Design changed my life. During my studies, I realized that I can actually be useful, bringing beauty into my work and people’s lives.

With a real concern behind each project, the results are complete: achieving efficient solutions, being aware of the environment and economics.

I realized that I am able to design ways to do design; my contribution may be to teach people to be more creative with all things around us.

Hopefully, that is the meaning of all of this.

Winka

y el espacio ritual Mapuche

Winka busca concientizar sobre la importancia del pueblo Mapuche la identidad nacional chilena; dar a conocer más sobre su cultura a través de una experiencia cercana guiada por “gente de la tierra”; generar auténtica empatía entre ellos y el resto, o “winkas”.

Winka es un centro cultural ubicado en la Araucanía, abierto al público durante todo el día y a la comunidad Mapuche cercana. La arquitectura ofrece un vinculo entre los Mapuches y la tierra y permite al visitante recorrer la vida mapuche sin perturbarla, más, comprendiéndola.

El objetivo principal del proyecto es que se sustituye lo anecdótico de la artesanía, gastronomía y rituales indígenas por una experiencia real y significante. La idea es que el visitante no se lleve un souvenir de la visita, sino que conserve recuerdos u objetos cargados de significado.

Winka seeks to raise awareness about the importance of the Mapuche in Chilean national identity, to disclose more about their culture through a close experience guided by “people of the earth” and to generate genuine empathy between them and the rest, called “winkas” by Mapuches.

Winka is a cultural center located in the Araucania, southern Chile, open to the public all the day long and at the nearby of the Mapuche community. The architecture provides a link between Mapuches and the earth and allows visitors to explore the Mapuche life without disturbing it, and understanding it.

The main objective of the project is to replace the anecdote of handicraft, food and indigenous rituals from a real and meaningful experience. The idea is that visitors do not keep a souvenir of the visit, but keep memories or objects charged with meaning.

Cultivo en tetra pack

Huerto hidropónico casero creado a partir de las cajas de tetra pack desechadas.

Acerca a niños y adultos a la naturaleza y al cuidado del medio ambiente.

A su vez, es un incentive para la buena alimentación de los niños que van creciendo a la par que su huerto.

Este entretenido kit incluye las semillas, los nutrientes y los materiales necesarios para crear tu primer huerto hidropónico, además de 3 libritos con todo tipo de actividades mientras ves a tus plantas crecer.

Objetivos: - Incentivar el consume de leche en niños - Incentivar el consume de productos naturales y un estilo de vida sana - Motivar en el niño y en su familia el reci claje y al cuidado del medio ambiente It is a hydroponic garden created from tetra pack discarded boxes.

This funny kit includes seeds, nutrients and materials which are necessary to create your first hydroponic garden, as well as 3 booklets with all kinds of activities to make while watching your plants grow.

Tu cuento de hadas

Kk’s Kk’s is the result of experimentation with waste materials in search of an accesible, original and relevanttoy forchildren, especially for the poor ones It is intended that the child, together with their teacher or family, creates his or her unique and unrepeatable Kk from recycled PVC. It is very simple, as it is done with materials available at every home.

The aim of this project is that both children and adults are able to find a new value to the old things andto understand that they can find treasures in the trash.

• Kk’s comes from the Spanish “caca”, human excrement, said and especially by little children.

Kk’s es el resultado de la experimentación con materiales de desecho en busca de un juguete accesible, original y de importancia para niños, sobretodo de escasos recursos.

Se busca que el niño, en conjunto con su profesora o familia, cree su Kk única e irrepetible a partir de PVC reciclado. Es muy sencillo, ya que se hace con materiales disponibles en cualquier casa.

Cada Kk se moldea en una lata de bebida, sin importar si está abollada, dándole una segunda vida tanto al PVC como a la lata.

El objetivo de este proyecto es que tanto niños como adultos sean capaces de encontrarle nuevo valor a lo viejo, a entender que puede haber tesoros en la basura.

Consola portátil con la que es posible guardar el aura de las personas que quieres.

Este gadget de Nokia puede almacenar cientos de auras para posteriormente reproducirlas en tu hogar o compartirlas con tus amigos. * Proyecto fue desarrollado en el workshop de Nokia, “Nokia Only Planet 2008” al que fui invitada a participar.

It is a portable console with which you can keep the aura of the people you love.

This Nokia gadget can store hundreds of auras andlater, they could be playbacked on your home or share them with your friends.

This project was developed in the Nokia workshop”Nokia Only Planet 2008”, to which I was invited to participate.

Choripleto La comida rápida chilena Ahora más que nunca la comida chilena simple, amigable y sabrosa tiene la posibilidad de destacar sobre la oferta importada existente en Santiago.

Bajo la tendencia de que lo que comemos hoy es mucho más que un plato de comida, se propuso: El diseño conceptual de una comida urbana y chilena que se basa en el uso del pan e ingredientes de calidad para el habitante de Santiago. Considera las características del mercado actual enfatizando el carácter de producto de la comida de hoy: portátil, atractiva, eficiente y por supuesto, rica!

Marraqueta y embutido Los chilenos somos los segundos consumidores de pan en el mundo y además tenemos una tradición parrillera que quisimos rescatar.

Por eso CHORIPLETO es la fusión entre nuestros tradicionales choripanes y completos. El primero es cocinado a la parrilla, mucho más sabroso, picante y muy llenador.

El segundo es más suave, preferido por los niños, fácil, accesible y común en la comida rápida chilena.

CHORIPLETO, chilean fast food Now more than ever before, simple, friendly and tasty Chilean foodhas the ability to stand out from the existing imported supply in Santiago.

Under the trend of “what we eat today is much more than a meal”: The conceptual design of an urban and Chilean food is based on the use of bread and quality ingredients by the inhabitants of Santiago. We must to take into account the current market characteristics and to emphasize the character of food products today: portable, attractive, efficient and of course tasty!

Marraqueta and sausage The Chileans are the second consumers of bread in the world and we have a barbecue tradition we wanted to rescue.

So CHORIPLETO is the fusion of our traditional choripanes and completos. The first is cooked on the grill, it is much more tasty andspicy and it is very filling. The second is softer, it is preferred by children, it is easy andaccessible and it is the common fast food in Chile.

La gracia de CHORIPLETO es que mezcla un embutido especial, más sabroso que una vienesa, más suave que un chorizo en un pan de marraqueta adaptado. . Además, se suman nuevas salsas, algunas de inspiración 100% chilena, como pebres y chanchos en piedra, otras mostaza y mayonesas al marquén con inspiración sureña y algunas con giros más peruanos inspiradas en los inmigrantes de ese país en chile.

CHORIPLETO es un sánguche para el chile actual.

Un packaging para compartir La forma de la marraqueta es característica, sus 4 bollos unidos por el centro permiten que sea muy fácil de dividir sin utensilios. Es un pan para “comPANtir” Y por eso el diseño del envase y de la interacción con el producto, permite al consumidor comerse una mitad del sánguche y guardar la otra para llevar o compartirla con un amigo, un colega o su pareja.

CHORIPLETO’s unique flavor is its special sausage mixture, tastier than a viennese, softer than a sausage or “chorizo” in a marraqueta bread adaption. In addition, there are new sauces, some 100% chilean inspiration as “pebres” and “chancho en piedra”; mustard and mayonnaise with “merquén”, a typical spice from the south; and some ingredients inspired by peruvian immigrants who come to Chile.

CHORIPLETO is the ssándwich for today.

A packaging for sharing The shape of the marraqueta is characteristic: their 4 rolls are joined at the center, allowing it to be divided easily without utensils. It is a bread for “comPANtir” (“sharing”).

And so the design of packaging and interaction with the product allow consumers to eat a half of sánguche and keep the other to carry or share with a friend, colleague or couple.

When media and design are integrated, it is easier for people to understand the information you are getting. Thatis thechannel between the source of information and the audience it seeks to reach.

Desde que tengo memoria me he sentido cercana a los medios de comunicación. Mis padres son periodistas –uno de ellos de periodismo escrito, el otro de televisión–, por eso, hay un montón de libros en mi casa, todos los días llega el diario, tenemos una colección de revistas y escuchamos la radio por la mañana, sobretodo disfruto al escuchar a mis padres comentar las noticias.

Design can do contributions through illustration, infographics, storyboards, moodboards, collages, photos, videos, and new formats. Everything is able to be translated (words or text) into images with a bit of common sense and creativity. Not only because it is faster to understand for people, but also because it can be muchfunnier and memorable.

Visual Communication is still new and there is a lot to be discovered.

Lo más interesante del diseño integrado a los medios de comunicación, es que facilita a que la gente entienda mejor la información que está recibiendo, es ese canal entre la fuente de información y el público al que busca llegar.

Puede haber aportes a través de la ilustración, infografías, storyboards, moodboards, collages, fotos, videos, y todas estas manifestaciones gráficas que son capaces de traducir palabras o texto en imágenes.

Siento que este campo todavía es nuevo y que tiene mucho por abarcar.

Práctica Profesional Diario El Mercurio Revista Sábado Práctica profesional realizada el segundo semestre de 2009. La revista Sábado es uno de los suplementos del diario El Mercurio.

Habla de temas de actualidad, reportajes y entrevistas.

Fui diseñadora practicante, colaborando en diagramación y como ilustradora en varias ocaciones. Debido a mi interés y facilidad para ilustrar conceptos abstractos, pedí que se me diera trabajo representando texto en forma gráfica.

I did an intership in design in “El Mercurio”. I worked on layout and as an illustrator on several occasions. Because of my interest and ease to illustrate abstract concepts, I asked them to give me that kind of assignment.

Mundo en Juego

Canal 13c

Identity and graphics of “Mundo en Juego”, 13c tv channel, launched in 2010.

It is about of political, economic and social relevant events, which took place during the past centuryworldwide. In his first season were 10 chapters entitled: The Cuban Revolution, Gulf War, Chinese Phenomenon, Economic Crisis, Free South Africa, Fall of the Wall in the Palestine Conflict, Space Race, Bicentennial, Chile in the World.

In addition to my graphic function, I also created a light table on which the maps were projected, so that the driver and the guests could scratch, draw routes and make notes of all kinds.

Diseño de la identidad e imagen el programa Mundo en Juego, del canal 13c (televisión por cable), lanzado en 2010.

Trata los hechos políticos, económicos y sociales más relevantes del último siglo a nivel mundial. En su primera temporada fueron 10 capítulos titulados: La Revolución Cubana, La Guerra del Golfo, El Fenómeno Chino, Crisis Económicas, Sudáfrica Libre, Caída del Muro, Conflicto en Palestina, Carrera Espacial, Bicentenarios, Chile en el Mundo.

Además de mi función gráfica trabajé con el arquitecto del estudio y como novedad incorporamos al programa una mesa de luz en la que se proyectaban los mapas sobre los que el conductor y los invitados podían rayar, trazar recorridos y hacer anotaciones de todo tipo.

From 2008 until now, I have been collaborating with Terra Networks and Puntonet magazine, illustrating covers for different editions, interiors, creating images for web, and more.

Desde el 2008 hasta ahora colaboro con el portal Terra Networks y la revista Puntonet, ilustrando portadas e interiores de distintas ediciones, creando imagenes para la web, y más.

Periódico Cultural Independiente

Panoramas News (www.pnews.cl) es un periódico cultural gratuito que reúne los panoramas culturales de la semana. Danza, cine, teatro, arte en todas sus expresiones; entrevistas a artistas del ámbito nacional e internacional y reportajes de índole cultural y actualidad.

Trabajé en Pnews durante el 2011 como Editora gráfica y diseñadora, aportando con ilustraciones cada vez que un tema lo requiriera.

Fue una experiencia interesante la de trabajar en un medio de comunicación independiente. Fue un gran aprendizaje observar cómo funciona el negocio, las ventas, la distribución, la edición de los temas y el contenido a publicar.

En cuanto al diseño, para mi fue fantástico tener la oportunidad de rediseñar por completo un medio de comunicación. Me dieron la libertad de cambiarlo todo con el fin de hacerlo más atractivo visualmente y actualizarlo, siempre teniendo en mente el rubro “espectáculos” y al público al que va dirigido.

Para el libro que leo

Leo desde que tengo memoria y me encanta. Por eso, como una iniciativa personal se me ocurrió la idea de crear la “Portada alterativa a los libros que leo” y hacer un breve comentario de la lectura. Además es una Buena forma de llevar un registro de las lecturas.

Se dice que no debes juzgar un libro por su portada. Una portada nos puede atraer a un mal libro o biceversa. Esta idea parece ser cierta, muchas veces yo la hubiera hecho diferente.

Alternative Covers I read books since I have memory and I love it. Therefore, as a personal initiative, I got the idea for the “Alternative covers for the books I read” consisting of making a brief comment of the reading. It is also a good way to keep track of your readings.

You should not judge a book by its cover. A cover can immediately take us to a bad reading or vice versa. This idea seems to be true; many times, I would have done differently.

Papelón

Para el uso diario

Papelón recoge como área de foco el abrigo y el descanso, generando un espacio para dormir más cómodo y caliente: surge como una solución viable y económica al problema de la mala aislación de las viviendas de emergencia después del terremoto del 27 de febrero de 2010, en un escenario de invierno inminente.

Es una colcha de cama ecológica que aisla del frío y te mantiene caliente. Está rellena con papel de diario cortado en finas tiras que tienen como funsión encapsular el aire, uno de los mejores aislantes térmicos.

El mismo concepto puede ser usado como colchón y cojines.

Su producción es muy sencilla y se puede construir en la propia casa a muy bajo costo.

As a focus area, it includes the shelter and rest, in order to create a more comfortable place to sleep: this is an economic solution to the problem of poor insulation of emergency housing after the earthquake of February 27, 2010, in a wintertime scenario.

It is a green bedspread that isolates the cold and keeps you warm. It is filled with newspaper cut into thin strips whose fusion encapsulates the air, one of the best thermal insulators.

The same concept can be used as a mattress and cushions.

Its production is simple and can be built at home at a very low cost.
