The story starts when David Copperfield was born and he tells us his life. When David was born his father had already died and his mother, Clara, with his babysitter Pegotty helped him to be born. Betsy Trotwood, a sister of the father of Copperfield, his aunt, who visited to Clara the day than David was born. But she waited to help her in the upbringing of the baby if she is a girl, nevertheless, Betsy left when knew that he is a child. Clara married when Copperfield was about seven year, with the Gentleman, his name was Murdstone. Murdstone was a severe man who liked to marry with rich youngsters and to impose on him later his severe regime. While Clara and Murdstone celebrated their wedding and their honeymoon of his, David is sent to Yarmouth. Then David knows Emily (his first infantile love). David is unhappy with his stepfather and with Ms. Murdstone (his stepfather’s sister) who lives in the home. A day Copperfield bites to Murdstone and the stepfather sends David to a school: Salem-House, farm of his mother. In Salem-House, David meets James Steerforth and Tommy Traddles who will be good friends. On holidays when Copperfield went to home, he discover than her mother, Clara, has had a child, a Murdstone’s child. After, he came to Salem-House.
