COUNCILLOR SURGERIES RETURN

N

ew for Midsomer Norton Town Council at the beginning of 2020, was the introduction of Council Surgeries. Your local Councillors were on hand to listen to any issues and views you may have on Midsomer Norton and work towards building a better community for residents. In attendance were either three or four Councillors available to listen to any queries, hear reports of any problems in the town, or to hear any suggestions you would like the Council to consider. Then the Covid-19 pandemic struck, plunging us all into a lockdown, and from April 2020, all planned Surgeries were cancelled in line with government restrictions at the time. However, with the easing of social distancing it was agreed at the Full Council meeting on the 6th September that Councillors would reinstate the Surgeries. They will take place either before a Full Council Meeting, or on the first Saturday morning of the month when a Full Council Meeting does not take place. They will go ahead on the following dates and times: • 4th December 9-10am • 7th February 6-7pm • 7th March 6-7pm

If there is anything that you would like to discuss, then please do come along. Issues previously raised have included problems with street lighting, pot holes and litter. Please bear in mind that as restrictions have been lifted, it is sensible to follow some socially responsible measures. Unless there is a major change in the Covid-19 rules, we ask that those wanting to come along to the Surgeries be prudent and to consider any suitable safety measures they deem necessary.
