chainflex® cable's classification according to the criteria requirements, oil-resistance and travel distance.

Give us your opinion!

Definition of the icons used in the catalogue

Yes, we can! Catalogue improvement. The chainflex® class is composed of 3 parts: Requirements 1 to 7

Travel distance 1 to 4

Requirements

Resistance to oil 1 to 4

Travel distance

To make the choice easier for you, we have classified all chainflex® cables according to the criteria "requirements, oil-resistance and travel distance". The higher the number the better the cable.

Dear costumers,

Example: You are looking for a cable which is suitable for the highest mechanical load. In addition, it should be oil-resistant following DIN EN 50363-10-2. The travel distance should be up to 100 m for freely suspended and gliding applications.

with every new chainflex® catalogue we agonize about how we can do the catalogue easier and better. And we know our catalogue so well that many details are totally clear for us. Then a costumer asks a detailed question and we notice, that it is not said that clear in the catalogue.

You choose from the classification overview (see left page): 1: Flexible cables

1: freely suspended

2: Highly flexible cables

2: freely suspended and gliding up to 50 m

3: Chain-suitable cables without special structure (e.g. stranding in layers) for the use in e-chains®.

3: freely suspended and gliding up to 100 m

4: Cables with special structure for permanent movement in e-chains® for medium requirements and radii from 7.5 x d, speed up to 3 m/s 5: Cables for permanent movement in e-chains® for high-load requirements and radii from 6.8 x d, speed up to 10 m/s 6: Cables for permanent movement in e-chains® for highest load requirements and radii from 5 x d, speed up to 10 m/s 7: Cables for permanent movement in e-chains® for highest load requirements and smallest radii, indoor and outdoor, radii from 4 x d, speed up to 10 m/s and more

4: freely suspended and gliding up to 400 m and more

Resistance to oil

Requirements: Travel distance: Resistance to oil:

6 3 3

This results in the cable's class – here "Class 6.3.3" that you can take out of each product's page.

In theory the following classes would be possible: lowest "Class 1.1.1", highest "Class 7.4.4"
