Extension of Autonomous status
Admission of New Students through JEE Until the year 2020 , students were admitted in the college through the state level entrance examination UPSEE. But starting from this year, all the admissions to the college will be made through the national level entrance examination JEE. The first batch of students were admitted in the month of November into various disciplines.
Another great news received was the extension of autonomous status of IET by UGC till the year 2023. The duration of autonomous status is from 2018 to 2023, that had been pending for the last two years. Now that the status has been extended, the institute can develop its own curriculum and syllabus based on current needs, and can conduct their own examinations.

The year 2021 saw the introduction of two new courses in the institute – M. Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) and B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence). This has been an enthralling news for all the students who are aspiring to build a career in this field. The introduction of these courses will definitely prove to be very beneficial for the students, allowing them to compete shoulder-toshoulder with others in the same field. It can be seen as a wonderful step towards future-centered learning; full of new ideas, inventions and innovations. This will help them to learn more about the upcoming new technologies; very importantly at the right time and at the right stage.
