The only criteria employees must meet to receive payment are that the employee must have been employed with the city for at least six months from March 13, 2020, to March 12, 2022, and must continue to be on the payroll as of the date of payment.

The City’s one-time Essential Worker Pay is set to hit employees accounts in July 2022, unless elected to waive the payment.
“We approved this item at the last council meeting on June 14, and we did not want to exclude the part-time employees because they were essential during that time, and we relied on them. I know they all struggled in the process, and we’re so grateful they stayed on board with us,” said Rialto Mayor Deborah Robertson.
The Rialto resident received the news via email on March 31 while having dinner with family at a Texas Roadhouse.
“It was such a hard week after burying my grandmother, and here I am bawling,” the 33year-old recalled after opening his acceptance letter on his cell phone. “I turned the phone to my wife and showed her what it said. She gave me a big hug. Only a few people knew I applied because it was not a guarantee I’d get in.” Rosales is a first-generation college student and he credits Student, cont. next pg.
