“[The drivers] are going to do what they want,” said Supervisor Dale“Wawa’sHassler.formula has been to discourage [tractor trailers] as best we can,” said Cogan. He added that there will be ample room for tractor trailers to exit the property once drivers realize there is no parking to prevent them from becoming stuck. Three vehicle entries are pro posed for the property: a signal ized access to the west of the property, a shared access road to the south, and an entrance on

There will be no parking for tractor trailers, which concerns supervisors. With multiple near by warehouses, supervisors asked how engineers will keep tractor trailers from entering the prop erty. Without parking, supervi sors worried that tractor trailers would park on a nearby access road.John Cogan of Cedar Crest Chestnut Development LP, the developers of the Wawa, said the Wawa corporation does not allow tractor trailers on the property. “Wawa,” he added, “is not a truckWawastop.”is not a truck stop.

athletes and teammates who are living donors, organ transplant recipients, and bone marrow, cor nea and tissue transplant recipi ents. The goal of the games is to show others that those who have received a transplant can live an active life and honor the selfless decisions of those who saved their lives by becoming organ donors. Al and Vicki were among the more than 100 total attendees from the region, which includes Delaware, southern New Jersey and the eastern half of Pennsyl vania. They represented the area when Team Philadelphia traveled to San Diego, California and par ticipated in the games from July 29-August 3. The Olympic-style competition included sports such as track and field, swimming, basketball and more. The team was filled with members of all ages and abilities, ranging from young children to adults. Team Philly was able to come home with medals in all age groups. Members of Team Phila

By KERI DevelopersLINDENMUTHhaveproposed a 24-hour Wawa gas station and convenience store at Savage Road and Route 329. During the Allen Township Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, August 23, supervisors met with engineers, developers, and lawyers to review the proposed sketch plan and ad dress their concerns, including tractor trailers and traffic flow. The Wawa will sit at the south west corner of Savage Road and Route 329. The convenience store will be 6,000 square feet with customer entrances to the front and back of the building. Meanwhile, the fueling canopy will be 7,000 square feet. There will be eight fueling pumps onsite with 16 positions and 57 parking spots for passenger vehicles.

There will be no diesel fueling pumps, and the canopy is not tall enough to fit tractor trailers.

Ancient Rome had its own ver sion of “the Gospel” (good news). However, this wasn’t everyone’s idea of good news. For many it was an unusual reality, enforced by the heavy hand of the emper or’s executions. We know good news as God’s word and we share it with one another; we live it and we go to church to get the good news from our pastor and we then share the good news. We wonder often if the people are re ally listening and living it all the time, or just on Sundays. Can the pastor really tell if people are listening and are really a Chris tian? Perhaps by their responses or eye contact? Are people just showing up by habit? How many people read their Bible and pray daily? Do they talk to God? Do they only talk to Him when something happens (Colossians 2:6-7)? It’s a shame some people

Last month, supervisors al lowed developers of the property to conduct overnight concrete pours three days a week through the end of August. Supervisors said as long as this continues, they have no problem allowing work to continue. Finally, supervisors have put together a temporary parks com mittee. This committee, com posed of four residents and two supervisors, will review similar ordinances from neighboring municipalities, discuss the make up and terms of the committee, and prepare steps to establish an ordinance that would make this temporary committee perma nent. play church- they never really come to know God as their Sav ior. Ungodly people are always ready to give believers advice. We need God’s wisdom to set our selves apart from their thinking and yet stay connected enough to share God’s message of hope with them (James 1:2-12).

A church is a fellowship of be lievers in Christ (Dem. 31:12). We are to be one body, the body of Christ. We break bread togeth er at communion. The blood and broken body of Christ has brought us together in fellow ship in Him (Corinthians 5:7,8).

The Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet at the Northampton Banquet and Events Center at 1601 Laubach Ave., Northampton on Wednesday, September 14. Doors will open at 11 a.m. The speaker will be Gary Schall from the AARP Speaker’s Bureau. He will be speaking on downsizing and decluttering. All members are cordially invited to attend. We welcome any new members to visit or join. Trips will be on display at the meeting where sign ups can be made. Information can also be obtained by calling Sharon at 610-262-9182. We ask members to bring their favorite baked goods to share.

A large congregation is of little value if Ichabod is written over doors of the church. Numbers are not so important as is divine blessing. Some people feel church rules are made by members. As we read the Bible we study God’s word which will guide and direct us to what we should do. But many of the rules the church has are in the Bible. However, one argumentative side is, why don’t they have a list about not being arrogant, insensitive, and critical? Our commitment is to love God and that will help us to grow a strong church. One girl told her parents, “I have my own church!” And she was asked to play the piano in her church. We ask how can we use our gift God has given us to glorify God. God’s given gifts are meant to be used to serve one another and to glorify God. In Jesus, be lievers are made “children of God through faith in Him” (Galatians 3:26). We’re adopted by God and became His sons and daughters (Gal. 4:5). As God’s adopted chil dren, we receive the Spirit of His son, and we all call God “Father” (Gal. 4:6) and coheirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). We are members of family of God. What a preach er Apostle Paul was; he states that it is God’s plan that a preacher of the gospel should live by the gospel. Paul preached because he loved to preach. Paul explained in a letter to the Romans- the gos pel was “the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:6). Billy Sunday said preaching the gospel was like shaking up a barrel of molasses, and then pull ing the bung out (1 Corinthians 9:16-18). The only message of hope is the cross. The only hope of salvation and forgiveness of sin is the cross. So its message will never grow old or become power less. Oratory and great preaching can never supplant the need and power of the Holy Spirit. We need His presence and ministry more than we need advertising, eloquence, entertaining music, or human wisdom. Where the Holy Spirit is, power is. Where is not, power is lacking (Corinthians 2:5). Party politics has no place among Christians. There are too many political Christians who can see dry with one eye, and wet with the other. It never works. We have only one Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Attend church faithfully.annualpet parade. The crowd walked down Cen ter Street, led by Mayor Lance Colondo and Library Director Holly Bennett. Mayor Colondo walked Mrs. Bennett’s grey and white Sheep-a-Doodle, Percy. They were followed by a joyful crowd of children and adults of all ages, some pushing strollers, and a menagerie of pets of all stripes. A friendly police escort from the Nazareth Police De partment ensured a safe stroll through the town. “I thought the pet parade was a great experience!” said chicken owner and library patron Christa Snyder who pulled Happy Feet (a Columbian Wine Dot) and Elsa (a Silver Laced Wing Dot) in a wagon. “I learned about people in my community who I had no idea about. We were super excit ed to see all the animals and the otherWhilechickens!”the parade-goers marched, they sang and kept the beat with egg shakers. The crowd made its way to the Cir cle, marching around it and then turning onto Main Street. At the parade’s end at the YMCA park ing lot, the group was greeted by the Fidelity Bank Ice Cream Truck. The parade-goers were treated to popsicles, ice cream, and backpacks for the children. “I liked the pet parade a lot. I really liked the ice cream at the end and seeing my friends with their pets!” said 8-year-old Nazareth Borough resident Evan Dorn, whose chicken pecked at the parking lot asphalt. Evan’s mother Jackie Dorn said that her kids have been looking forward to the pet parade since last sum mer.“The pet parade is a great op portunity to connect our com munity through our love of our pets,” said Mrs. Bennett. “We are grateful for the support of Mayor Colondo, the Nazareth Police Department, and the generosity of Fidelity Bank.” For more information or ques tions about the library’s pet pa rade, contact Holly Bennett you610-759-4932.theofgramsFurtherhbennett@nazarethlibrary.org.atdetailsaboutallproattheMemorialLibraryNazarethcanbefoundonlibrary’swebsiteorbycallingSeeyouatthelibrary,andseenextyearatthepetparade.
