n the year 2020, IET missed out on almost all major events, branch fests, sports fests, Convergence, Encore and more. Pravah was the only one that saw the faces of joy and excitement among all college students. Pravah, the final round of AKTU arts and cultural competition, was held on 28th and

29th of February. Ramp Walks, Rangoli competition, face painting, dance, singing and much more were the major events and attractions. The Rock Band competition became a concert for students of IET and the other participants. The two days were one of the most memorable moments of the year 2020. Soon after one week of Pravah, lockdown hit the floors.

The College
When even in Lockdown people were working hard on themselves and their skills, our college under the aegis of IIC found a way to keep people on their toes, by its Covid 19 Ideathon. Held from 18-26 May, this event saw more than 400 registrations and a plethora of unique solutions.
Slate
IET also teamed up with the Hult community to hold the HULT Prize On Campus Round, inviting start-up ideas to regulate the food industry and combat food waste. It's main theme revolved around issues related to all steps of food growth, from farms to plates and defeating hunger.
Talking about Hackathons and startups, SIH 2020, Smart India Hackathon also saw a great amount of participation from the college.

Another achievement that unfolded this year was that Team Estrella from our college was declared winners in Grace Hopper Celebration India(GHCI) Codeathon 2020. They built an AI-assisted solution for Early detection of Sepsis. Team Members: Aanchal Singh, Aditi Shreya, Namrata Gupta.
Connect: Strengthening Relations With immense support from some notable alumni from the institute, IET Whiteboard came up with the platform of ALUMNI Connect which can serve as a medium of interaction between the current students and alumni. Under this project, WB conducted a series of Career Guidance episodes wherein alumni from diverse sectors like space technology, machine learning and AI, etc. were hosted. Recently, another series of sessions- ‘Inspire’ was hosted which aimed at motivating the students.
In an extended time period, such paradigm aims at developing a more complex mechanism- one on one mentorship- to help current students learn from the experiences of our alumni.

CLUBS
GALORE
SWARANJALI
The classical music club sang its way right through the year, whether it was on a stage, or at home, they hit the harmonies perfectly. With the creation of their brand new Instagram page (iet_swaranjali), they didn’t let us wallow in the depths of boredom by releasing soulful covers every now and then.
KALAKRITI The year 2020 was in no way a
deterrent for the members of Kalakriti. The club looked into the decoration of the college and the auditorium during Pravah, the Arts and Cultural Fest conducted by AKTU, which was hosted by IET this year; the beautiful rangoli made for Pravah‘20 with its huge size (5 feet radii) is one of the most appreciated works of the team till date. The members of the club participated in a number of events at the AKTU zonals (cultural) in the month of February, including Art from Waste, On the Spot Painting, Collage making, Poster making, Mehndi, Cartooning, Face Painting competition, and bagged the 3rd position in Rangoli Making.
The club also conducted an “Online Farewell Contest” for its members. One of the members competed in the “Kalakriti ‘20”, the Online Fine Arts Competition organized by IIT BHU and stood 4th. The club took the Inktober’20 challenge, something we are all thankful for, as it blessed us with a number of beautiful sketches posted on the club’s social media handles.

ROBOTICS CLUB
The year at home in no way
stopped the members of the Robotics club from bringing laurels to the institution. The year started with fresher members of the club working on various projects like "attendance system through face recognition and OpenCV" with their mentors.
This was followed by two teams bagging 5th position in Eyantra, a robotics competition organised by IIT Bombay. The finalist teams in the theme Construct O Bot and Survey and Rescue both came 5th out of 7 teams in their individual category, selected for finals from 1057 participants.
Later in the year, two teams, Team Sharang in Department of Atomic Energy and Team Legion in Department of Railways were selected for Smart India Hackathon organised by MHRD.
Other than various medals, the members of robotics club also bagged 7 internships at IIT Bombay working on projects like PIC microcontroller development, smartphone based self controlled bot, ROS for Differential Drive based SLAM application and real time game development. Other members also interned in various fields in prestigious institutions like IIT patna, IIT bhu and roboslog.
Electrical Engineering Society
Despite the retarding blow of the pandemic which had all the academic activities put on hold, the year looked up, educationally speaking for Electrical Engineering Society. EES conducted a number of expert lecture in the field of energy efficiency, WAMS, and conducted a five days training program in Electrical Vehicles. Pre Covid, the students participated in an industrial industrial training at L&T.

AURORAS The
western music club didn't let quarantine dampen their passion. It was a rough year for all of us, but the Auroras did not shy away from recording raps, songs and guitar solos. Auroras also stepped into the social media world with the creation of an Instagram page (iet_auroras). Another notable achievement for the club was the release of the debut album of Rachit Srivastava(CSE 2020), former coordinator, on streaming platforms such as Spotify, YouTube and Hungama.
MIRAGE The photography and filmmaking club covered the whole 2 day event of Pravah held on 28th and 29th of February. Not only did they click astounding pictures, but also recorded scintillating videos of the performances and ramp walks.
Then, lockdown hit but Mirage didn't sit back. They published a comical episode, "Chronicles of Lockdown", on YouTube starring people from the club, strutting off their acting skills.
Finally, they held their annual event, "Diwali with Mirage", a competition organised to find the best pictures with its theme as "Festival of Lights".
