Lumpy’s at 9am and prepared for a long day of fun and good friends. Tony had tattoos scheduled from 10am-6pm and Modern Superstar was to hit the stage at 6:30pm. The BBQ was on, the vendors set up, and Tony was slinging ink. The bikes rolled in while Brian Golden’s Band rocked the house all day to warm up the crowd for Modern Super Star, and boy did they rock! Now, let me explain why it was quite a surprise to hear him like that on stage. The first time I met Brian Golden was at Howard Johnson in Norwich and then again over at Gilligan’s for the bike night. He was writing an article for the Evening Star Newspaper. He seemed like a good guy but a little quiet and even shy. He was very nice and even let me reprint the story about the Gilligan’s bike night, which was VERY cool of him. That was then, fast forward to this particular evening…. the man is a Blues singing and playing machine. I couldn’t believe it! He played and sang like he was Muddy Waters or John Lee Hooker and blew the place away with that Blues Rock. When I bought a CD titled ‘Robbing the Blind’ from him after the show he said it was his other band called Master Thieves. Robbing the Blind is one of the best CD’s I’ve heard in long time. As Tony scratched out one tattoo after another you could see that the man loves his art and the interaction with new people. When Modern Superstar took the stage at 6:30pm they brought the house down! During a few of the songs Tony was invited up to sing Devil’s Playground, We All Die Young and Look what the Cat Dragged In and the place was on its feet. If you want to see some excellent video of Tony singing with the band you can relive the experience on our Face Book page FLBNY. Enjoy! Special Thanks to Tattoo Tony and Modern superstar. Stay tuned!!...

Welcome to

MODERN SUPERSTAR!

Modern Superstar, A modern rock band by t’daze standards featuring national recording artists Ryche Green and Jamie Fletcher. Ryche and Jamie had replaced members and spent years in bands who reached some success in their heyday. Initially it all started out with excitement, things were new and being on the road had its advantages. The fans, the traveling, the live performances were everything that was good. Everything else, was everything else. While in Europe on tour together, both musicians began to build a solid friendship and discuss plans for a new project and what they wanted to do with their music instead of finishing out someone else’s pipe dreams. Being in control of their own music careers and letting the world hear what they had to offer was where it was at for them. The solid foundation of any band is having well written songs that can be performed both in the studio and live on stage. The very next thing is having a band that can execute these traits. Having the firm belief that they already possessed many pieces of the puzzle, Ryche and Jamie spent the

last 2 years formulating, creating and writing what is to be their debut release Under My Skin. Having spent years in their respective bands gave the two musicians invaluable knowledge. Taking the best from their past experiences and add in the fact that the two had met so many industry people and made numerous contacts over time, that Modern Superstar has become a quick reality and continues to move forward on a path not bound by limitations. Ryche and Jamie have stepped “outside of the box” to create what they feel is an ultimate rock n’ roll sound. Melodies, hooks, guitars and a sound not outdated is what Modern Superstar is all about. Modern Superstar doesn’t recreate the wheel, only combined the creative and musical talents of the musicians involved with the best parts of their rock n’ roll influences, blended them together and thrust them in today’s musical environment.
