The immediate challenge facing policy makers and the global energy industry is to cooperate in the development of energy systems that meet this demand growth in an economically efficient way that offers the best path to tackling climate change and the detrimental health impacts of poor air quality.

Fueling the Future Global energy consumption is expected to double in the next 50 years, driven by increasing population and economic development.

Natural gas is clean, abundant, and accessible virtually anywhere in the world. New sources of natural gas from both conventional and unconventional sources, in combination with new and existing pipelines, and the rapid growth of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) infrastructure, are greatly increasing supply security, flexibility, and affordability. Natural gas is the fuel for today and for the future.
