Looking ahead to Midsomer Norton Fayre and Jubilee Day

Exciting plans are being finalised for the Midsomer Norton Fayre which will return this year on Saturday 9th July from 12 noon until 5pm, in and around the Town Park at Gullock Tyning.

The event will start with the Maypole Dance Festival, with over 100 local school children taking part in the main arena, followed by other community group displays through the afternoon. Other attractions include a bouncy castles, Punch and Judy, the Silver Band, art and music workshops and much, much more.

Inside the Somer Centre will be displays of Art and Photography, as well as the popular Tea Room with delicious cakes and sandwiches. Also make sure you visit the wide range of community stalls showcasing local community groups, businesses and independent traders and crafters.

The Midsomer Arts Festival brings its main celebration to the heart of the Fayre. Enjoy a range of music, poetry, puppet shows, drama and more from the best local creative minds.

The Town Show as usual will be displaying an array of many craft and horticulture entries to be admired.

Jubilee Music Day

A range of passionate and talented performers will headline the Jubilee Music Day, set to be held in Midsomer Norton Town Park on Friday 3rd June 2022.

Headlining the event will be the Honky Tonks a popular eight piece Motown and Classics Band. They are guaranteed to have the audience on their feet singing and dancing. Midsomer Norton’s own Verdisa will perform their energetic and soulful music, filled with harmony and positivity.

Other artists set to perform include the Young Martyrs, singer-songwriter James Harriman, Al O’Kane Band, The Davenports and All You Need is The Beatles – who plan to recreate the famous rooftop performance, and play other classic wellknown Beatles songs.

As well as a fantastic selection of music events there will be bars, food stalls and a bouncy castle there for what promises to be a long overdue celebration of community and local creativity.
