1.Only machines do the talking at Federal Bank hiring process now FedRecruit relies on a series of connected events or data points and goes beyond the conventional one-sided resume to construct a 360-degree narrative of the candidate.
MUMBAI: Federal Bank is transforming its traditional HR practices by shifting almost the entire hiring process to a tool driven on artificial intelligence-arguably a first in the domestic banking space. FedRecruit, the new HR tool of the Kochi-based private sector lender, employs technology to drive the HR function to the fullest, under which the only human intervention of its multistage hiring process is the final round where top HR executives meet up with the new recruits. 2. India Inc, invest in JNU's HR-R&D Sponsoring university hostel stay could be your contribution to better education. JNU authorities have accommodated the demands of its students who were protesting against a proposed hostel fee hike. Sure, the increase may seem piddly to us — that, too, an increase after 19 years. The security deposit is Rs 5,500, a monthly fee of Rs 20 and Rs 10 for a single- and double-occupancy room respectively. The corresponding amounts proposed were Rs 12,000, Rs 600 and Rs 200. A new maintenance charge of Rs 1,700, also junked, was planned too. Yes, a monthly Rs 2,280/1,890 hike, even with an extra (refundable) Rs 6,500 deposit, hardly seems daunting.
“For many, despite stipends and scholarships, such a hike could make their scholarly pursuits ‘too much of a luxury’ to continue.”
For many, despite stipends and scholarships, such a hike could make their scholarly pursuits ‘too much of a luxury’ to continue. So, JNU’s well wishers — and of higher education in general — could sponsor university hostels as HRR&D investment!

3. 5 Critical HR Skills Every Manager Needs to Know The Human Resources department can get a bad rap. But you can benefit as a manager from their guidance and advice.
You landed a great job as a manager and have a team under you to direct and grow. But it’s crucial for you to keep gaining and developing the skills you need to create great employees.
Providing constructive feedback Feedback is one of the most helpful things a manager can provide to their employees. Good feedback can foster trust and better performance. But not being constructive in feedback can result in a bitter employee.
How to negotiate Negotiating is a process of compromising. The key to negotiation is eliminating emotion. Not only is it necessary to negotiate regarding compensation, but it’s also important in non-monetary issues.
Growing talent A good, employee-centric manager will focus on developing their people. This is not only good for the worker, but for the greater good of the company. HR loves seeing promotion from within. Developing employees for higher roles makes this possible.
Dealing with conflicts When spending so much time together, personality conflicts and disagreements are bound to happen. Conflicts between employees can be awkward and downright ugly. Remaining a neutral party will help managers mediate these conflicts. It can be tough, but in the war of co-workers, it’s essential to play Switzerland.
Building morale With the amount of time your team spends at work, it’s important to throw a little fun in. Team building can create a healthier culture and reduce the likelihood of workplace conflicts. Preventing burn out leads to employees that work more efficiently.
A good manager will take steps to address and hopefully solve conflict before it escalates. It’s important to keep HR in the loop as appropriate. 3

4. Amazon, Flipkart lead in B-school hiring The e-commerce marketplace is the top recruiter at the NITs, including those at Jalandhar, Trichy, Calicut and Malviya NIT, Jaipur
NEW DELHI: In the hunt for talent on Indian campuses, early trends show Amazon as the top recruiter among ecommerce and tech companies with Walmart-owned Flipkart following closely. At the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), where final placements are underway, Amazon is ahead. It also leads in summer placement offers at the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and the schools expect this trend to continue for the finals as well.
“We expect that the demand for talent by top e-commerce companies would only go up as they are penetrating more small towns and cities,” said Amit Karna, chairperson of the placement committee at IIM Ahmedabad. “They would need more talent, especially from premium management schools.”
“At the IIMs, where summer placements are almost over, Amazon and Flipkart are ahead of other companies.” Amazon has been increasing offers at IIM Ahmedabad for the past three years. Flipkart is looking to hire interns from the top 22 B-schools, a company spokesperson said. “We continue to hire across business and product roles through campus hiring,” the person said.
