Mike has also contributed to the design, development and implementation of transport and warehouse management systems throughout Australasia. Your expert Course Director Mike Badwi will take you through a proven review process covering: • Identify what you need and document your ‘Needs Profile’ • Traditional vs. new storage solutions – which one will suit your operation? • Materials handling equipment options – ‘where to look’ and ‘what to look for’ to achieve a high ROI • Situation analysis – How to rapidly identify cost reduction opportunities in your operation. Are you at the top of your game? • Opportunity review – Using industry benchmarking techniques, how to quickly identify the greatest areas of opportunities and risk • Cost reduction strategies – Techniques used to target key areas for easy cost reduction analysis • Storage and picking solutions – Review traditional vs. systems driven • Tracking performance for ongoing improvement Review your current and future operations and strategies. History shows that companies who stayed the course in improving important core capabilities enjoyed higher success when the good times came back. These challenging economic times have highlighted the need to review every aspect of your business. You need to look at new ideas within your business. For the past two years, businesses have seen customer demand fall, whereas expectations for improved service have continued to rise. Many businesses have been forced to make significant reductions in staff and budget to survive during the economic downturn. The frightening thing is that the recovery could be just as demanding. Attend this course to gain vital information to reduce your organisation’s operating costs and maximise the opportunities as soon as they arise. • Are you prepared to take advantage of a growing economy again? • Do you have the infrastructure and plans in place to handle that growth without making significant investments? • Is your business agile enough to handle the changes that are surely coming? At the end of this informative and practical course, you will be able to apply your knowledge to a wide range of warehouse management, design and operational issues as well as know what to look for when preparing your business for the inevitable recovery.

Site Visit Delegates will have the opportunity to visit a large modern distribution centre, where you will see some of the latest technologies and trends to increase productivity and accuracy. One of the main benefits you will get from this visit will be how the theory gained from the course can be applied in an operational environment. This is a very rare opportunity to see firsthand what technologies are available within the region and to speak to the operational management who drive the processes.
