The budget will be delivered to council before the end of the month. Council President Mark Saginario called the budget the “most detailed” in years. In other news, Councilman Hesch was appointed as liaison to the Monocacy Creek Watershed Association. He has spent time attending their meetings and learning about ways the borough can prevent erosion and get MS4 credits.

Council thanked Hesch for bringing awareness to the Monocacy. “The stream is an asset to the borough that we have overlooked,” said Councilwoman Bear-Heckman. “The stream is the whole reason Bath is here.” Finally, Borough Manager Brad Flynn reiterated that the Quality of Life ordinance prohibits residents from blowing grass clippings into the street and open burning. If caught, residents face fines of up to $300. “If you are given a ticket, there is a process,” he said, adding that an upset resident became physical with a borough employee after receiving a ticket for a violation. “Do not take matters into your

The local committee on the Edelman Mill marker were Chairman William Thomas of Northampton and Lovin Krack of Kreidersville. The committee was composed of 34 members. Another marker is located on the bank of the Hokendauqua Creek on Route 329 in Allen Township. The deed for the site - 20 $22999 was presented by Jacob K. Levan, a trustee of the LeVan Park Association. The marker unveiling was by Kathleen Nace Laubach of Northampton. The chairman of the local committee was Henry A. Miller, (remember Miller’s Dept. Store on Main Street?) Vice Chairman Edgar C. Nagle and secretary Leon D. Schwartz. The committee had 34 members. The 329 marker remembers the Indian town of Hokendauqua and Indian Chief Lappawinzo and Tishcohan. the phone. When the issue came to a vote, Councilmen Pristash, Gerhringer, Kenneth Hall, and Keith Piescienski voted for the ban. Councilmen McHale, Anthony Lopsinzski, Sr., and Anthony Lopsonzski, Jr. voted against.

“Any kind of communication... is a good thing to have,” said Lopsonzski, Sr. “I find it very, very disturbing that this council would prohibit an individual who wants to take time out of his vacation...to call into a council meeting...so that the individual stays informed,” said McHale. Telecommunications will be allowed in emergency situations. In other news, council voted unanimously in favor of holding trick-or-treat on October 31 from 6 until 8 p.m., provided that participants follow CDC guidelines. Finally, a public meeting concerning MS4 improvements to Dry Run Creek will be held on October 1 at 6:45 p.m.

NAZARETH AREA Family visitations now allowed at Gracedale Nursing Home Submitted by BECKY BARTLETT

Gracedale entered Step II of their re-opening plan on Fri-

day, September 18 following the completion of universal testing at the facility. No residents or

staff showed positive results for COVID-19. “While we are beyond thrilled that these visitations will be beginning, we must respectfully ask that, for the health and safety of

our residents and staff, all visitors please scrupulously abide by the rules and regulations,” says Lamont McClure. “Lives depend upon it.” Gracedale has resumed family visitations in Tower 7 which has been converted for this purpose. Infectious control procedures are in place. Anyone entering the facility for a visit will only be allowed in the elevator to travel to and from Tower 7 for a halfan-hour visit with their loved one. Areas will be disinfected per CDC protocols in between visits. Family members who would like to schedule a visit can call the Therapeutic Recreation Department at 610-829-3671.
