Looking forWarD to CHRISTMAS EVENTS 2021

W

e are all hoping that this Christmas brings back a return to more “normal” festivities! And with that thought in mind we are hoping to bring back the Children’s Christmas Party and Cinema Night that were first held in 2019. In addition to the long running Seniors' Christmas Social, which has been a fixture in the Christmas calendar since 2011! Food and drink will be provided. These social events are free to all and are for residents of Midsomer Norton only. All those attending will require a ticket which will be allocated strictly to people in the order in which they apply, and numbers will be more limited than previously. You will need to bring the ticket to gain entry. All these events will be going ahead providing the current Government guidelines with regards to social distancing remain as they are, as of 1st October 2021, and unless there is a late change in the advice from the government.

Children’s Christmas Party: This year’s Children’s Christmas Party will take place in the large hall in the Somer Centre, Midsomer Norton on Saturday 4th December 2021 from 12 midday until 2pm. The event is for children aged between 4 and 11 years old who currently attend Primary School. Entertainment will be provided by the much loved Rocky’s Magic Parties, and fingers crossed for an appearance from Father Christmas and one of his Elves!

Children’s Christmas Cinema: The Christmas Cinema this year will take place on Friday 3rd December. Doors will open at 6pm ready for the film to start at 6.30pm. The cinema evening is for children aged between 12 and 16 who live in Midsomer Norton. A drink and a snack will be provided. The film has not yet been decided but we are sure you will enjoy the one we choose!

Seniors' Christmas Social: The 2021 Midsomer Norton Free Senior Citizens Christmas Party will be held on Friday 10th December 2021. Now in its 10th year, Midsomer Norton residents enjoy an afternoon of music and food. This year the event will take place at Welton Rovers Football Club from 2.00 – 6.00pm. Tickets for the event will be available from Monday 20th November 2021 on a first come first served basis with a maximum of 2 tickets to be reserved by any individual. So, if you are over 60, live in Midsomer Norton and would like to dance and sing-a-long to the sounds of Spirelaine, a popular band playing 50s, 60s and 70s music, please contact the office. Please do keep an eye on our website and social media, and posters about the town with details, and we will look forward to seeing you!
