Architecture Portfolio. Personal Statement: My name is Ifeoluwa Mary Tunji-Ogunsanya. I am 17 years old; a senior student at Aloha high school, Beaverton Oregon. I started drawing when I was seven years old. By the time I was twelve, I knew all I wanted was drawing. I draw just anything- from cartoons to animals, faces, especially faces of celebrities, just anything I see. My interest in Architecture started in 9th grade after I drew a building for my Class project. My art teacher encouraged me to draw more buildings, and my interest in drawing buildings grew stronger. I took drawing 1,2 &3 in my 8th, 9th and 10th grades respectively and I had all As. In my 11th grade, my mom suggested that I take Architecture class; which I did; and I had an A too. I am presently taking Architecture 2 in my 12th grade and I am enrolled in Portland Community college for a dual credit course in History of American Resident Architecture. During the Spring of 2021. precisely April 27- May 18, 2021. I participated in a youth architectural workshop, known as ¨Your street your voice¨ - A competition about Architectural Plans for a community. I designed a community Center Library using the SketchUp App. It consists of a computer cafe for research and other works, an Administrative office, a library that entails diverse cultural resources, a Coffee shop, and Restrooms. Twenty-five high school students participated in the competition, and I was one of the top 5.
This competition exposed me to the architectural world and the opportunity to connect with architectural companies like LEVER. An Architecture company, I was invited to shadow a zoom meeting on August 18, 2021, for a project handled
by LEVER- to enable me to see how they work together with different people outside the office to develop the design and constructability of a building project. August 24 2021, I was privileged to visit the Adidas Headquarters in Portland, Oregon. LEVER gave me an invitation for a Tour after the completion of one of the buildings. I was informed on what it takes to put such a building together from start to finish - From the conception of the idea to putting the idea to plan and executing the plans - I learned a lot, the brain storming, and what it takes architects to get such a building completed.
