We are truly blessed.” Allyson has led an active, fulfilling life. She and her two younger sisters Allena Ward and Ashley du Feu; grew up in a Christian home with parents Cary and Joan Ward. The sisters were deeply involved in school, Church, and other activities from their earliest years. It was a positive family influence. played a big role in my walk and relationship with Jesus Christ," she says. Importantly, earning her own living was something she picked up early. She worked as a waitress, veterinary assistant, receptionist, retailer, and as a store manager. She next took a job with a new financing business, serving as a mortgage loan originator, and became successful despite having no experience working in the money market. After that stint, Allyson moved on to BancorpSouth, learning deposits, operations, and lending aspects of the banking industry. "I became a senior commercial loan specialist and helped multiple lenders, including our bank president, with their customers and portfolios by handling mul-

tiple loans from the application all the way through the closing and funding process," she says. Although she spent almost fifteen years with BancorpSouth she never reached her "dream position" of commercial lender. However, she caught the attention of Prosperity Bank, which hired her in January 2018. “Prosperity Bank took a chance on me, and hired a non-traditionally educated, inexperienced lender with no existing loan portfolio to be their sole lender and Banking Center Manager at their Longview branch,” she explained. “Since moving to Prosperity Bank, I have been able to flourish as a Commercial Lender; meet and exceed the goals and challenges that have come my way.”

Cover Story Consequently, in 2019, Allyson was one of the top producing lenders for Prosperity Bank in East Texas. To this end, she is again on her way to accomplishing the same for 2020 despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Hard work has its reward. Allyson Bailey was recently promoted to Banking Center President for Longview. To be its sole lender and banking center manager in Longview, Texas. She keeps getting better and better at what she does, and recently earned the title of banking center president. All this without formal college training. Her personal life is another success story. "I never would have seen myself re-married after my divorce, until I met Scott," she says. "He encourages me in my endeavors, he challenges me, and he makes me laugh." Her happy marriage and home life mean that she has few personal distractions as she strings out her profitable workdays. She succeeds in helping current customers, seeking new customers, working with employ-
ees to accomplish the bank's goals, keeping abreast of constantly changing regulations and, as of late, meeting and overcoming all the challenges wrought by the COVID-19 epidemic. She seldom experiences a "slow day." For her, this is the ideal work environment. "I thrive when there is always something going on and something to do," she says. "I like to stay busy and challenge myself to go above and beyond what I think I might be capable of." She has nothing but praise for her employer, Prosperity Bank. “Prosperity Bank has been amazing when it comes to the support system that it offers, without the “micro-managing” that tends to always follow in most other similar businesses,” she gladly explained. “I am constantly encouraged that I am doing a good job and that I am an integral part of the bank and its success. Being a “words of affirmation” person, it pushes me to go above and beyond what my job entails.” In addition, Allyson is quick to credit customers

and co-workers for the bank’s successes. “I have the most amazing customers and co-workers,” she confirmed. Nonetheless, the sole drawback she sees is that too few people in Longview are even aware of what a blessed resource they have in Prosperity Bank. This $32 billion institution is the secondlargest Texas bank, with home offices in El Campo and Sugar Land in the Houston area. Allyson is just one of many tremendously competent banking employees who realize they can never become satisfied but have to keep improving in such ways that customers profit along with the bank. These customers are a vital advertising source as they tell others about their positive interactions and experiences with Prosperity Bank. For Allyson, hers is a truly God-given life. "I have never, ever doubted God or my faith in Him," she says. "He is the one true constant in all areas of my life, and He is my ultimate lifeline and support system."

Despite her demanding daily routine, she finds time to serve her Lord through community involvement. She has served as president of the board of Longview Community Ministries, and as treasurer and board member for Young Professionals of Longview. Furthermore, in 2016, the Longview Chamber of Commerce recognized Allyson with an Emerging Leader award to add to her other well-earned recognitions from her years of selfless community service. But wait. That is not all. In 2014, she graduated from the Leadership Longview program. The lessons of this training program helped her further her banking career. "I have my experience with Leadership Longview to thank for the majority of my own personal growth as a leader," she says. "I have no doubt that my success would not have happened without the knowledge, relationships, experiences and life lessons I learned when I went through the program." It is important to note, Leadership Longview program and its curriculum extremely inspired Allyson in such a ways that following her graduation, she assisted in reorganizing the program's structure and objectives to make Leadership Longview even more effective. The new developments included increasing volunteers assigned to the monumental task of planning, facilitating, and executing the learning processes, which had taught Allyson that two heads are indeed better than one.

"The more heads we have in the game with different ideas, thoughts, insights, connections, personalities, et cetera, the better the end result," she says. "We created more of a committee structure for the planning team." The think tank orientation of the new planning team brought in numerous ideas and feedback, resulting in a revamping of the entire program. Allyson served as vice-chair of the class and vice-chair of facilities, supervising this revamp. Hence, Leadership Longview has a new and rigorous curriculum, improved schedule, guidelines, events, and objectives. Consequently, Leadership Longview not only got notice but won an award for being one of the nation's best chamber leadership programs. The enhancements continue, insuring better interaction between students, alumni, and the community. Her dedication to Leadership Longview stems from her first-hand experience in its effectiveness. According to Allyson, Leadership Longview scholars who have open minds, are willing to challenge themselves, reinvent their ways of thinking, work on their leadership skills, and learn all there is about Longview and its people and needs will go far with the training they receive. "Any time you have this many amazing and diverse leaders come together with a common goal, the possibilities are endless," she says. Allyson Bailey is living proof of this.

avigating broadband connections can be a little tricky for the average person. Technical jargon can sometimes make internet connections appear more difficult than they seemingly should be. Upload speed, download speed, ping rate, and whether the internet is wired or wireless all play a role in establishing the master equation. In homes where internet is in constant demand, increased speeds are often necessary.

streaming, playing video games, uploading photo files, etc., can slow or stop internet speeds. And too much demand on bandwidth can cause lag and slow speeds.
Upload, download and ping
The abbreviation Mbps stands for megabits per second, or the rate at which data can be moved in a second. Data travels in two directions through the internet. There is information downloaded from the internet and information uploaded. Upload speed refers to the data that one sends from a computer to another device or server on the internet. Emails, multiplayer video games and video calling are examples of instances when upload speeds are important. Ping rate is another factor. Ping is the reaction time of your connection, or how fast you get a response after you’ve sent out a request. A fast ping means a more responsive connection, especially for gaming. Ping is measured in milliseconds. Ping latency can cause a delay in the action of a game. That means your shots may be registered behind another player’s in fast-paced fighting games.
Bandwidth
Bandwidth refers to the volume of information per unit of time that the connection can handle. Internet connections with a lot of bandwidth can move more data at a faster pace than connections with less bandwidth. Having multiple draws on the internet through movie
Improve speed
Improving an internet experience requiring fast speeds may involve making changes. Here are some handy tips: Use a hard-wired connection that involves an ethernet cord connected to a console or computer directly rather than WiFi. WiFi is convenient, but it almost always runs at lower speeds than a hard line. Shut down other programs or devices that may be eating up bandwidth while engaged in the desired activity. Test your internet speeds through a reputable third party rather than your internet company’s speed meter. Consider upgrading bandwidth if you find that your internet speed is continually lacking.

"Our Leadership Longview shirts this year say, 'Leaders rise by lifting others.' I cannot count how many selfless leaders have lifted me up. What I do know is, that I want to be just like them." The circumstances of her childhood did not seem promising for leading to her present success. Growing up socioeconomically disadvantaged, in the small town of Dublin, Texas, her father was a farmer, and her parents separated when she was a toddler. Growing up with her usually unemployed mother and her siblings in government-subsidized housing was a challenge, but her mom still managed to procure shelter, food, and medical attention for her children. April, however, has no room for self-pity. Her father set a fine example. "My work ethic and my drive for making the world a better place has been heavily influenced by the hard work of my father," she says. "He was a man who never took a day off (or wore shorts,)

and my grandmother, who, lacking a high school education, took up a skilled trade as a truck driver to support herself and many family members." April had just turned fifteen when she lost her father to cancer. She was touched by how her school's basketball coach Randy Parks attended the funeral and tendered his sincere condolences. Parks and his wife Cherry essentially adopted her, taking her under their wings and becoming mentors and parental figures. Coach Parks even assisted his young protege` in mailing copies of a basketball film titled #31: April McCamey to various colleges and universities in a quest to find her a place in college basketball. "That's how I landed in Longview, Texas at LeTourneau University," she says. "Another Godsend."
During her junior year, Longview Economic Development Corporation (LEDCO) hired her as a summer intern. This position opened her eyes to how much economic proliferation positively impacts urban populations. Her work with LEDCO was a learning, maturing and confidence-building experience that also taught her the rewards to be earned from hard work. During the next two years, she collaborated closely with LEDCO President Susan Gill, who "took a chance on a shy, awkward kid with virtually no skills" and molded her into the seasoned, productive professional she is today...one who knows who else to thank for her success. She says her work with Gill is, "similar to our work with the Lord. We'll never be able to repay Him for what He has done for us, but we can

In addition to the Bachelor of Science degree in marketing she pulled down from LeTourneau, April holds a master’s degree in human resource development from the University of Texas at Tyler. Such higher education meant she was prepared for the change when she moved into the field of human resources. She selflessly yearned to assist others in improving their individual lives. "I wanted to be able to give people the same chance I was given in my first role--a chance to be more than they ever thought they could be," she says. "I was ready to make an impact in a big and positive way." She volunteered with several local non-profits and became a D.O.R.S. board member. Next, on Gill's urging, she enrolled in Leadership Longview, graduating in 2015. It led to even greater things. She now has five years in human resources under her belt, and works as manager of recruiting

Since 1985, ICUT Foundation Members have received annual grants from the CIC State Funds Endowment to provide United Parcel Service (UPS) Scholarships to every private college and university in the State Fund network. This year, Taylor Singleton was selected to receive support from the UPS Foundation. Originally from Friendswood, Texas, Singleton is a junior studying biology at East Texas Baptist University. “I came to ETBU to obtain an education and play college basketball while also furthering my walk with Christ,” Singleton shared. “Receiving this scholarship makes me feel accomplished because my hard work in school is not going unnoticed. This scholarship will help greatly with my books and any other supplementary materials and will provide an extra cushion for this school year. I can focus purely on my education.” Nationally, CIC, through the CIC/UPS Educational Endowment, provided more than $1.6 million in student scholarships to make private colleges and universities more affordable and accessible to underserved students. This year, the ICUT Foundation awarded $114,000 in CIC/UPS Scholarships to 38 students at private institutions across Texas. “Each year, these scholarships have a significant impact on the lives of deserving students,” ETBU President J. Blair Blackburn said. “Through our

shared mission to provide every student with an affordable opportunity to earn a quality education, students across Texas are being equipped and empowered to pursue their aspirations through private colleges and universities. On behalf of ETBU, I am so thankful that our University is a member institution benefiting from the educational and financial support of PACCAR, UPS, ICUT, and CIC.” About the PACCAR Scholarship Program In 1951, PACCAR Inc. formed the PACCAR Foundation as a private foundation to direct grants to United Way, universities, hospitals and programs for the arts and education in communities where the company has a significant presence. Early in the 21st century, the PACCAR Foundation began to provide scholarships to students whose institutions ICUT Foundation members. ments in the near future. They aim to remain in Waco at least until Brady graduates from Baylor. After he pulls down his sheepskin, they will pray for the Lord's direction, and see where He leads them. Until then, they will continue to make Waco a better place the way they once did Longview. The Boldings bought their wedding rings from a local business – Jim Bartlett Fine Jewelry. This is what Kameron had to say : “Jim Bartlett Fine Jewelry Store was amazing! They are so friendly and welcoming; you feel so special every time you walk in and they remember your name and what you were last in for. I had to go in two times to get my rings sized and pick my wedding band. Each time, they were so helpful and worked with us on matching the band to the engagement ring and our price range. My ring(s) always came back to me quickly and very clean. I would highly recommend using Jim Bartlett for any jewelry needs!" -Kameron Bolding

other is unmistakable. "Brady is the love of my life because he has been so steadfast and patient during all the l long-distance years when I was overseas or out-of-state," she says. "He has a huge heart for family, which is so important to me." Brady's sense of humor and overall kindness combine with his willingness to go wherever the Lord leads him, makes him the ideal mate for a woman like Kameron. He is accommodating, and this is vital for their kind of marriage. "When I was deciding to move overseas for two years, I told him I didn't think we should be together anymore because I didn't want him to have to wait two years for someone who might not I returned, and if he had to, he would win my heart all over again." Brady is a true, passionate Native Texan, although his wife is discombobulated at how he does not like the traditional Texas beverage- sweet tea. The Boldings have no plans for major life adjust-

t was a luncheon designed to impress her friends from the neighborhood. Wanting to impress them, she asked her five-year-old son, Jamie, to return thanks. “Jamie,” she said politely, “will you please say grace?” “Mommy, please, I don’t really know what to say,” he replied cautiously. “Well, dear,” she said encouragingly, “just say what you heard Mommy say this morning.” Bowing his head and folding his hands, he began, “Good Lord, why did I invite all these dumb people to lunch today.” Words can be a sword or a source of comfort or even a weapon that can leave a wound. Words once spoken can never be retrieved or marked “Void.” Words take on a life of their own and will leave another person better or bruised, helped or hurt, encouraged or empty. King David wrote, “May the words of my mouth...be pleasing to you, O Lord...” Another part of that verse states: “may...the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to you.” David wanted his words to be sincere, appropriate, and approved by God as coming from the depths of his heart. He realized that if his thoughts were acceptable to God, they would be suitable as an offering to God that was worthy of sacrifice on His altar. What a great prayer for us to offer to God each day!
Prayer: Father, “may the words of our mouths and the thoughts in our minds and the attitudes of our hearts be pleasing to you, O Lord, our rock and our redeemer.” In Jesus’ Name, Amen. Scripture for Today: May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

"Jim Bartlett is professional, efficient, and offers a wide variety of options. But what stood out most to me was their friendly and welcoming attitude. They were always helpful, smiling, and happy to help you. They even remembered who I was and what I had looked at when I came back over a month later. I highly recommend Jim Bartletts!" - Brady Bolding part of a mission team that shared this training with local leaders and pastors who will then teach it to their communities. None of her preparations came free, either. She worked her way through and did so in between overseas mission trips. "I have been a full-time nanny, a health food store worker, a vet tech, and worked at a dog resort," she says. "Currently I am a health and fitness coach as well as working full-time as a barista." She gets great fulfillment from working to help women positively transform their lives and lifestyles. She realizes personal health and habits greatly impact all areas of life. By being a barista, she can see the blessed influence her direction has on those who learn about the benefits of nutrition and exercise . "If anyone is looking to be a part of a community of women pursuing health and fitness together with the goal of transforming their whole lives, they can follow me on instagram@Kameronbolding and message me there." Kameron considers her work ensuring the fitness and physical well-being of others to be part of her Christian missionary career. The Bible does indeed say human bodies are God's temple. Hence, those she works with as a barista quickly pick up on the spiritual nature of her work with them. She prays for and with them and eagerly shares the Gospel. “My faith impacts my drive

I believe we are called to be stewards of God’s creations and that includes us,” she said. “One of the fruits of the spirit is also self-discipline and I think we too easily forget that it should be applied in every area of our lives like nutrition and exercise. Being a barista gives me a unique opportunity to have conversations with people throughout the day. She labored in the Grace Case Ministry providing basic necessities for children in the childcare system and donated her time to the Highway 80 Rescue Mission. It is then easy to envision Kameron and her husband Brady, a Baylor University student opening their

rady and Kameron Bolding were just eight years old when they met, and there was instant chemistry. They went to Sunday School together, and by age eleven, Brady knew Kameron was the girl of his dreams. It took her awhile longer. Nonetheless, by the time they were fifteen, she came to feel likewise about him. She calls him her "solid rock and peaceful companion" who has been her soothing, steadying force during her extensive and extended period of international travels. Her loved ones are her anchors of hope and faith. "My mom and dad mean the world to me," she says. "They have always supported and encouraged me in everything I felt the Lord leads me to do." She has totally absorbed their passion for the Lord and His Word, and this fueled her spiritual success during her overseas sojourns as a missionary. As a matter of fact, her parents’ emphasis on the value of relationships, empathy and strong work ethic proved to be very valuable assets in her overseas missionary work. For Kameron , God's will is key. But wait, that is not all. There is more. Equally important, Kameron benefits from her parents' adventurous influence.

"My family, my mom and I especially, are very adventure-driven. We love to find new places to eat, hidden local gems, fun things to try in new towns, and taking the long path to find beautiful hidden views," she says. "It definitely impacted my heart to want to be in the foreign mission field. I long to see new people, places and cultures. God made a big beautiful world full of beautiful people, we want to experience it all. " Furthermore, Kameron has done mission work with Youth with a Mission (YWAM,) and has taken college-level courses through this organization. For example, she attended the YWAM Discipleship Training School, where she learned to deepen her personal relationship with the Lord God, and, sharing this commitment with others. "We learned dramas, songs, cultural dances and how to share our testimonies in a precise way," she says. "After I completed that six-month course I went back after staffing with them for one-and-a-half years to take a second course called Bible School for the Nations." Additionally, she read the entire Bible in four months, wrote treatises of books of the Bible, and was trained on how to present the Plan of Salvation cross culturally. She then spent two months in Tanzania as

ngagements precede wedding dresses, flower arrangements, limousines, and even a couple’s wedding vows. And no proposal is complete without a ring. A recent survey in the United States found that people spend an average, of $5,978 on engagement rings. Recognizing the potential cost of engagement rings can help ring shoppers prepare for their purchases. Couples can employ the following tips to shop with confidence. Know your settings. How the diamond is framed can affect how big it looks and even how much it sparkles. A skilled jeweler knows how to properly cut a stone to bring out its best radiance. Know ring metals. Platinum and gold are some of the most popular ring setting metals. Platinum
costs considerably more than gold or silver, but is long-lasting. Investigate personal style. Men should pay attention to the jewelry their girlfriends wear so the engagement rings complement their style. Some women love modern jewelry, while others gravitate toward vintage pieces. Think about trading up. Some couples like to replace engagement rings with a more elaborate ring for a big anniversary. Jewelry stores are in the business of developing relationships with their customers. When purchasing engagement rings, couples can discuss their desires in regard to a ring, as well as their budgets.

Experience gifts Instead of a candle or a monogrammed cake server, think of experiences to offer guests.
