INFORMATION ABOUT THE BOOK: Title: Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Author: Robert Louis Stevenson Publishing House: Macmillan readers Main Characters: -Dr Henry Jekyll was a rich scientific. He was tall, well-dressed, dark hair. He spend all his time studying medical and scientific problems in his laboratory. - Mr Edward Hyde was small and his face was pale and ordinary, his clothes were too large for him. He looked evil. -Mr Utterson was a Dr Jekyll’s lawyer, fifty-five years old, his face was pale and the colour of his hair was silver. He was a serious man but he was kind and intelligent and had many goods friends. -Dr Lanyon was an old man but he still looked young, he had thick white hair. He was always happy and lively. -Mr Enfield was Mr Utterson’s friend. -Poole was Dr Jekyll’s servant. Summary: Dr Jekyll was a scientific and he was always very busy in his laboratory, he was always having new ideas and creating new chemicals. His new invention was to separate the good and the evil parts of our brains, he worked very hard in it and he didn’t tell anyone. Mr Utterson was his lawyer and a very good friend and he wanted to know what he was doing. He met a strange man called Mr Hyde and he was worried because Dr Jekyll left all his money and property to him if he die. So Mr Utterson investigated and he discovered the truth. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde was the same person. Dr Jekyll became adictic to convert in Mr Hyde and he didn’t want to hurt anyone again so his solution was killed himself. Personal Opinion: I really like this story because it’s very interesting and I learnt a lot of new vocabulary and many things of life. I enjoyed the play we went to see very much, too. It was very entertaining and I could see the characters of the book in the play.
