Meet your new councillor

Meet your new councillor, Paul Millard

What made you decide you would like to be a Parish Councillor?

My involvement with Westfield allotments led me to work with the council on various matters over recent years and I became interested in the Parish Council role as a way of supporting the wider community of Westfield.

How do you see your role working?

I would like to assist the council to achieve its goals, particularly in relation to the Waterside Valley project. I have worked in health and social care throughout my career and am particularly keen to support people with disabilities to enjoy and be a part of their local community.

I particularly enjoy the local countryside and history of our parish and am keen to ensure that the benefits of our beautiful countryside are accessible and enjoyable for all local people.

What could be improved?

With the increasing traffic through our parish, I am concerned about road safety, speed and anti-social behaviour of some road users.

Outside of being a Councillor, what are your hobbies and interests?

I am retired and enjoy exploring the local area,

walking and cycling and discovering local history with my wife. We have an allotment in Westfield and enjoy growing our own produce and sharing excess through Crop Drop to benefit the local community.

I am also a keen motorcyclist and we enjoy travel and holidays in our motorhome.

I look forward to supporting the local community and Parish Council.
