Information about the book. Title: The Canterville Gosht and Other Stories. Author: Oscar Wilde Publishing house: Richmond. Main Characters: – Mr Otis: He's a practical man. He's a American man who respected individual effort. He had benn born to the money and social position of the England upper class. – Mrs Otis: She was a good-looking, energetic woman in her middle age. – Washington Otis: He's eldest son. He's an attractive young man with fair hair and talent for dancing. He worked for Pinkerton's Chemical Company who invented new and wonderful medicines and things to help with cleaning the house. – Miss Virginia Otis: She came next Washington. She was a lovely and energetic girl. She's fifteen years and large blue eyes. She loves horse riding and she won a horse race against same very good riders. – Duke of Cheshire: Who fallen in love with Virginia. – The twins: These two boys came after Virginia and they are usually called “Stars and Stripes” because they are often beaten for their bad behaviuor. – Mrs Umney: She's a odl woman who had been Lady Canterville's houskeeper. When the Otis family knew her, she was wearing a black dress with a white cap on the head.

Summary. The Canterville Gosht tells the story of a family which decides to move to England. They buy a house which was haunted so anypeople had lived there since a lot of years. When the family came at this house, only they found the housekeeper, Ummey, who says that a gosht lives there. When Ummey was showing the house, they saw a bloodstain in the library. The family didn't scar but Mrs Otis fainted. At the time of they live in house normaly, The Family Otis cleared the bloodstain all days but it reapeared. Then, they began to hear strange noise in the midnight. After, they discovered that the noise was made by a ghost who had tryed to scare, although he failed so he felt unhappy and dissapointed. Moreover, the family try to scar and they laughed at him so the ghost felt even worse. Only Virginia let him calm. Then, he decided that he was going to him to help at Virginia who helped him to died. He was a ghost because he killed his wife. Virginia found a valuable jewels and she get married with the Duke of Chesire.

My personal opinion. I think that it's a very good story to read because it´s very amused. This book is short, moreover this vocabulary is simple and easy to read. This story is very amused because it have a lot of mystery. Sincerely, I like much this book, addictionaly it teach some values such as the person can change and to repent of him past.
