The first Summer Cup FIS Ski jumping in Romania attracted thousands of spectators who were thrilled by the developments of the ski flyers. The competition was won by Slovenian Jure Sinkovec. The podium was completed by the czech Lukas Hlava and Robert Kranjec of Slovenia. 72.5 meters is the new jump record, set by Jure Sinkovec.

New hopes of Romania In total, 33 athletes from nine countries participated on the trampoline K64 (HS71) in ski jumping center at RâĹ&#x;nov. The main jumpers were the Austrian Thomas Morgenstern and czech and Roman Koudelka

The competition marked the official opening of the ski jumping center at RâĹ&#x;nov, the first such center in Romania and South-East Europe built in international standards.

Important investment The contest was organized by the Romanian Ski Biathlon Federation. “This day marks a milestone in the history of ski jumping in Romania and is a testament to how a public-private partnership can work successfully. OMV investments in building the ski jumping center is the largest private investment by 1990 in winter sports, in Romania. Without this investment, and without the support by the Râşnov City, we wouldn’t be here today, honored by the presence of world champions and Olympic athletes who competed with Romanian athletes, in the first Summer Cup FIS Ski jumping in our country,” said Gaspar Puiu, General Secretary of the Romanian Ski Biathlon Federation.

In this competition nine athletes jumped from Romania, four from Austria, six of the Czech Republic, two from Slovenia, four Dutch, one Bulgarian, two from Belarus, Ukraine and one of Hungary. The nine Romanian athletes: Remus Tudor (12th), Szilveszter Kozma (14th), Valentin Tatu (16th), Julian Piteﾃ･ (19th), Eduard Torok (No. 23), Stephen Blog (No. 26), Adrian Vornicu (# 27), Sorin Mitrofan (No. 30) and Alexander Mocﾄハiﾅ｣a (No. 32) have been acclaimed by thousands of spectators present.

I felt the same atmosphere as the World Cup in terms of organization, media and public interest. Romanian athletes are young and in some years they will have very good results. It takes hard work and support by their parents. Of course it is needed a basis here at Râşnov” said Thomas Morgenstern.
Morgenstern, excited about conditions in Râşnov: At the event the multiple Olympic champion, World and winner of World Cup and Four Hills tournament, Thomas Morgenstern was present. “This is the third time since 2007 when I come in Romania and I’m impressed by what happened during these five years. It was an honor for me to take part in this competition.

The third edition of Red Bull Cup Smaranda Order, the skydiving competition - precision landing, raised, in the final, seven of the best Romanian women paratroopers.

Besides the competition show, those present had other surprises offeres by the Romanian Air Club - demonstration of landing at the fixed point of the Skydiving World Junior Champion - Alexandru Nicolau, Red Bull athlete, the presence of overlapping national team (Relative Work on dome) , and a demonstration of the Aero club’s acrobatics coaches from Romania.

Each of the seven competing women conducted 3 jumps each, so that the final score of jumps should be accounted for.

The event was occasioned by the celebration of 115 years since the birth of Smaranda Brăescu (May 21, 1897), prominent figure of the aeronautics world, Romania’s first female parachutist, multiple national champion and world record holder.

I need to say only this: It is as exciting, terrifying, fascinating and incredible as you can imagine and more. Do not think before you jump, because you’ll have unnecessary emotions. Tell yourself: “Wow! Today I jumped with the parachute! What’s next? “.

Of course you think it sounds scary, but when the plane door’s opens, when you no longer understand yourself but by signs, when you see your legs hanging down to 4000 meters above the earth, when you look in the distance and see a curved horizon line and, for the first time you understand the spherical Earth, you say only this: “Where have I lived till now?”

SIMONA STAN FOLLOWING SMARANDA BRAESCU
With a score of 2 cm, Simona Stan, won the title of Red Bull Smaranda Order. The winner is a member of the National Skydiving Lot and belongs to Satu Mare’s Aero Club. Simona is a multiple national champion, has over 3500 jumps and last year took 6th place at the World Cup Skydiving – Seniors, at Bled.

Second place was occupied by Stealiana Popa (winner of the first edition Red Bull Smaranda Order), with a score of 7 cm. She is part of the Brasoveanca’s National Skydiving Lot and already has over 1,600 jumps to her credit, in the nine years since she practice parachuting. Steliana boasts with the title of junior’s national champion and and the senior’s vice national champion.

44 Third place was occupied by Andreea Padurean (winner of the second edition of Red Bull Smaranda Order), with a score of 8 cm. She is a member of the national team and has 700 parachute jumps to her credit and parachuting practice of 6 years.

Balkan Dirt Masters 2012 is over. For one week Prorider and the Romanian mountainboarders dug up the track for the competition. It was hard, sometimes annoying but the result was more than satisfying. I should know I was one of the riders who helped build it.

At the end of the week our guests started to show up in our camp in Piatra Neamt. Slowly it started to look less like a competition and more like a field trip with friends. After a night of catching up with the riders Balkan Dirt Masters went into full gear.

The next day everyone was at the top of the slope gearing up, training and getting used to that tight turn that we set up for downhill. First was downhill. Fast is the best word to describe it. The first half of the track required split second reaction just to stand on your board. The second was leaner but the grass made you lose grip on tight turns. We had our fair amount of falls bruises and scratches. The worst injury was a broken arm. In my opinion downhill was the most exciting one to watch.

Next was boarder cross. A 2 versus 2 race to decide the winner. You could even call it an endurance race, because the winner would have to climb up the hill to face his next challenger.

And last was freestyle. Not many competitors here. More signed up but by this time riders who gave it their all competing in 2 races could barely carry their boards. This is where I signed up.

With a massive headache and nausea caused by heat stroke I put on my helmet took a deep breath and climbed up the hill.

First trick is always a regular jump to see how you fare. Then the stylish moves come: jumps, grabs, spins, flips. Even though we were only 4 competing in this category we put on a good show.

Mountainboarding isn’t about the moves and the skills. It’s about having a good time, meeting new people, riding new places.

I struggled to keep up with the experience and skill of the French riders but the years of riding and work they put in mountainboarding showed.

Night was setting in when the riders, guests and fans reached the award ceremony area.
68 Everybody was tired and satisfied. Medals were granted to the winners, and the group pictures preserved a great memory. We all went to eat and have a chat and a few laughs at the restaurant.Then we continued the party until late at night, only to wake up the next day for a swim in the pool.
