Course Timings: Registration will be at 08.00 on the first day of the course. Course sessions will start promptly at 08.30 and end at 14.30. There will be two short breaks at appropriate times for refreshments and lunch will be served at the end of each day’s session.
Course Overview There have been many advances in corrosion technology in recent years to address the key challenges facing business. Metallic structures, components and equipment are subject to corrosive attack and accelerated deterioration. The stakes are high. Mistakes can prove costly with unexpected and premature failure of your organisation’s valuable capital assets. Mistakes can also cause loss of life. Corrosion And Corrosion Control is a five day course designed to provide you with the answers to the corrosion problems you face in your organisation. This leading-edge course will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to deal with complex corrosion and materials selection issues.

Course Outline Day One Safety Moment Origin And Production Of Oil & Gas • Origin and generation of oil • Reservoir production mechanism • Crude oil composition • Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Corrosion Damage • Definition of corrosion • Corrosion fundamentals • Factors influencing corrosion • Forms of corrosion • Corrosion monitoring in plant and facilities - Monitoring techniques - The effectiveness of measuring techniques - Assessment of monitoring data • Corrosion failure and root cause analysis
Throughout the course, you will be encouraged to discuss your organisation specific problems, seek group views and guided to develop your own corrective action agenda for implementation upon returned to your workstations.
Day Two
During the workshop you will work through a simulated CMS project methodology, work-out activities schemes, identify significant KPI’s , put in place measurements to monitor progress, identify gaps and corrective measures. You will be exposed to all aspect including team building, motivation and inspiration of team members and other significant communication skills. The course size will be limited to allow effective coverage, stimulate group discussion and enable group networking and interaction.
Material Change • Metallic materials: - Alloying elements - The effect of alloying elements on steel properties - Alloying groups • Non metallic materials: - Composites - Manufacturing processes - Properties of composite materials - Application of non metallic materials in offshore and onshore facilities - Flexible pipelines
The instructor will use his patented “Hudson Express Train Game” as a tool to measure your understanding of the course materials, exercise real case scenarios and encourage team building spirit in a competitive and joyful environment.
